we’re not all aliens here - i’d be happy with 3 silvers - 2/3 at the moment

3/3 - that was annoying on controller with the track limits.

need to concentrate on the grand valley now. can’t find the right line anywhere, only bronze so far.

I find it quite funny that this hot rod IRL has more details and fit/finish into it than almost any other car in the game, yet so many people (Myself included) have put rust bucket liveries onto it. Lol
That is so true indeed!, I looked it up and turns out to be a real detailled and VERY expensive vehicle!, nice to know, thanks 😁
Maby i will give her the paintjob she deserves then 😁🤣👍👌

Yeah another couple of hours on it today, and if it ends tomorrow and someone drops me to silver... screw it.

This will be my final time on the Olympics.
-Controller sensitivity: 10
-Brake Bias: 5 (Rear)
-Transmission: Manual
-Chase Cam
-L2 and R2 for shifting, Right Analog for Throttle/Brake, Left Analog for Steering.

I think my silver time on DF is safe. Not really worried about gold. Like a lot of others here, I've never been under 2% from the current record, so I'm satisfied. I had a lot of fun on the even though, even found the car pleasant to drive with a wheel. My optimal time was 1:17.0xx but I was having a hard time hitting the apex on T1 playing in VR (difficult to see over the left wheel arch).

Took my first crack at GV. Unfamiliar car and track, so there's still some room for improvement. But overall, I'm pleased I was able to get a gold time on my first try, a first for me.

I hope my Fuji time is safe, but I'm skeptical it'll stand. Once the Olympic TT is over, I'm sure more aliens will show up. Using the Porsche for now, might try the Benz if I have to go at it some more.

Goodness I've gotten behind in this thread. I'm only 12, 13 pages behind?

That Alfa was a handful and took some major getting used to after the two weeks in the Radical. Slipping around and brakes that felt nonexistent. However, it was fun once I got used to it. I managed to get under a 1:39 with a 1:38.952, and good for 470th overall. It wasn't without frustration, though, because my optimal lap was a 38.558.

I don't have much to say about the Olympic event. That car is a beast, and the aliens make it nearly impossible for the rest of us "non-aliens" to achieve a gold because of it! :P I'm taking my 1:16.748 and calling it. Silver, it is. No way would I be able to pick up another second. Major props to you guys with the skills to take that monster into gold territory.

It's nice to see the variety of cars being used in the Fuji TT. I have no clue which car is best to use and don't have the time to test out multiple ones. I gave it my first go today in the Lambo. Did the physics change in the latest update have an effect on it? Because the car feels very stable compared to what I remember. Well, usually. It can get a little squirrelly if I'm not careful accelerating in 2nd gear. Anyway, I've got a 1:40.777 at the moment which is enough for gold, but I'm well down the global leaderboard. Thoughts on if I should continue on with the Huracan? The usual 911 RSR and Merc seem to be a popular choice among the leaders, too.

Haven't touched Grand Valley yet. It will be interesting to see how that one goes.

After taking care of Olympics and Fuji setting a safe silver I went to Grand Valley.

I can already see the typical path I am having in TTs : 1:18.307 in 127Km, ideal at 0.3s from the gold.

This is a safe silver in quite few km. If I will stay with my trend I will run similar times with very little to none improvement.
I'd like to break this trend, but I think that lapping around without a plan will not make the job

I had another bash at the Olympic TT and got another second and a bit off my time but still over 7% and nowhere near getting silver so I'll settle for a bronze now.

Saw I had no time for Fuji. Picked the Nismo GTR 18. Set a bronze time first lap, 5.46% of the WR. Well, I had to go back being so close to silver first try, especially because I broke at the 150 board for the first corner and know I could get a nice bit of time back there right from the start by simply braking at 125. Pulled ahead early, but then in the last back Tilke snaking section I did worse than my 1st lap. Got a silver time but only just in, went one more lap and got a time that will hold unless the WR goes down by more than half a second, which is possible but not all in one go, it might fall once or twice by a couple or a few tenths though so I'm keeping a close eye on it for the next 4 days. I have an optimal time half a second faster so I still have time to find here if needed but it will take longer. So far it's been minimal effort for a decent reward.

Next up is Grand Valley but I'm saving that for Sunday.

Thats a very good time dude! Intresting you use the stick to accelrate and the brake bias, hmmm.

Right now im only achieving a 1:17.350 or nearabouts today after bashing out some time on the Olympic TT, Do you have a clip of your run or the ghost so i can compare and give it another try? :D

Last day tomorrow mega grind time!!!

