I change my mind about Autopolis! The second half of the lap is still a bit of a mystery to me but I am enjoying it! TC2 keeping me safe, this one seems to be all about commitment to corner speeds and careful throttle on corner exits.. Optimimum nearly in the 1:22’s so that’s my target (if I can peel myself away from the delicious Race C)

Lots of cute cats in this thread, sadly I don’t have cat attention as an excuse for my driving performance 😂 I had a great day out yesterday though, first time in two years my car has been mechanically sound and god was it worth it (apologies, none time trial content coming below)

Nice time Dan!,

And how about that M3 standing on that beautiful old bridge that was personally signed by Kaz himself, ...... you want to tell us something?, are you in silent partnership with them?.... are you their chosen Alien?.....I knew it! 🤣🤣

Nice ride mate!

Beautiful shots mate! One of the best engines ever made by BMW the S54B32. I’m a BMW owner too 😬😎
Cheers buddy! Nice! I know they have an image problem but this era BMW was just right IMO, right size for the road, right performance for the road, great balance, great noise, good looking. How things change…

😂😂😂 I didn’t notice that! You must be right, there’s absolutely no chance a mere mortal would be graffitiing up a Welsh mountain in the middle of nowhere!

I was getting into a groove at Autopolis today. Got about 4 PB laps over the previous day's 1:25.8xx. Now I'm sitting around 1:24.4xx currently about 2 tenths from gold.

Optimal time is 1:24.1xx so I'm very close but I don't have any more time today.

I hope I can find the speed again tomorrow.
I'm in a similar situation, 2 tenths away from gold. Until the end I hope to recover.

In Nurb I stayed at silver 8.21 because having to do 500 km or more to recover 1M Cr., it was just losing money.

Willow Streets is funny besides not liking the track, especially in reverse, I found this TT easy.
The third attempt I set DS4 to 10,10,10 and got 1.16.1**

Well here is a session that would have ended well on Autopolis but I lost all my means in the last section when I saw that I could be under 1'25.
I still lowered my time but I stay within 1'25. 1'25'350 with an optimal time of 1'24'8xx. 🤬🤬🤬
Now I just have to concentrate on Willow Springs because I'm not very far from the gold medal (1'17'299 and 1'17'064 for the Saint Graal !!!!! 🤣🤣). I would do yoga sessions to keep my calm !!!!🤣🤣🤣

Just keep trying, you will get there! Make lots of km's and you will get to know the weird track the best!, good luck!

Short on time so skipping Autopolis and going straight to Willow. Spent an hour on it this morning, mostly inspecting different parts of the desert while I work out where the track goes! Down to a 1:17.7 after 45 mins… getting into the 16s is the goal so still work to do. No concept of how you guys are getting into the 14s and 15s though - well done!!

Been a lovely weekend to get out in the motors. My Dad just got this back on the road so ive been out having lots of grins at low speeds 😁

Felt sorry for this fly though

GT7 needs a dead bug update

I'm on 1:25.157 on Autopolis, hard to see myself finding a whole second.

I'm getting 17.0XX sector 1, 27.1XX sector 2, and 40.9XX on Sector 3. I'm guessing sector 3 is where I'm losing ground? That section before the final turn is tough for me as I'm playing without traction control and bog down in 4th gear

Learned some better lines through the corners. The banked turn could have been taken better, and it was a bit messy of a lap beyond that. The optimal time was a 1:16.0xx. Still, not a bad pickup.

For anyone who wants to chase a lap by an Earthling.

Try using 3rd gear more. I only use 2nd in the final turn. The acceleration you gain in 2nd you are losing with wheelspin and unsettling the car getting on and off the throttle I feel. Might not suit everyone of course but its working for me.

I feel like I get better rotation using 2nd, but I will try to stay in 3rd more on my next go. Not sure how different it is for people like me using a DS4.

Edit: When watching the videos, I saw that Mistah used 3rd while Kie was dropping into 2nd like me. So who knows what the ideal strategy is.

Lots of fun and addictive time trial combos recently and the new one at Willow Springs is no exception. I've never even tried this (quite technical) layout before so it took some time to get a decent time but after some practice yesterday and a longer session today set my PB at 1:15.397 which put me 11th in the world. Interesting to see what the final times will be.

These new Scapes are amazing ;)

I'm currently 1:22.119 and Bronze limit is 1:22.141 :scared:

EDIT: 1:21.545 hoping that will be safe as I'm struggling to string sectors together on this crazy track...

Sorry my English but I try to explain... The setup of the pad have 3 parameters to adjust... I change all 3 to 10 to this car... At Autopolis SF23 I change to 10 -1-1... Tomorrow I see the name of parâmeters... (Force feedback of ?-?-?)

After that, I turned to 1.15 in Willow ... what would it be if I liked the track.

Spent some time on Autopolis this weekend and somehow managed to get a 1:23.435 with an optimum 1:23.2XX. This was one of those laps where I have no idea how I did it and was not able to get anywhere close to it afterwards.

The SF23 is just a nightmare to drive at Autopolis until you can get it right which is super satisfying. There are quite a few corners which can be taken flat out but only if you have the absolute perfect turn in point, speed and line through the corner. Getting this wrong generally results in a high speed spin or having to back off completely to even make the corner and therefore ruining the entire lap.

Not sure if I will continue with this as I don't expect the No.1 time to come down that much, and trying to put laps in with this track is a bit of a nightmare.

Aah I understand, I thought maby there is a difference in PAD setting on PS5, but think its the same, I think you mean the Force Feedback max torque and sensitivity for the Force feedback?, so you got 3 settings

-Controller sensitivity
-Force Feedback max Torque
-Force Feedback sensitivity

I think the 2 and 3th option only apply to wheel users?

Nice time btw on Willow!

I think all 3 options apply on PS5 DualSense.

Am I the only one that finds it wild that the N24 TT had a higher percentage of people getting gold than the Laguna Seca Mustang TT? I had gold on Laguna Seca within 20 minutes, but only got bronze on the N24 TT after over an hour of driving.

I suspect that for tuning allowed events such as the Laguna Seca one, many people don't realise they are allowed to tune it, or don't bother to.

afaik the Steering Force Feedback only affetcs wheel input devices supporting ffb as the Dual Sense neither has ffb on the analog sticks nor the dpad.
You are right, there is no steering force feedback on Dualsense, I can check exactly how they are named when I get home from work but there is (whatever name it is, you know many of use use this forum and express themselves even if english is not our native language) a sensitivity when for example you are driving over curbs how strongly Dualsense vibrates, and there is also a seting for feedback (resistance?) under accelerator and brake (pedals) L2/R2 , which you can also adjust and then feel how strongly it takes (presses/resists?), or weak, if you adjust those settings.

I like this Fugu thing, and I thought I wouldn't like Willow in this setup but I find it very amusing, plus the fact that you can make some errors in your lap and still have a descent time on the board.

Placed 300 as for now with a short session B with a 1:16.345

Not a beautiful lap, but quite a good start!
I hope I have some time trying to get into the 15's, would not be a problem for you guys

We don't have the same definition or perception on that point  A descent time for me is below 1:19:xxx and with some errors, I'm over 1:20:xxx :boggled: but I agree, the combo track+car is fun :sly:

Very impressive video, thx for sharing !!
