I started the Gr.3 Time Trial half dazed. For the life of me, I couldn't figure out why the top times were over 8 minutes when the Circuit Experience has people deep, deep into 6 minute runs...

And then three really confusing corners later, it dawned upon me that I will never escape frustrating modern GP circuits.

You see, I was silent about the recent Gr.3 TT at Fuji because half of what I would have said about that would have been unintelligible rage. The other half would have gotten me a stern warning from the mods.

Oh well, at least this frustrating GP circuit has the Nord attached to it.

I have no clue how and even less hope that I'll get gold on this one. Gr.3 cars and me don't mix.

Please don't laugh at me too much 🙈😅 it is gold (for now)

Don't beat yourself up over the end of the lap. We've all been there. Better to make that mistake in a game than in a real car!

On to GV after finishing up at Fuji. I picked up almost a second from my lone attempt from days ago. It could have been a couple tenths better. I've learned I have NO idea how to take the final corner. Either I:
  1. take it too easy and lose time by crawling slowly through.
  2. keep a tight line but have no clue where to start accelerating, resulting in either collision with the wall or not getting on the gas soon enough and losing time.
  3. take a wide line, get a good exit, but lose too much time on said wide entry to make up for it.
  4. actually get a good line through the corner, but spin up the tires on exit and lose time.
Anyway, it's at least a solid gold and nearly put me into the top 500. I really don't feel like running this one much more and instead focus on the Nurburgring. Though if I see I may slip out of the top 1000 before the end of TT, I may come back to it for a run or two.

Of course PD decides to use a TT that requires a ton of time when I am very short on it. 🤦‍♂️

The Wicked at GV is too much fun to not put anymore time on though and really doesn’t require a lot of miles to do well. Put another 100 miles on the car and managed to get down to a 1:16.704 without watching any replays.
Then gave in and watched Holl01’s………..2 laps later dropped 2 tenths in both best and optimals. Lol. All it did was add a few shifts but it makes a big difference. Though it might also have been the less wind resistance of a clean paint job. Now have optimals in the 16.3’s with one in the 2’s.

@Dan_Tes says he doesn’t have much time, but by posting this I’m fairly certain he’ll find enough to beat me. 😂

I started on the 'Ring TT with the 2020 AMG Mercedes and put in 3 laps, safe driving to get the feel of the car out of the corners. Looking at the leaderboard with Supras starting to dominate, I jumped into the Supra and went 4 seconds faster than the Mercedes with several oops moments. So it looks like the Supra for me to try for Gold, currently at 8:25 just into the silver. Times will come down so I will have to do better.

So I am in gold with the Ford LM II and Supra, on accounts 2 & 3 respectfully. My Supra time is a tick over two seconds quicker at 8:14.8. Assuming they hold I am just going for broke on the 1 account, probably in the Supra... just to see what kind of time I can set. Love this track.
Nice job!, i did took the LMII out for a spin on the green hell, i must say it surprised me a little indeed, altho it still feel quite heavy on the front so sometimes i have trouble rotating it and understeers fairly ,uch, but i think if i make some real stints in it, i can indeed set quite a good lap with it, but there is something about that car that i DO like......,
The deep gearchanges are insane soundswise!

Bought the Huracan GT3 '15 for Nurb TT

Did a poor job on my first lap with 8min57... I got to get better on the GP layout, and improve on the Nordschleife, losing speed on a number of turns, I think I have to focus on some turns before looooong flat out sections where the more speed you have at the beginning, the less time you lose (true in every turn but especially with a long flat out section after the turn).

Seeing the times here I feel like a snail 😅

The CE is on the Nordschleife, while the TT is on the longer 24 hour version of the track.

I'm having a lot of fun on both current TTs (and mild frustration). Grand Valley is almost addictive, if it wasn't for the strict track limits here. The penalty system constantly disturbs my flow. I don't understand, why the slow down system is applied to the TTs again – while it does make sense in Sport Mode PvP racing it really ruins the fun for me in the TTs.

Nonetheless will try to crack 1:16 as there's still 6 days left and the Wicked is mad fun to throw around.

