I figured it out by lining the car against the track and marking my TV.
Episode 1 Applause GIF by Friends

but car width with bumper cam is always a feeling thing for me, good idea to figure it out more precisely

Decided to try out some different cars just for fun.

Tried the s15 again....yeah nope, can't get any decent time off of it.

Aston Martin....fairly similar to the Corvette, I can't seem to get the car to turn.

WRX and the Alfa 155 are surprisingly good. Powering out of those hairpins is extermely good with these 2 cars. But again....the understeery nature of the 4wd (more so in the Alfa) just kills them in the 3rd sector. I got them both to the low 54.1s. With some work, I can probably get them into the 53s.

Going to try a few more cars after dinner.
Same here, the S15 sound awesome, feels awesom... just the times are not awesom, i realy like the handling a lot, shame it's not that quick here, can't get that into the 53...
The 4wd is indeed very descent out of the hairpins and those are just my error points on track, i'm so having a hard time when it's a slow exit, that GT-R almost does it itself, but it just lacks some speed i guess.
This morning i went for a run in the AMG, and didn't hit a thing....., maby it's the navy mat green i slapped on it, makes it a second slower.. couldn't even get it into the 53's so chose to run a few laps in the 650S, that is kind of a surprise for me, i think i can win some time with it, i was at 53.888 at the end with some descent flaws in the hairpins :grumpy::grumpy:

I almost enjoy more to try different cars then to hunt for that inimini progression in time!

One final push at Monza (I didn't want to put if off until the last day tomorrow) and finally, finally! I get the sub 38 I was aiming for. As helpful as it was to have TC at 1 earlier, I could definitely get through the corners faster with TC 0. It made Ascari a heck of a lot easier. I just had to be extremely careful and patient with the throttle. This TT can be put to bed and I can get back to Autopolis.

I was starting to lose my mind with all the low 38's. I still didn't have a great sector 1 on my fast lap, but the others made up for it.

And frustratingly right under @Gomario JSP after all is said and done! :irked::lol:

That is a great result mate!...., and to close for comfort for me :lol:, but not going back to Monza, one week was Mooooorrreee that enough there :lol:
Good to see you so close again, on a not so easy one....... the Mojo is back! ;):):)
After reading @Gomario JSP's love poem to the Supra, I decided to give the GTR a go. It is slower through S1 for me as well, but its a different animal through the rest of the lap. 1:54s are a possibility for me with this one.
Yes, that GT-R is so good out of the slower turns, IF you get it rotated it's a real beast, sounds so good aswell!
It was the first car i got into the 53's, and prob can lower my time a bit again with it, but other cars are tempting

Great work Gogga!

I had another go at Monza. After 250+ miles I was questioning my sanity. I kept on getting within thousandths of my prior (not safe) gold but wasn’t beating it. 90% of laps were getting invalidated. I was pushing too hard and over driving.

About to give up I pulled out a beer (non-alcoholic of course - can’t be drinking and driving now!). It was citrusy and refreshing.

I short while later I got this.

Only took 284 miles. Hopefully this one should be safe now, as long as @EbrahimX7 doesn’t put it in the 35s.

In my attempts I kept on putting a wheel on the grass and spinning out. I usually drive roof cam but for this I was doing bumper and I don’t know the width of the car. I figured it out by lining the car against the track and marking my TV. View attachment 1325780

You may laugh but it works!

GT7 | TT 24-06 | Gold again, but this one might be safe

Nice time there, I had to give up because I ran out of patience on this, it is way to fast for me to keep it under control so I sold it for over 500k credits! I'm moving on to Autopolis.

Another day, another car... Some mate in this lovely corner of the web mentioned the Genesis Gr.4 and I hadn't realised till that moment that such a car exists. I changed the colour and went for a short stint of 5 laps as with every other car so far. Right from the start it felt good and lap number 5 was a new PB and I reached my goal of a sub-55 lap! That was awesome!

