Well this is never happening to me again.

It may, you never know. You have amazing skills for this game, I'm actually almost at gold myself at W.G.
1'16.287 so far. So, this is definitely worth the time and stress to get it this time. For you to be 27, that's incredible how many golds you've achieved. I don't worry about it much anymore. The object of these time trials is to have fun and compete with friends and other players here. And kudos to the rest of you, without learning from you guys, I wouldn't have gotten to the skill level I'm at now. I'm a semi-amateur with lots more practice and advanced learning to do.

The Alfa TT i did already last weekend, just forgot to post it :sly:
Gran Turismo™ 7_20240928181248.jpg

Awesome car! Please more like these PD!

As i saw the GT-R TT i thought:
an AWD car: great
on road tires: ---- (imagine a very long beep)
The 1st session i did yesterday very early. I did gold for the 1st time with a 1:35,077, 2 thousands faster then nessesary
But that didn't last long. In the afternoon i went again and had a small improvement.
Gran Turismo™ 7_20241003171518.jpg

I don't think this will last. But i haven't watched Tidgneys vid, i'm sure this will, like always, show how i can improve this.

Edit. Forgot to mention one thing: Tracklimits! --- (extrem long beep this time!) Especially in the MAG Arena drove me mad!

Excuse me for being off topic for a sec!

Didn't expect to see a fellow Hong Konger here
Yep! Born ‘n’ raised in this tiny city, and still living here! I thought you’re an American when I lurked around this thread in the past though 😅 Good to see another compatriot here!

After over 2 days of trying, I’m happy to report that I have finally managed to improve my time in the MiatZuka from 1:02.078 to a final time of 1:01.918! Granted, there’s still time for me to practise (which I used but yielded no further improvement) when I ended the session, and my lap was kinda rough with some abrupt steering and some unexploited track space, but after over 1,000 kms of trying and countless retries from trying to nail the 1st right-hander complex (and the final corner too), I’m more than happy to call it quits. And the matter is, I did it with zero aids (except a weak ABS), manual transmission, in cockpit cam, with eye dryness*, and most pleasing of all, without taking any advice or recommendations (not even other players’ ghosts), so I am well and truly proud of my ranking of ~8500th. :D

That is, until I see folks like MidnightRun85 and Famine (seriously, with a D-pad?) taking only around a dozen laps to beat my record… :irked: I’ll go back to my DR D dungeon.

(Those 1131 kilometres are all done in this time trial!!)

*this just means a lot of blinking, but this TT is actually the kindest of them all on this problem, with a long straight for me to restore the wetness and a super-short lap so things won’t turn too bad before lap ends :dopey:

unbelievable lies GIF

I don't see under your profile picture the 2 gold tabs with TT stats, while I see them for others, don't know why, any idea @crome ?
Check again ;)

Making people available to the plug-in is a manual process: I have to map their GTP names to their PSN IDs because many do not display their PSN IDs in the profile (side note: the plug-in could in theory do this automatically for those users that do, as is the case here, but so far it is a rare enough occasion that I didn't bother to implement it).

I thought that if I use the plugin, I'll see the stats of everyone. I get it now.

Too late to witness the miracle here :

Fired up the cruisship this morning to wrestel the piggy around the GP Sprint layout...
I hate the fact that it is so nose heavy and i still haven't figured out when oversteer or understeer occures,
For a fact i know it oversteers when slightly hitting the gras, all gazillion kilograms pushed forward on tires that can't deal with the weight, squeeking and yelling TURN...TURN as a result...

Wasnt happy about the lap at all, and i missed quite a few apexes not even beeing on the curb, but in the end it was descent with a .255, but the car just isn't "lively" as far as a AWD can be...
Most of the time i can rotate them by letting off throttle, but this brick isn't reall sensistive for that

@Dan_Tes come on mate, pour some Faustino Grand Reserva and hit that 32!
don't give us false hope :lol::lol::lol:

Oh my god, it's a miracle, I bashed into gold territory with a 1'16.134! I used MT over and over and I kept failing, but then I switched to AT and got this miracle lap, take a look and see. Watch out guys, even you @Pesselles

The question is will it hold? Probably not which means I need to push harder and get a 1'15.9xx time if I can. See I knew and sensed that I would pull this off and I did, :)

I'm proud of myself for being brave and taking a leap of faith and shooting for my gold.