Nürburgring 24h is a different matter. Love the track and have many kilometres on it in various cars. Did some lobby racing back in GTS mainly with Gr3 cars. But wow, BoP on RHs... tried the GT500 Supra and GT500 R34 as they're usually my go to cars in Gr3 lobbies. I'm having trouble coping with the LSD, camber and brake balance settings and experience understeer on decel, oversteer/wheelspin on acceleration and trail braking understeer while the DS4 offers next to zero response signalling you when this happens. I know this is just subjective and more a matter of driving style and skills, but I don't have alienesque finesse in my digits to keep a tight and quick line. Still gonna try to see how much I can improve (if I don't eat my controller first in a fit of rage going off track).

Also did a few laps this morning with the Supra, handles well, rotates easy but is VERY loose on the back end
exits on 3th with caution, but i think this is going to be my car for the haunt for gold, but it isn't going to be easy just as i thought.
first time set without spin or penalty with the supra was still 6 second short of gold.
but not that bad as i mowed some german lawn and testen the LSD of the car quite good
Gonna be a hell of a ride to get gold but should be MORE than satifying if it happens....

Good luck guys....( except for the aliens, may you crash alot.... )

Tried a bunch of cars yesterday and am still undecided which one I will commit to.
Have a feeling, that it is more important that you can push the car without too much risk, than the raw speed of the car.
Like the Supra is very fast, but I have no hope to survive a full lap of pushing the limits. (Same for Audi R8 Evo and Ferrari)
My best lap yet was with the 650S 8:25 with some errors. Opt around 8:20. The car feels save and planted but seems to lack straighline speed.
911 feels similar with a bit more understeering.

The fact itself that you measure your delay in secs and not in mins puts you already in a whole different dimension

this TT is really very difficult. With the Supra I really can't do it. I lose it every time I come out of a bend. With the Porsche it's a little easier for me. But I couldn't beat my time. Yet I am only 0'706 from the silver medal. And yes I am not an alien!!!!! 🤣🤣
I'll try again with the McLaren which has me a lot more too but seems slower than the Porsche.

I really don't enjoy doing TT on such a long circuit as the Ring, but good luck to the people who rise to the challenge!

Wonder what is coming next, and if the GV time will fall again...maybe it won't? I'm just going to wait until the last day and see.
It's indeed a lot more difficult on a long track as this, but i just love the fact that i completed the game 100% fairly easy, but now....... struggle to keep up with some realy fast guys here, makes you work again for some result, and that result is not always as good as you want compared to a alot of others, suddenly, i'm avarage again, makes you humble

and tracks like this ain't helping in that case :lol:

So,yesterday i said this new TT was going to be a tough one, lets upgrade that to a "really, really" tough one.
I dropped .700 yesterday but the gold time dropped by about .550, net gain ,.150ish,not much when ya need 6 seconds.
Overnight the gold time dropped roughly another half a second, 8:17.990.
Went with the Supra today and managed an 8:22.447, now 4.5 seconds away from gold,:yuck:

indeed that is correct. And you feel like you're going fast and going full throttle from start to finish but not at all!!!! They must love nitro hiding under their pedals 🤣🤣🤣

Just checked in last night - looks like my gold time for the Gr.3 time trial at Fuji did indeed stick! While I don't think I'm gonna get gold for the one at Grand Valley South, I do think I've got a nice and secure silver-worthy time. Now to check out the Nurburgring 24h event - I think I'll do what I did with the Fuji one, and go with the 911 RSR again.

The RSR is a very decent car for this track. It is by no mean the quickest, but it is the one that is less likely to spin out or crash.

Anyone think the P1 time will be into the 7s before this is over?
Who knows?

Yeah I do, I think the kudos is super high on this one like the Olympic one as it's considered a super hard challenge.

Also the top 100 time differences are really spread at the moment given the length of the track

Traveling all week so running behind on things. Managed to hold onto gold at Fuji which was a relief, had time for one lap at the ‘Ring… predictably miles away from target but at least it was bronze and I can build from there. Silver I can see a path to, gold is going to require some time and effort. Will be fun trying…!

God help me if you want the aliens to slow down. Your top of my friends table..a good 30 seconds infront of me.🤣
