Well, I wasn't too far off gold, but I just wasn't fast enough to pass the gold line. The NSX took advantage of me, everytime I took a turn it kept pulling me back and I had to fight to get a grip on the car. I only put a mere 60 laps in this, not like I did at Goodwood. so, off to Spa which is the next TT that will end January 16th. Actually I'm trying to get my self esteem up by getting a faster time than most people, but I'm not succeeding so far. Most of my life during school, when I got bad grades, my parents got all over me which made me feel bad.

Looks like I'm on my own as usual. I feel like I'm in a tug of war battling for the best time. You guys are pulling me in the mud. My self-esteem is so low it's gonna take years to get it back up, and being the best, fastest driver isn't the solution apparently, from my point of view.
Chris, mate..... maby you have to stop your GT7 life, if i would loose my self esteem over a game i would have pulled the plug immidiately....., not trying to be hars..... but that's just bad buddy.

Good days racers, been busy over here with all kinds of stuff including a fat guy in a red suit getting stuck in my chimney!

Also I'm playing a few other games at the mo so somewhat light-touching the TTs, still managed Gold in the last 4 including the NSX and the wonderful Tskuba, keep on lapping

Accidently binned off a .705 this morning at Atlanta by turning in to early to the last corner 😭 . Even so I think quite a tricky one although I found it easier on the pad?? Full guide for you!

You binned it because you didn't drive your yellow car as usual. 😅😅😅

On the serious note, thanks again for making up these guides. Highly appreciated.

Can't wait for this new one. I like Road Atlanta, and this understeer car looks like a challenge.
My goal for this? I don't want to be so trivial as to say gold, here I aim to plow the fields and take the farmer of the year trophy

As for last TT, my gold stood.

So I am happy 😁
@Lomic great stuff there!!!

This is why I've repeatedly told you to adjust your expectations.

There is little reason you can't be more frequently in gold than you are - you just need to learn from others more often, rather than pounding out laps without learning anything - but being one of the fastest drivers in the world takes a lot more raw talent too.

I can jump on and gold most events in a few laps, though sometimes a few pointers from @Tidgney (particularly when a car has odd gearing) might be required. I'm nowhere near the fastest drivers in the world and would never hope to be, so it doesn't weigh on my self-esteem even slightly.

Want to be better at something
Ask people what I was doing wrong
Experienced people pointed out my mistakes
Ignore advice, continue to make the same mistakes
Wonder why I'm not getting better
Low self-esteem, blame the world for not being fair

Fun fact I learnt today. Apparently the Ford Focus can do almost 200kph in reverse 🤯
And I can't reach that speed going forward 🤣

I already planted lot of seeds early this morning, don't disturb my plantation please !

@Tidgney always thanks of your video. Depending on the specific challenge I choose when to look at them. They are playing for me different roles: target / insperation / confirmation, but they always are a permanent marker in my learning process.

Out of curiosity (and a bit off-topic): I guess you are using SimDashboard or similar to get tyre temps. Is there a way to also extract or desume tyre consumption? I know TT doesn't consume tyres, but here and there I'm driving endurance sessions for fun in cockpit mode with no overlays using SimDashboard on my cell, and I'm not sensible enough yet to have an opition on that without looking at the actual overlay info.

Thanks

Apparently he's taking a break ...

Maybe Jeddah wore himself out by working hard to earn all his gold medals and #1 spots. I bet he's enjoying his winter break. Anybody would.

@zjn The temperatures of the tires does not have an affect on your driving, so it's not relevant to the TT's. Another tip is to study the brake markers, and watching how the person that does each replay times their braking and cornering. And note what times they clock each Sector, that will give you a sign whether you're on the right track or not.

First of all, I wish you a happy new year 2025.

Look objectively at the ranking.

Here you compare yourself to the best "racers", a little indulgence and realism are welcome.

Forget about references and focus on one thing :

"Do I have fun and good sensations when I take my pad?"

If so, it’s a good start... for the rest you will see.

I have read to you in the past, you know that there are more serious and important things in life.

GT7 is still a game. Enjoy

were all these explanations told to him? repeated, repeated, and... hundreds of times by practically everyone here.... So aren't you tired of it??? Honestly once twice ok but this is too much. If he can't get it into his head that the gold medal is not an end in itself, he will never get there. Anyway....

Happy with that! Fun combo and a satisfying time. Unfortunately not entirely in sequence but a 1:23 is a bit outside of scope.

Please note the importance of livery choice again here. I tried a WRC livery but it yearned for the dirt and made for some very close invalidation calls.

He explained that he has autism right? We should probably keep that in mind and not be too harsh on him. If you don't want to give him advice anymore don't give him advice.

I have a few questions regarding how dirt/gravel on tires work in time trial.

For example, if I cut a chicane with two tires onto the dirt, does that limit the amount of grip those tires have for a certain amount of while? Or does it limit the amount of grip on all four tires? How long does this effect last? And lastly, is the amount of dirt the tires have affected by how long you drove off track?

Sorry for the barrage of questions

Used to be all four past white lane = dirty tyres, but I believe in 1.49 it's now a simpler (and more sensical) case of any tyre in dirt = dirty tyre.
