Second session in the C8, on one hand I hate the way it drives, it's heavy but somehow still controlable......on the oversteer, you can certainly drift it nicely around Seca, but I do have some problem transferring the weight without the understeer, T3 is a good example, 9/10 times I miss the apex, my feeling says I can go faster on entry but the front tire say Naahhhh 🤣🤣

Did find some time in the 2nd session
Tough but fun!

1:31.339...... ( I did saus the gearbox for T5 🙈🤣)

I had the same problem with turn 3. I ended up trail brake a little longer than usual and it seemed to help. Using 3rd gear also seemed to help with rotation too.

Well, I’m quite late to comment on TT40 and early on TT41, at least in my view! Not that it’s necessary but it can be nice.

As for Gr.2 on Suzuka, great pleasure driving that one and again damning myself for starting it so late, just banked a lap with two days left, and then a few push hours just ahead of it ending. A TT I would’ve liked to continue on a bit more. Nevertheless, kudos to PD for a nice one. I ended up P137.

And then we have the 330 P4 at Monza. Not bad but not as fun as the Gr.2 one. I don’t remember who said it but I think I saw a comment some pages back and I agree that it would’ve been cooler to have this one on Monza without the chicane. Kind of awkard with this car, going through Variante del Rettifilo. Had to do this one earlier than usual as I won’t be home when it ends, have to fly down to Italy to attend a wedding. Content with getting my lap fairly quickly here, just did about 170 kms, setting a 1’45.470 which as of now is good for 118th. We’ll take that along with an expected drop to... let’s say between 130 - 145.

In case it may help anyone behind, I’ve shared a replay of my 330 P4 lap on my profile (tagged schlafhund or naxeht). Best of luck!

Third session in the C8 and the time is coming down slowly, just like the Mustang TT here I find it quite difficult to be consistent, sliding all over the place with here and there some gearbox saus action, to time the slide for entry is challenging.
Corckscrew brakezone is a mystery, the white line keeps having a different outcome instead of speed before the cork, and I don't even mention the following up, I still haven't figured out 9..... or I am to far in and never make the exit and just collect dirt samples or I am to wide and understeer and I can't line up correctly for 10....

So still a lot to learn here bit we are making good progress!

Not the prettiest lap yet and if I look at it i see somany flaws.....but this was the best oit of a lot 🤣🤣
it's a good start!

Day 2 with the Corvette and I finally figured it out enough to get gold on both accounts. It took a lot of watching top replays and then adapting them for my driving style but I made it.

Normsk_US 1.31.510 +2.65%
Normsk_GB 1:31.655 +2.81%

I think the US one should be safe🤞 but I am not 100% on the GB one yet.

The challenge with this car is consistency. I can be 0.4s up on my best time at the end of sector 2 only to lose it in the end and finish 0.2s slower. Conversely, I can me .3s down sector 1 only to then finish within a few thousandths off my PB. If I could pull it all together I could be in the low 1:31s...

That said, I'm hoping I don't have to come back to this one now. :D

BTW I shared my US replay to the showcase if anyone wants to chase a DR B rated driver around (I actually chased my US lap on my GB account - it was a quick way to find my GB pace). Search for tags gtp and normsk.

I congratulate you my friend for having been able to improve your time in a very significant way. To have gone from 1'31'8xx to 1'31'065 in a short time !!! Well done and respect !!!👏👏💪💪
As far as I'm concerned, I was able to improve my time but unfortunately not so significantly. I went from 1'31'881 to 1'31'870. My turn this time is not as clear as my first time. I tried again tonight, I'm faster than my best lap, but I crack just before the chicane.😡😡

Thanks amigo, yeah it also took me some time to get lower, just trying and trying, trial and error, lots of sand-mowing and rocketflight to jupiter from hitting the curb to much 🤣, but for me, many miles means getting faster, but 31.870 is not a bad start!, you got this! 😁😁

@half_sourly have a nice holiday! Enjoy!

You should be able to get into the 30s if you do some money shift for the first hairpin. :sly:

@David Holliss no other assist 👍

Hi folks! I’m back and in the hot seat, not started Laguna Seca but sounds fun, love that track! I think I came P52 last time but that was thanks to @sdi_03 and others and I don’t think I’ll be able to get anywhere close to that! Maybe get a chance Monday but for now focusing on Monza madness!

Wow it’s a real tough one actually, some times I am absolutely on it with the P4 and other times it feels like I don’t understand it at all! But very rewarding when it comes off and god that sound… Epic! Imagine F1 sounded like that these days!

I feel like a yellow Ferrari is under represented on my friends leaderboard 😂😂

After struggling mightily with the Vette last night (it felt like I was driving a completely different car compared to the night before), I decided to come back to Monza today. It had been four days since I turned a lap there, and it was ugly at first as I had to get used to the car again. What was planned to be a 30 minute session turned into 2 hours. My first session was about 30 laps. My best CLEAN lap was a 1:45.9xx, a good 2 tenths off my previous best. What frustrated me more was the invalided laps that were faster, including a 45.5xx. So I decided to run 1 lap sessions, restarting after each attempt. Sometimes it helps as I'm not constantly looking at the bottom of the screen to see where I am compared to my best. If I can't see it, it can't distract me, right? There were a ton of restarts thanks to the infuriating exit of the second chicane, but I eventually nailed that one solid, penalty free, lap. I highly doubt I'll be improving on this time.

I didn't realize until I looked at my friends list that I tied to the 1 thousandth of a second, @NAXEHT's time from just a few hours earlier.

In fact, we are the ONLY two players with that time. But he gets the better ranking since he set his time before me. Dangit! :P

Haha, nice one! :D:lol:

Tackled Laguna Seca tonight. It’s a track I usually do well on race-wise, so I’m hoping I can set a strong time here. This will have to do for now though.

Congratulations on your gold!

I finally got Monza just into gold tonight and started on Laguna. Still a full second off gold at this point but I’ll give it another go tomorrow. 😁
