.... and the cat!!!
blasphemy-lies (1).gif

Did a run of 8 laps today and:

Sector 1: from 31:209 to 31:558 - Could be ok for gold
Sector 2: from 39:727 to 40:022 - Could be ok for gold
Sector 3: from 43:289 to 43:458 - ... :banghead::irked::banghead::irked::banghead: ...

Best lap: 1:54.667
Optimal: 1:54.225

My current record is 1:54.3xx :nervous:

I don't understand: the 1st day of this TT, every lap was easy, almost smooth, and the car was fun but driveable.
Since, the end of the circuit is just a nightmare and I'm unable to understand what I'm doing wrong in this ***** 3rd sector.

So I made it after probably about another 20 laps but not happy with it as it was not tidy, many apexs missed and the damn frame drop was happening at every sector change.

I will definitely run this one again as it's fun and there is definitely a much better lap in there for me.

I've been watching the current WR lap at TM. We talk often about close, but take a look at how close they were to a red Lap at T2.

Just wild.

Inches. Absolutely remarkable precision and/or luck.
@GlockPants....

Ahhh! The difference between great and greatness. Catastrophe and victory. Quick and &^%*$£( !!!! :)

Best regards to all here.

Ian.

Pretty good day in the Ardennes.
Substantial improvement of 8 tenths over previous session.
Finally did very solid first sector, then I lost few tenths in 2nd to take it back in 3rd.

Still there are few corners that I know I can do better, so the 40s can be doable if it's possible to put it all in one lap.
I will need to return to this later because right now I lost the ability to navigate turn 1
Too much Spa for one day I guess...

Keeping away from the bollards

Toyota Supra default setup is ****ing CRAP. Understeer in braking, understeer to snap oversteer in corner exit.
I hate it because with some minor tweaks the car becomes quite good.
I wonder why Kaz/PD do this. They should give much better default setups than this

The Alfa on the other hand, is good by default.

It's so weird as I think the supra is pretty well set up. I feel the Alfa is not like the ones I've driven. They don't move about as much for a start. They are in Elise chassis's

Never driven a GT500 car but imagine they are fairly brutal if you aren't smooth with them.

I improved too in my evening session.
But what a shame I didn't went into 52s when was a big chance!
After record (ever) delta 1 and 2, I destroyed everything in last three corners!!
It was boiling in me while I was reliving that left hander, then right hander and chicane for the end...

However, I posted 1:53.275 and now my gold is safer.

You can see here, first two deltas on the edge, then big mistakes and losing a lot:

With the GTWS Exib Manus back I didn't invest any time into the TTs as of late. And, with Daytona RC slated for Daily C next week, today was the day to knock them out.

Because of the other things going on, for these two good enough is good enough. Not great times but they should all stick.

What do you guys think of this?

Bronze: 10% (250k)
Silver: 5% (1 mil)
Gold: 3% (3 mil)
Platinum: 2% (5 mil)
Diamond: 1% (7.5 mil)

That'd be cool, yea? It would incentivize players like me who don't much care to keep pushing for times once safely inside gold.

I'd like 3 mil for gold but don't go stroking the aliens ego's for the 1% otherwise they will be probing us all 👽

You can see us all slip-sliding around in our replays. Then I watch this. How in the world are you so smooth exiting the corners??
I paid extra attention to my steering input. I made sure max steering input only happen when the car was at it's slowest, and I would only unwind the steering when applying power. Also, I rolled into the throttle in a more delibrate fashion, so boost increased more gradually.

In short, I tried not to over drive the car. Practicing my own advice ...."Slow is smooth, smooth is fast"

This is the way.

Ahem....

This was the first WRS, nearly 21 years ago. Not totally sure that's an accident on PD's part. But certainly a nod to bygone times.

Currently in gold, but only very narrowly. However, I have improved around 3 tenths every day so far, so if my math is correct, I should end up snatching the world record. Watch this space! ;)
Still on track! :D

Seriously though, there should be at least a few more tenths out there for me. I watched @Gomario JSP 's replay and noticed that I am not even 0.3 seconds behind him after the first two sectors, but then I lose almost a second in the last. Will study the replay some more to see what I'm doing wrong, although I have a strong suspicion that I'm simply too late on the throttle in the final chicane. Anyway, here's my lap, also shared in-game.

When the frustration creeps in is when the TT actually begins. ;)
💯, no pain no gain :) ... so keep fighting!
