Hello GTPlanet,

i am thinking about a quite easy implementation of a time attack mode, that would be a great addition to the game. Please tell me what you think about this.
This is a very basic overview how it could look like:

First you can choose the track, then the version in case there are forward, backward or other layouts of the track. Then there should be several brackets of performance points.

The should be three lists available to support single and multiplayer oriented drivers:

Personal List only contain the cars that is drove myself on the track. Would be fun to see which cars from my garage in the end would be the best in the list.

Friends is my list combined with all times from my friends to have a small competition between each other.

Global is worldwide and you can see, which car is really the fastest on the track and the PP limit.

In the end its just some data collection from the game and should not be so complicated to add. Would really love to have this in GT7. Let me know what you think about this idea.

Cheers

Basically hot lap mode like they had in early Forza Motorsports? That also had local leaderboards. You also had 'overall' leaderboards for each car class which combined the times from all the tracks. Was great fun. I am surprised a mode like this doesn't currently exist in GT7. Maybe because they update the physics from time to time which would require all the leaderboards to be reset?

I think a Sports mode for Time Attack/Time Trial could be fun. Have 12 or more cars on track for 15 or 20 minutes and compete for best lap time. It would teach people how to space themselves better and deal with qualifying in Manufacturers or Nations events. Also teaches how to slow down and let faster traffic by after making a mistake and resetting for the next lap.

Just another thing PD could do to enhance this game, but they’re never going to do it.
