I was skeptical at first when I saw the new TT. Lago Maggiore East in reverse is not a track I particularly like. I had never driven it before, so I was all the more surprised that I got into it relatively quickly. That's definitely down to the Civic, which is really wonderful to drive.
The only disadvantage is that you really have to take a lot of shortcuts, which I generally don't like.
Anyway, at the end of my first stint, the fastest time was 1:27.235. That's currently P8 in the world
There are still about 2 tenths to go, let's see if I can get the lap together.

Well....the Logitech G Pro (replacement) finally arrived this morning! Testing out the new toy immediately with the Civic of course....I was expecting to be much slower since I have to adjust to the new wheel and pedals (both are much heavier!)
I guess I was wrong.......improved by nearly 2/10s after a 20 laps session.....
Now I can really feel what the car is doing mid corner. Some of the corners were very nervous with the G923 because I don't know what the car is about to do..now I'm like....ooh...the car is fine...keep going! Also it kinda solve my problem of my not turning enough when I'm getting close to the apex.
Obligated cat (not) helping pic.

I wasn't able to better my best but I'm really close and I found a couple little things where I can make up time. I'm also much more consistent in the first turn today than I've been so I think I can get a tenth or two still. I really enjoy just lapping this car at this track very much. What a well balanced TT!

My effort at Lago Maggiore over the weekend (on my alt). Love the opportunity to use my favourite JTCC livery!
Very much struggled at the 2nd half of the lap especially that (supposingly) high speed left hander - tried all sort of different lines just to get slower 😂 would dearly love any tips from you all

I finally had some time to work at the new TT.
But first I had to create a livery. I decided to create a tribute to the Honda RA272. A car that almost justifies the entire VR experience.
The style is shared and open to editing should anyone care to have it.
Now onto the track!
I decided to take a new approach to starting this trial. I have never been in this configuration before, so I created a custom 10 lap race. One make and as difficult as I could make it for some modest credits.
Now that I had a lay of the land, it was time to set a lap.
Well, I think it went well. I actually set a Gold time on Lap 2. But I knew I had more, so I pushed on until I got 20 laps in. PB at lap 19.
I didn't realize until watching my replay that my TC was set to 1 for my grid start SF race yesterday. Tomorrow I'll study the WR laps and load a ghost. But not bad at all having no reference and slowed down by TC.
Here's the replay.

This approach is very very smart - thanks so much for the suggestion - and I'll use this "trick" starting tomorrow!!
Mostly for improving my skills & laping with less stress and less pression (90%) and (10%) for the credits.
And of course, congrats for your new gold score!

I had thought of it because during the Trial Mountain TT, I'd run a single player race there as a warm up. But that doesn't exist in the normal events for LM East Course Reverse. Make sure you Gold the CE to get max credits!
But I think it works great at what @Evilmuffin suggested for going at 90% pace. Usually your race pace is slower than hot laps. It doesn't hurt either that the Civic is a pleasure to drive. It's a great car for one make races.

Nervous I was, but it held. Now I had gold by a whooping 2 thousands at the Nurb and really didn't want to try my luck. After 15 laps I finally got a time that should be safe.
Afterwards I did about 15 laps at LM but without any preparation. Not there yet but optimum is already quite close to gold. There is so much time there in the fast sweepers and weird corner progressions that I am confident that I will get there.
I also started applying liveries for the first time for the Nations Cup race at Interlagos yesterday. I think I am addicted now.
Your half decent and my half decent ... are not the same. Well done!

Had a productive Sunday evening session at the Lago. The Civic just handles sooo nicely. It's also the rare car where I didn't even think about turning assists on. I often go back and forth between different combinations of TC1, ASM and Countersteering Assistance, but here they all felt completely unnecessary.
Currently at 1:28.414, and I'll surely return in the next days and maybe, just maybe, sneak into the top 1,000?
Also, funny how my best lap didn't even have one of my fastest sectors.

Spent about 30 minutes with the Civic, now down to 1:31.528, about 3 tenths from Silver. Now I’m a bit more motivated.

Can’t get enough of the LM TT in the Civic - what a well matched but challenging combo. Ran a 30 lap session (with one restart) - pulled a tenth out of my best lap and two tenths out of my optimal splits. Line of sight now to a sub-1:28 which has to be the goal here (if only to keep me ahead of the impending onslaught from @GlockPants 
). Much fun, although I’m starting to see exciting splits and get a little wobbly towards the end of the lap - #21 was going quite well until I braked one marker too early for the left at the top of the hill 😂

Meh. Wanted to go under 1:28 tonight, but it wasn't happening. I'm just too inconsistent through every sector right now.

Had a longer session this evening (30 laps) - optimals have improved a little from this afternoon at 27.7 but PB has now dropped a tenth and FINALLY I’m in the 27’s. Went through a period of forgetting how to do sector 3, but this lap is pretty good. Will keep chasing as and when I get the chance this week, but if I don’t get any more time or don’t improve, I’m relatively happy with this.

Basically meI wish I could be this disciplined
I go in all guns blazing, overcook it on the first corner 10-15 times, get angry, blame PD for making a terrible game, shout at the imaginary wife, swear I’m going to quit and never play again, kick my imaginary dog, then eventually enter a zen like trance and nail it on the 40th attempt
*this approach is not socially, medically or scientifically recommended.
NB: ‘first corner’ is a misnomer, I usually bin it well before I’ve even started a lap
I think time is an issue as well. I only have time for maximum effort laps I guess.

You guys are putting in some crazy numbers in the Civic. I managed to snag a gold with it in the few first days, but I haven’t revisited Lake Maggiore and I’ve since dropped into silver. I’ll have to head back there once I’m done at the Nurburgring.
Just got into the mid 2:24’s today with the RX-8 (around 2:24.540 or so), putting me in around 5,000th place. Will have to keep pushing.
I also managed to snag myself the GT7 platinum trophy today thanks to all the time trial payouts!

I have no idea how it works but I have heard of sharing a ghost here often enough? I believe that we are at a similar skill level and would be very grateful if I could see a lap of a guy that I can at least dream of matching.
Congrats on the Platinum! My plan is to get it till the end of the year but no idea how much of a grind it really is.

Never had one of these, but I'm close as well. One of the last trophies is the "Three legendary cars" trophy. The only car I still need for this is the Ferrari 330 P4 which went on sale recently for 20 million credits. Think I have to complete some more CE's to be able to afford that
If a lap is shared (mine is), you can look it up in the showcase section, then add it to your collection. In the TT ghost menu, you can then access your collection and select it from there.
Also sent you a friend request. If you accept that, you can just browse the "people i'm following" section in the showcase.
