Doh! Didn't quit get the first sector absolutely right missing almost 2/10 there 🥲

Finally had an uninterrupted session at Mount Panorama. Took me 250+ miles to improve. 2:12.790. 76th overall right now. Thought I'd put together a little vid of the lap and the many mistakes it took to get there!

Great work! My aim is top 100 also - now that I'm back from overseas for work, I'll put in some solid time tomorrow and see if I can find the half a second I need....

Put in some more laps at Mount Panorama over the weekend. Don't think I'll get another chance to do any more laps before it ends so my final time is a 2:12.983 which places me 112th as I write this.

Couldn't really get any consistency in this session, my times were varying wildly and I kept getting barrier contact penalties from pushing too hard.
Optimum was a 2:12.7XX so there wasn't much time left to improve. With more practise I might've been able to get a low 12 but I don't think 11 was possible for me.

Happy with the position but a little disheartening to see the #1 time to be over 2 seconds away still.

Had a short session at Suzuka yesterday evening and managed to improve a bit over 2 tenths. Still not entirely happy with the lap time but I'm getting there. These high downforce race cars (gr.1-gr.2) are not my strongest area so I always feel the overall skill level is particularly high in races/time trials like this. PB 1:49.455 (NSX).

1,335 (1827 km’s) miles and I feel so dejected. I hate this time trial. Sucks knowing I simply can’t get gold on this track. Got within 5-100ths of PB twice but no improvement and certainly no where close to gold time

Wish I would have been spending my time on the Gr.2 cuz that track gives me fits and gonna need the time to gold

Don't want to compound your pain but that's over 350 laps! Proper dedication for sure.

Not sure it helps or not. But instead of trying to improve overall lap time, maybe try to focus on 1 or 2 corners first? Try to get consistently into the 19.6s in the first sector and work on the right hander after the straight. If I remember right, that right hander you can use some improvement, there are probably a good 3 to 4/10s to be gain just in the corner alone. Load a fast ghost (I actually followed Thekie's ghost this time), and just see where he is gaining.

Another thing is...it is important to be consistent. Even if you know your line and braking points are not the optimum. This is your base line...and it is hard to find out where you can improve if your base line is allover the place. Kinda like doing an experiment without a control, you will ended up having nothing to compare with when try something different.

This is excellent advice. I would also add that messing up early in the lap does not necessarily mean you should restart. Treat that lap as an opportunity to experiment with other corners. Unless you've been on the grass... then I'd usually restart.

Last night I had one part of the session that I did 37 laps without restarting... plenty of them had mistakes or penalties!

Don't panic Hombre, I have the same experience since 2 days... Gold rush seems to be only a dream, unreachable, far away in time.
Tomorrow will be a better day :)

Is 8 and 7 your sensitivity? What do you mean with the 8/4 and the 4/2 ?

For me it realy depends on the car and track 😁 with like the Redbull car on Spa or something I'm on 4 otherwise I'm scraping every corner there is 🤣🤣
Steering sensivity : 8 or 7
Torque max. force feedback : 4 (sometimes 8)
Force feedback sensivity : 4 or 2

Depends for car and tracks

Yeah 7 or 8 most of the time fine for me also, it's nice that there is quite a big difference between 1 and 10 😁

The torque max and FFb sensitivity I never changed because I don't own a wheel ....yet.. 🤣

After a bit of a break from GT7, today I spent another 2 hours on Suzuka, trying to chase improvements made by @Evilmuffin and @Vule. All I got in the end however was sweaty hands and pathetic 42 thousandths of a second improvement, into the 1:50.194. Optimum shown 1:50.08x at one point but this would need to be a dream lap.

This was a great lesson on time relativity. Several times in this thread someone, myself included, at the start of TT thought that eg. 1:49s on Suzuka is quite close if you are on 1:50.5 already. However it gets exponentially tougher to improve with every tenth. Keeping with the Suzuka example, improving exactly one tenth now would get me more than 100 places on the leaderboard which is around 20% of the people ahead of me.

Well, I'm just going to settle for silver on the Maserati TT. After driving this combo for 250 miles, it just isn't clicking for me at all and the fun was gone at that point. The Viper TT was almost a walk in the park compared to this. Going to move on to Suzuka now.

Well guys I managed to earn a gold on the High Speed Ring challenge, had to do 52 laps in a row before I finally scored the winning shot/lap. You can look on the scoreboards and look for my profile: rising_glass1

So that was my second gold, let's try for my third at Suzuka. I'm going up the mountain day by day.

Great time! and absolutely true, to be honest i had to fight quite hard to get my 50.5 lap in, and this TT for is like i said more difficult to get into the consistency flow during a stint, what means i need more time for the stints, for me this is not one to hop on and PB on my second lap, i need to regain confidence it the downforce etc or something.
The problem is the time that i don't have to pull the long runs right now
I know i can be faster because my lap wasn't that tidy and i run my first laps consistent sub 51 so there is hope haha

But awesom time there!

There he is again, crazy muffin, fresh out of the oven and nails it again, that's crazy sub 50 there
very well done sir!, very smooth lap, that hairpin was satifying, each time i approach it i'm wondering if i need to go to first or stay in second, some get crazy rotation on it in second and i have no idea how they do

I picked up 1 tenth of a second from yesterday. It took ~113 miles. It was the ONLY lap faster than yesterday. :boggled: Like @peniu said, those gains are so difficult to make the lower the time gets.
But your time is indeed quite quick already on this very technical circuit, not the easiest one, plus we have some days left right
and the guys here become faster and faster, somany skilled simmers here now a days!
keep pushing mate, you will prob going to do a "i don't know where this came from" lap and enter the sub 50 soon ;)

Wow congrats Chris, that's a nice score you can be proud of! I clearly remember my 2nd gold score, it's a fantastic memory.

For Suzuka and as you are human like me, I would recommand to practice first with the Circuit Experience. The car there is also a Gr. 2 and even if there's a BoP on the TT, it's very similar. That helpt me a lot to learn this technical track and to gain confidence before trying the TT.

Don't try to compare to aliens like Muff--, Gomar--, Saarg--, Ebrahi--, Dolp--, or these similar weirdos drivers :)

@Chris30 : well done! Even humans like us have fun at TTs and earn precious metal.

@Pesselles : your advice of the CE helped me a lot at the beginning and so I thought it would be a friendly gesture to record a faster lap in return as a 'merci'... 😉 You keep me coming back to the RBR.

This year the fastest lap of a GT500 car at Suzuka was 1:48:321 and that's close to the top times in Gran Turismo. So, good job on all sides!

I aim for a sub-52-lap and doubt I can reach gold. In comparison to other tracks (and other games) I'm happy that I am relatively close to the top times IRL.

I always like to choose from different cars and to me the Lexus nails it. I lost the modern Honda many times and all of a sudden. The modern GTR has a lot of understeering. The Audi is great but I need a lot of time to make the best of the DRS. The old Lexus unfortunately Lacks downforce. Nonetheless a lot of fun and I wish PD would offer a bunch of road cars at other time trials.

Sorry for this long writing.