Second day in Nurburgring Sprint, and I improve my time at 1'34'694 with optimal time at 1'34'353

I have to do better if I want to keep the gold. It's a very interesting TT with a Japanese car who is not stable when braking and who is difficult to understand her reactions. But really very interesting !!!!

I just knocked my time down again, @Evilmuffin I forgot to look at what your time was, do you think my time is safe, it's at 2.51%. I hope it is because I don't want to barrel and push through anymore. I doubt the aliens will beat Doodle's time, seriously. Get a look at how I handled those sweepers like a boss. I only ran a total of 56 laps before entering gold.

Fire Chris, well done for securing that gold, I don't see times shift that muchs at the top so you should be alright. 💪👌

What a surprise; the slidey road car specialist goes fast, that didn’t take long to get the hang of did it!? I’ll just call you the Dutch Doodle from now on! 😉 I was lucky enough to drive a GTR hard around a track a few years ago and it felt quite a lot like this; less oversteery but yeah I really enjoyed it.

I made a bit of a boo boo yesterday and didn’t realise it was my last day for that wonderful Alfa at Watkins Glen; frustratingly I didn’t get THE lap done, some really tight track limit calls invalidating all of my quickest laps (a 1:14.199 scrapped for what seemed like nothing on the final corner exit boooo).

Also on the first three laps of the session I managed to get two laps in a row with exactly the same time, has anyone done that before!??

I had to settle for a .3xx which probably won’t hold for top 100 but thems the breaks.

Have a great weekend everybody! 😁

 , thanks mate, we keep getting better and faster thanks to this community, and the absurd six-oclock-GT7-alarm each day ;), and guys like you, there is awlways somebody faster than me so that kind of keeps the pressure on

The Glenlivet.....uuuh...Glenlimits are annoying, i also scraped the heck out of the last concrete thing upcomming mainstraight, but my worst is the left one on the busstop, god it's like mm's of licking paint there.
But .307 is more than descent mate!, and we all know if you would have the time you would come up with that "LAP" ;)

And about that same time .... i often clock the same time in a session a few laps from each other, most of the time it's PB copytime but almost never te same time...

Slotted into the top 7 with this lap! I'll bank it, final chicane is too daunting a prospect to nail on a hot lap. My nerves can't handle it!View attachment 1394380
I can't nail the final sector at all, no matter if it's a hot lap or a trash lap. 🥲😂😂
My fastest time at S2 is just 0.3s behind Andrew, but i only managed to get barely below 1:33 so far.
The chicane feels ok sometimes, but that final turn is realy the woerst corner in motorsport history. 🤬😂😂

The final corner has no visible braking point, so I use the speedo to determine when to brake (when I hit 100mph).

I like to use this wall on the left. Honestly, I don't recall the exact point of braking, whether it's where the first white bit ends, the orange bit ends, or when it goes to silver, but you can figure out what works for you.

Hi guys (and Greek)

First real session with the lovely* new GT-R on the short Nurb'. Miss Godzilla is really titanic, so the livery:

Thanks @Lomic for those lovely stickers 🥰

The first laps were "complicated" and after some stints, I've started to find better braking points, better apexes, and more comfortable with the weight transferts. The main issue are those ***** tires (seriously, SM tires shouldn't be allowed in this configuration).

And finally, I've entered the yellow zone with a very tiny margin:

Very surprized to be that close to mon ami @Jeje6410 ;)

I'll check @Tidgney guide to understand why I'm soooo slow on S1 (+/-1sec) and S3 (+/-0.7).
If I listen to my optimals, I should gain 2 or 3 more tenths:

ATTACKE!!!!

* : yes Mister @Evilmuffin the R35 IS LOVELY !!! :yuck::dopey::lol:

Still another combination that exposes my complete lack of understanding of physics and track management.

Some laps feel fast and smooth, minimal tire noise, but are slow.
Some laps feel horrid, car sliding all of the place, understeer, oversteer, and require less time than the smooth ones that feel fast.
Throw in the (in my opinion) questionable track limits for the last 2 turns of sector one for extra joy.

This one is going to take a while.

Yesh.... But no.

That GT-R..... Is anything but great... 😅😅😅

It took forever to improve tonight. The car felt unpredictable last night, and it was even worse for the first 50 or so miles tonight. I just couldn't get a handle on it. :boggled: My fast lap was ugly, but I did finally make a gain. The hairpin at the beginning of sector 2 looks awful, but I found I'm much faster going in deep through there than if I tiptoe around the inside. And I felt I got into the chicane too hard, but I got a lucky bounce over the curbs. Whew!
