New WR at Tokyo was posted recently. About 0.030 seconds faster, so not a huge margin. Looks like the lap was just about perfect except a slight lift in turn one that might have cost a thousandth of a second and also upshift to 4th before the finish line (not sure if hitting the limiter is faster or not).

There might finally be some contention here in the final days, so watch your times if you were barely in.
I was barely in, and now I'm barely out..... very upsetting

While everyone is playing in the snow, I'm still grinding (paint into walls) at Tokyo.

A little progress today! So close to that 21 lap, I actually think it might happen.

As always, my lap is shared on my profile.

I hope this holds, but it probably won't. I was struggling in the 1:47's forever before putting in a 46.7. Then this 2 tenth improvement kinda came out of nowhere despite a poor sector 1 (32.4). I actually had one random lap with a fast 31.9 first sector before setting a horrid final sector to completely blow that lap.

Smacked some new rims and paint on the Yaris and went again... man, there is just not one lap were i nail everything, always one or two turns to stuff up when you have a descent first sector... this was a first time I did hit a 31.6 S1 but I completely overshot it at the final chicane, would have been 45.5 for sure 🤪
Did sharpen my pb but not the prettiest one.....but I'm going to grind this one out i think, there is so much more in it, and you can gain time on somany places, (also loose it tho 🫣), I like this a lot more than Tokyo ...
( and I would have thought it would be the other way around ), so little progress has been made again 😁

On to the next session 😁

I do not know if this is a known issue, but I have found that speed seen while doing the current TT is different from speed shown during replay via showcase. By a considerable margin. Possibly only while sliding.

The 20 sec clip below is me doing the last two corners during my fastest lap, captured as 'record recent gameplay '. Lowest apex speed second last corner is 29mph and last corner 33mph.

The second video is the full lap, which is the same lap, replayed from Showcase, and it shows those speeds as 38mph and 41mph, respectively.

This issue appears to only affect corners as the top speed going into the second last corner appears to be the same. This doesn't surprise me, because while driving on the snow and sliding around corners, the drop in speed looked or felt wrong to me.

I presume the same speed differential applies to watching replays of top players in the TT. So if you watch those to learn from, compare them with your showcase saved laps, not your 'live' driving.

Since my last Gold time didn’t hold I had to go back.
And after 200km I finally got back to decent times and managed to get back into gold.

I feel like I have learned a lot. But I thought the same last time and it still took me ages to get back up to speed today.
I hope this will be enough.

Hats off to everyone who has the talent and/or patience to make it below 1:46.

A bit more improvement. Still don't feel that safe until I get into the 45s :scared:

I think PD owes us an easy TT next week. Say...I dunno .. special stage x with a Fiat 500 sounds about right👍
While I kinda agree, I seem to really like these ones where you get to flog a road car hard. Tokyo was super fun and this one (for me) is even more. Easy is relative. I guess. 👍👍

Reluctantly gave the Snow trial in the GR Yaris a go. I don't find the gravel/snow physics in this game to be particularly intuitive so I knew this would be a struggle. I think I strung at most 3 clean laps in a row, but the majority was 1 lap or less before a bollard was hit and the lap was invalidated.

Managed to get a 1:45.942 which places me 329th currently. This time is about 2.5% off gold, so there is a huge spread in the rankings this time around, which makes sense as rally tracks are probably amongst the least used tracks in the game.

I remember somebody here saying they were worried about the bollards being abused by an alien who could thread their way through them to create some mystical line that was unattainable for everyone else. Sad to see this has actually happened although the method for doing it doesn't seem as difficult as you might expect, but still difficult to do consistently unless you have alien level skills.

Today I plan to add some users out here as a friend on PSN. It will be nice to see where I stack up against most of you in TTs & license tests. To be honest, I don't mind being last as long as honesty is the name of the game.

When it comes to Tokyo TT, even when the lap gets invalidated in one of the first few turns, it's still fun to lap around due to the smooth flowing nature of the track. It just takes about 1 & 1/2 minutes to lap around & hearing the 400R in my headphones attached to the DS4 really keeps me awake & active to keep trying.

Update:
Noted down 49 PSN ids across 9 pages. Most don't have a PSN id so couldn't note theirs down.

Back into bronze at the snow track, by the slimmest of margins, so don't expect to stay there long!
Tokyo continues to baffle me, about half a second away from a medal but can't do it with a clean lap.
Just think, some of you are getting around nearly 10 seconds quicker...... how????? :boggled:

Had around 2 hours online yesterday after getting the wifi fixed (was the damn kitten chewing through the fibre cable 🤦🏻‍♂️).

Did the 5 weekly challenges.

Got bronze in the snow, only did 7 laps and wasn't really into it.

Didn't have a go at Tokyo as I really wanted to improve on Brands Hatch but could only get 0.126 behind my best time, will give this another shot before it ends and hopefully the kitten will leave the cables alone for it 😂🤞🏻

First day on Tokyo and I think I’m maxed out and feeling the same about the snow at this point. I did manage a silver that should hold but lots of invalid laps to get it.

Wow! Great result in Tokyo after only one day. I'm still struggling and can't even gold the CE over a full lap (neither Tokyo nor in the snow). I would appreciate it If you load your fastest lap to use as a ghost. Anyway, psn-invitation is out (apaul3133).

Plowing whites this morning in another quick little session in the Yaris
Funny how easy some corners feel in one session, and how difficult the same corner can be during another session.
I think i restarted 9 out of 10 laps because i could't find the right yeeet angel for T1.
It's kind of a delicate spot where you can just lift off the throttle, use the bump to get the Yaris rotated, and wait long enough to get back on the throttle without hitting the last bollard.

BUT...... when you do hit it 1 out of 10..... it's so satifying feeling it gripping up high on the bank!
Fastest lap of this morning session felt better than the one yesterday, altho i started getting nerveouse a bit when i saw my S1 was a
31.492 :D:D...... but those are the laps you normally stuff up ...., this time i didn't

There is absolutely more to gain for me, but i'm kind of proud i almost placed top 100 ( 109 at the time ) with this one.

If you need some assistance you could share your lap and we can take a look and give advices if you want?

Given your regular top 100 appearances, I think it is time you change your signature...

"DualSense, motion steering, manual transmission, hard difficulty. I am average driver, playing Gran Turismo since beginning 2022, B driver rating. GT7 100% Senior age person. PSN Highlanderlast"

Haha, interesting thing psychology, I do not see myself as some alien so what would you suggest me to put there, just remove "I am average driver" or to change it to something? Lets hear what you and others say?

ok....., i think i speak for the majority of the players and visitors here.....

"I do not see myself as some alien"......., i think if you are often within top 100 of the world, that kind of classifies you as abnormal
so maby you can add Abducted but in denial to your signature :lol:

Late dash for me before going on holiday to improve my Silver time in the 400R.

Red lap after red lap, but I'm not knocking it. This circuit is so much fun and flows nicely with this car.

20+ laps in I went deep into Gold territory, satisfyingly matching my Optimum after many wing mirrors got replaced from the slightest of wall nicks. I think my leaderboard position at time of writing is around 650. Just about top 2%, IIRC

As i'm using a pad for this TT, going to meticulously study this replay from a pad veteran @Gomario JSP 🧐

I don't know if you are familiar with Top Gear (and I mean the Clarkson, May, Hammond version, not the latest dross), but I reckon a Stig-style introduction would do the trick.

Some say he is the lovechild of Ronnie Peterson and Petter Solberg and that his fantasises involve leaderboard improvements. All we know is that he's called Barareklam.
