So next TT is on the site........ kinda.

RH leads me to believe either Gr3 or Gr4. Probably Gr4 based on it's the test course.

Evening! Quick and productive session today, a little improvement at RA but I feel like I can’t get much more out of the 919 here so this might be my lot! It’s all in that timing for turn 3 and getting it slightly wrong means death. Still, it has its charms!

As for Sainte-Croix and that silly Lambo… it takes a while to reacquaint myself with the handling of this car.. it is mad but there is still enjoyment to be had! As someone said earlier, if you keep trying you keep going faster and I think that’s because it’s so so weird and an unfamiliar track, we are all still finding ways of going faster. I’m not gonna say it’s great but… it has it’s charm!

How did you keep so much hybrid power, mine was gone by the time I hit the start line and just at the tip of the hill on the back straight?

If mine lasted that long I could have got gold 😢

It's a secret!!!!!!

Honestly the replay doesn't accurately portray the boost guage. This is with the 919; the boost is almost gone by the start line but to make sure it's full when I restart I hold both brake and accelerator going into the chicane just to get it to max before the exit! Even without doing that the boost doesn't run out in a normal lap but two laps in a row it'll not be enough for the back straight. If I know a lap isn't going to be near my PB I hold the accelerator and brake on the back straight to get it back to full before the chicane for the next lap rather than restarting.

Looks like you are trying to make your own chequered flag, brilliant times though 🔥

I did try braking through the chicane but didn't hold the accelerator too 🤦🏻‍♂️ if only I wasn't away this week I would have give it another shot, I enjoyed that one.

Yes, def. not the easiest one on a controller i have to admit, that's why i did set my gold time very soon and never looked back
it's just to nerveous for me, prob getting to old for GR.1
Plus there will be enough Road Atlanta very soon with i hope a more enjoyable combo
I gave up on RA a long time ago, I even got gold which later turned into silver, and in fact the Ds4 doesn't help with these cars.
In the Lambo, I notice that the Ds4 doesn't brake as I would like, I have to brake earlier, but as every day I take a few laps, I've found the TT funny, and I'm always decreasing my time,,, I'm already at 59.3** and the goal is 58

It’s a good trial in the end just timing over everything else which is a bit one dimensional, I love the ones where there are a few different driving styles that can be fast but with this one it’s one line and one line only plus the management of battery etc 🤯

Was desperate for a sub 1:05 time at RA but ultimately ran out of patience with that ultra precision needed to gain an extra half a tenth! Good run in the end, behind the flying Finns (@djolliea @sdi_03 🤬😁) as per usual on the friendlies board but happy with my time!! Back to Nordschleife for a bit I think now with that wonderful sliding Civic, setting a new PB there is going to be torture but I’ll have fun trying!!

I wondered if the hybrid thing was playing a part here - I confess my ignorance, but how are you supposed to 'manage' the battery?
Pass, certainly with the 919 you didn’t need to but you did have to get enough charge in it before a second or consecutive laps (see previous post!) but apparently the faster Audi involved some clever shenanigans that some got to grip with hence the fastest times being set with it at the end. I didn’t even try as I was too invested in the Porsche by then!! 😁

I managed to get Silver by first do a lot of laps and when the muscle memory was good enough I restarted after 1 lap, to take full advantage of the Hybrid system and rinse and repeat.

You need to keep the battery juiced up in order to have maximum power.

I tried the Audi VGT today and it's a bit more complicated than the Porsche 919 because the battery doesn't last for even a full lap and it only charges when you brake. That's why it's best to slightly drag the brakes in certain points during your fast lap to maintain full power.

Managed to improve my 919 record by a tenth. Now I'm done. To the next one.

The battery on the 919 charges also during high speed (at 250 km/h, ca 155 mph), but on Road Atalanta there isn't enough braking zones or long straights to charge the battery.
