Add to this the fact that the new TT sounds much more like my cup of tea ... yeah I think I'll move on.
... and what a fine blend it is. Went in with the 458 without watching any lap guide. Had a solid silver after 3 laps. Then loaded the fastest 458 ghost and followed it for 3 more laps and achieved a safe gold already. I don't think this has ever happened this fast for me before. And I didn't even spin out once 🤯

In other words, this combo makes me feel like I'm actually competent at the game. Feels nice for a change (wink at Genesis VGT) ;)
I'm sure I'll come back for more, and try a few other cars as well.
 
Finally got myself a workable TV - the last one blew up when I was on my way to Monza for the TT, so I haven’t had a chance to drive the Genesis VGT until now.

Now that I’ve spent about four hours sitting in that disgusting thing I’m thinking I should have kept the PlayStation unplugged a bit longer.

Just barely managed to slide into a gold with a high 1:28 (about 2.95% off the top drivers). I don’t think that’s a safe gold time, but I also don’t know if I can face the orange trauma again…
 
I don't really like Autopolis but in a Group 4 car it's not too bad because you actually have a bit of time to think about what you're doing. In a Super Formula you have to be extremely accurate with your steering or you'll go straight off the road. Accuracy is less important with a slower car, so I managed to beat the gold time on my second lap in the Mazda 3. However I wasn't satisfied with my efforts, fearing an imminent drop into the silver bracket. After a few more laps I pulled a 1:55.297, which should keep me safe.
Well I've had a look to my Gr.4 rooster and I can use my beloved Silvia, so I know which car I'll use, even if it may not be the best.

Well, I hopped into the TT before reading all the posts in the thread and went immediately to the meta. Whoops, sorry! :lol:

I didn't watch @Tidgney or theKie's lap guides before making my run. My instincts were almost right. I stayed in 4th in the long left between the hairpins as well as turn 13. Shifting to 3rd may help me a bit with more rotation. I was also short shifting. I think my brain was still in Genesis mode... It looks like they're hitting the rev limiter before shifting. Other than that, the lap could have been better if not for so-so hairpins.

And I was proud of myself seeing who I was above until I realized they weren't using the meta. :P And it is still only day 1. And the Muffin Man has already improved his time with a new car (though still just below me). And... :D

Just ran Autopolis for a short stint and got gold fairly easily. This will be one with a high % of golds I predict.

I know my eyesight is failing me but I got my first gold thinking I was running the 458. When I looked at the leader board I realized it was the F-type! :D



I then went out in the Supra and did it again.



I've since taken another 1/2s off that to be at 1:55.3 something.

Now to try some other cars. I like the open Gr.4 choice with no tuning (not even BB) options.

Oh boy, a Group 4 TT at Autopolis, one of my favorite tracks. Let's see how this goes. I achieved silver on the Civic one, so I'm happy with my time, 1'31.110, just below the brink of it. So, what cars are you guys gonna use at Autopolis?

Mid engine is the way to go for me. I tried the Taikyu Mazda and it wasn’t up to scratch. The Supra seems the pick of bunch, but I didn’t fancy it.
 
Thank you ! Now everyone can see that I am last and not even in bronze, I'll have to amend that tonight 🤣 hopefully I'll be in bronze and in front of @seadog777 and @OldandSlow 😁 don't thank me guys, it is a gratuitous kick in the balls, now I run away with my shame 😅

Been there and done that, now in bronze in front of @seadog777 and @OldandSlow feel free to improve and push me down in the bottom of the rankings, I don't want to ear anymore of this combo !!

And 5min later I was doing the weekly at Monza with the same car

Not to worry, I'm wearing my cup. :) That Genesis is all yours. I'm done with it, (unless I fall out of Bronze).

Ran a 2:00.399 with the Bugatti. Three secs. into Bronze, 2 secs. out of Silver. I'll try some other cars.
 
I got my time down to a 1:55.156 which is a +2.22% top 2000 time.

But there is a lot more potential in me. My optical is mid 1:54s.

However, whenever I see my time delta is up significantly I tend to crash. So I’m trying the masking tape method.

1:56:087 after some laps in the new one. In the Gr.4 Ferrari. 2,57%. I guess it won't hold but some tenth less should be possible. A lot of of places around Autopolis where you can f. up your lap.

Ferraris, Mazdas and a lit if Supras in the top 100.

Tidgney first in front of TheKie. Thats a YT-battle. :-)
Didn't even hold for one day. Back there i did a 1:55,766. So 3/10 before i am out again. Let's see.

I tried desperately to get into the 1:54s but getting tired and the effects of a beer got too much. Optimal is still mid 1:54s but just haven’t strung it together yet.

Oh, that was with the F-Type.

Ooooh noo..... @Evilmuffin , he did not...... he went for it.......jumped right into the meta and blasted our times, that deserves a real Muffin 💩 :lol::lol:, naah, good to see you up there!, that's not a bad start! :):)...but....

I was determined to stick with the GT-R until I feel that there is nothing more in it, and maby.... if i have tried multiple cars ( or everybody does ) i hop in the meta before it ends, but for now i find it quite amusing to use the GT-R here...

This morning it wasn't even in the top 100, so should be a nice challenge!

And i was ALMOST there....Nooooooooo :lol::lol::lol:
It's def. in the cards, but requires a very smooth lap, and i have still trouble getting the thing rotated on uphill curves, downshifting, braking, it all just not seems to get it moving....

I'll pick another car when i hit the 53's :)

Hmm i'm not sure what i'm doing wrong in this new TT. Tried a bunch of different cars and my Laps are mostly 1:58 which is ways away from gold 🤔 maybe it's because i've switched to MT and need to get the hang of it more or something
On this combo the first thing i noticed compared to the previous two TT's is that you very easy overdo it, the GR4 cars realy lack downforce and the only thing you can realy do about it is smoothen your lines and minimize sliding, better to coast for a moment then beeing to far of the line, you'll never get back on it and loose a ton of time.

The MT def going to help you out, here , the next, and everywere, just more controle, good set to change!

Back from a work trip. Didn't manage to get any more time on the Civic TT, so had to settle for silver on that one, sadly! I'm fairly sure I could have pushed that thing into the gold zone...

Anyways, new TT at Autopolis looks like my kinda scene! Loads of different cars getting golds just looking through this thread, so I'm keen to try a few different cars out and see what sticks best! Hoping the AMG SLS Gr.4 is competitive - I love driving that thing! Anyone tried it??

Thanks for the tips mate. I'll have to figure out which car i wanna go for and go from there i think :-) the Mazda3 felt pretty solid. But wanna test some others first

Yeah i only tried the GT-R so far, i think it's not the quickest, but it does exit the slower corners nicely with my driving style :lol:
When you have a clean lap in just throw it on here and we will find you some time ;):)