Did a few laps at Fuji's TT with one of the only GT3 I have in the garage : my trusty Nissan GT-R GT500 '99 Pennzoil. Improved quite a bit compared to the Mazda RX-VISION GT3 CONCEPT Stealth Model I've tried before (6-7 laps). Very close to silver after 8 laps.

Then I've looked at the cars used by the fastest players, and the Huracan was very present in the list so I decided to give it a go (by renting it).

On my first lap, I beat my best time so far, ok... did a few more laps and I am firmly into silver now, and maybe with a lot of work, I'll be able to achieve gold.

Yeah, I'm kind of a bit nerfed by my driving style with the Controller because that's how I got used to since the GT3 days back in 2002-2003.

I lose out on being able to use the brakes and throttle at the same time which can help stabilize the car on certain corners, but I can't get used to the L2/R2 for brake/throttle while using L1/R1 for shifting.

I can post my run yes, not a perfect lap. I think my absolute limit is between a high 1:15.6 and a low 1:15.7 based on the outright best sector times I've done, but it's damn hard to get a lap together with this car, and Deep Forest isn't really a track I'm good at.

The hairpin has been a pain in the ass, and I think it's the hardest part of this track using a controller (the car simply doesn't steer anywhere near as good as with using a wheel on slow speed corners) but another section of this track that I'm struggling to nail is T10, another slow speed corner, the corner before the back straight, I struggle to nail the exit on that corner, always exceed track limits or oversteer by being too throttle happy. I used 1st gear for the rotation and mid apex I change to 3rd gear for the corner exit, seems to be the fastest way to do it (and also the safest without spinning).

The first sector I'm actually pretty good, my best sector 1 has been only 0.150s off the top 1 run, and the time I lose is mostly on the corner before the tunel, which is again, a slow speed corner.

Ran Fuji for about 50 miles. 1:41.4 is my best with the RSR, which is still good enough for gold. I like the Fuji track. The elevation changes are great, good combination of slow, mid and fast speed turns, blind apexes and with these cars there is tons of grip. I would drive this track 10 times out of 10 if it were between this and Laguna Seca.

Managed to find time for 150 miles and put it all into Fuji since it’ll be over first. Had I just picked a car and ran with it this would probably be a mid 40’s as optimals were all between 40.4-40.6, but was having fun trying out most of the GT3 cars. Ran about 10 of them.
REALLY disappointed in what the last update did to the 650S, it was never the fastest but it was one of my favourites as it just seemed to do everything well and was fun to drive. Oh well, it clearly fixed the shortcomings of the Huracan since that’s what I set my best with. R8 was close with the 911 and 458 not too far behind.

If I don't manage to improve this tomorrow, then I'd be happy settling with time. My optimal gives me a 1:14.813 (somehow) so there's way more time in it if I really wanted to push myself. Anyways I think 1600 miles over the past week is enough for me.

Fair effort though, for a road car specialist😊

Oh, good point! Cannot search for a shining lap with a rusty look.

I swapped with this

It's nowhere a safe gold, but still it's a gold, which I don't see that often

The GV is my kind of TT, really find the car flows nicely and it's fun rotating tbe car with the brakes and managing the power out of bends.

Put 30 miles into it yesterday (about 16 laps I think?) chasing the fastest ghost and ended up with a 1:16.799. I think I might actually come back to this one and see if I can improve as it's a lot of fun to drive. That 5th gear is a bit silly though!

At the time that put me 707th, which is comfortably the highest I've been!

Just to secure I went back to Fuji tried again first with the RSR but it almost seems a different car compared to the Caralunya Time Trial, so went for the Huracan, normally doesn't suit me at all but i was kind of surprised, had to work quit hard cause it floats a lot, but after a few laps of hard work pushed out a descent 40.724, 😁

First of all, congratulations to all who managed to gold DF. No small feat!

And a round of golf claps to everyone who gave it their all, regardless of times!

I managed a 1:16.438, which is still a far cry from gold. Best optimal was 16.140.
Put everything I had in this TT, and am a bit annoyed I didn't manage to get under 16.
Maybe next year?

I know there's still time to improve today, but I am seriously tired physically and mentally so I think the above will be the final time.

Below are the stats for this week.

Today I was able to improve it further. Woke up with another mindset and decided to give it a try to post a top-1000 time and also to make sure I will get the gold prize:

1:15.789, and as you can tell, I bottled my T1 exit as well as the exit of the hairpin. My best S1 time is 21.449 and I did over 21.5 on this run, so I believe a 1:15.6xx was definitely on the cards, but I'm happy with this time. Notice how the car even at 50-60kph and on 1st gear barely turns compared to the top times which more than likely do it on the wheel. The difference is already noticeable in any corner, but it's just ridiculous on tight slow speed corners.