Unfortunately I had afterwards some issues with the QR2 and couldn't go on. Hopefully this gets fixed quickly to return to the Gr.4-candyshop... (haven't tried the Mercedes yet, for example)

As usual my lap is published and if I can reach gold, you can do it, too. Greetings everyone!

I recorded three top 100 replays for me to keep looking at, I'm motivated, I'm gonna give the Monza TT one more shot at silver/gold. I'm gonna pay close attention to their braking points and gears they use if they drive the MT way. I know using a controller is much easier than using a wheel, so i'm sticking with what I've been doing since my debut with GTS in Summer 2021.

So, let's get those engines fired up!!

I think it's not that black and white that the controller is much easier than the wheel, i think both have their advantage and disadvantage, steering input like catch a code brown moment seems to be more easy on a controller what i hear, but i think trailbraking must be far better on the paddles and wheel.

But Chris, go for it, good luck on your gold hunt, you got this

Well I doubt that tuning up my Vision car will help, I'll try it. But I'm most likely going to aim for silver, gold seems really challenging to get, I mean I would have to spend at least 20-30 hours doing it and I really have limited time.

EDIT: you know what I changed my mind, I think the Group 4 Autopolis TT would be more smoother for me to gold, at least we won't be dealing with powerful Vision cars, xD. All I have is my mother and grandpa, I don't have any brothers or sisters, I wish I did, xD. hey are a first priority and I'm not going to push myself for 2M, there's other easier ways to earn money in the game. So, Autopolis it is!

The rest of my family, grandma are narcissists and abuse us, so we are away in another county of our state. That's the sole reason why I joined GTplanet was to find a more loving, helpful and supportive community other than my evil family. And to escape the drama.

It definitely won't...

Yo can of course put a livery on it that makes you go faster! At least one you like anyway.... LOL.

Day 2 at Autoplolis. But first time ever driving the SLS AMG.

It's quite nice being far from the Sea of Red Laps at Monza. I think I had 1 out of 14 invalidated.

Decent progress over my time in the Porsche from my first stint. But my shoulders and neck were beginning to feel sore just as I was setting faster and faster laps. I'll come back to it after watching the WR time.

Monza "safe" gold went into Silver by 3,01%... Trying to get back to gold but I'm not even getting close... @EbrahimX7 what have you done, you just cost me 1m credits 😢😢😢
😆😆 sorry man, im enjoying this while it last because im sure we will not get a similar car for a long long time and we will go back to slow boring cars again 😭.. gonna do one last session and im aiming for anywhere in 35.9s. But i may not improve anyways, as its becoming difficult to chip away some time 😅 but i know its there to get. Just waiting for that total zen lap

Well, hey, if you don't get it, you already won first place! Can you do it also using a controller? I'm asking b/c I wonder if it's possible scoring in the low 36's using a wireless controller.

I gave you a "poo" emoji as my gold is too close :D

What would be a 35.9 gold time? 1:38.777.

NO! you can't do that! My gold is .... 1:38.815 I'm just not worthy

Got scared by @EbrahimX7's announcement that he will push for a 1:35.9, which would throw me out of gold as well, so I gave it another go, but couldn't improve.

Man this car with these tyres reminds me of these backwards bicycles where you have to push the handle bars to the right to go left and vice versa. Sure it's a great challenge and you can certainly amuse bystanders by falling off every 5 meters, but no one in their right mind would use it to get from A to B. It just doesn't make sense as a vehicle, it only exists to mess with your brain. But I came here to ride a bike. I mean drive a car. I mean... you know... :)

Still, to each their own, I'm genuinely happy for those who enjoy it. It's amazing what some of you can do with this thing.

Logged in after a couple days today and it looks like Jeddah kicked me out of Gold by a smidge @ Monza. My optimal lap is still showing me a 1:38.486, so if I can string together one clean lap I can definitely make it back in there. But I've done about 40 laps today and I can't manage to get lower than a 1:39 flat for an actual timed lap.

Frustrating.
