Depends on how you look at it.

You could simply say the SLS AMG has the quickest two times (this morning when I got the data) so that is quickest. The first Ferrari was tenth at that point. Still quite a few Supras high up too.

You could also say the SLS and Ferrari have some of the slowest times, so they might be difficult cars to drive.

Here is the raw data, sorted by MIN time.

Interesting stuff. Still the medium may be better than average to remove the outliers.

Hey hey, long time no see on this thread :D Didn't really play "competitively" for quite a while, but this TT got me interested.

I got the gold in like 3 laps, main thing was realising just how much grip there is on soft tires, it's crazy, usually I'm used to RH or RM in Gr3. Lap by lap I improved, tenth here, tenth there, got it down to 2:00.5xx but then all of a sudden I got some crazy middle sector, and when I turned on my ghost on the back straight I was ahead by 2 car lenghts (and the ghost is set to 0.3 offset). So there was the 1:59.xxx lap, and like always I chickened out and got conservative for the last 3 corners to not screw up everything, and lost about 2 or 3 tenths...

Nevertheless, I'm very happy with this time, and I will push to go below 2 mins, I now know it's doable, just need to nail the lap :)

Mt panorama is a good track if a hard one.

147th in world early doors feeling good about myself.

TWO SECONDS OFF THE LEADER. TWO.

Watch his lap from onboard cam. What TF is that. Jesus Christ. So so so close. The middle section is unbelievable. Fair play. He's 8 tenths clear of 10th. One of the most ridiculous laps I've ever seen fair play!

Day 1 at Mout Panorama, and as I did at Autopolis I started driving a car that I enjoy and I'm familiar with. So, I pick up the Porsche.

For my surprise touching the walls wasn't the real problem for me as I expected. Or even the curbs. The downhill section was. So, after a short(ish) session of 30-40 minutes I managed to get within the silver window. There's more time if I'd just could find it in the downhill maze section.

To get a really good lap around Bathurst you need to scrape the wall a few times, so the instant penalty you get when you do scrape it slightly is annoying. Anyway commitment is everything here - the more risks you take, the bigger the reward will be. Like Peter Brock said, good tracks have consequences and pit falls are everywhere on this crazy piece of tarmac. You have to attack this course with an intense level of focus because the smallest slip can cost you dearly. I failed several times in the 2020 AMG GT3 trying to extract the absolute maximum from myself, but I was very pleased with the end result - a 2:01.046 despite a less than ideal first and second sector.

Mount Panorama, the track that I'm absolutely in love with but at the same time the track where I absolutely suck lol
Thank goodness it's Gr 3 cars this time, last encounter of this track in TT was with wonky Maserati MC20.
Opted out for BMW M6 because I'm sick of even seeing (let alone driving) the ever-popular Genesis.
Was surprised to break into the Gold time after about 20 mins of practice. Not sure if 2:01.3 will be good enough for gold though, gotta keep clocking those miles and stay away from the walls. Those walls are dreadful, but it's so satisfying to fly around this track when you nail it.

So, what's everyone's plan for getting gold at the mountain? Mine is to watch tons of top driver replays and study their moves and braking points on the track.
If I don't know the track well or feel rusty on it, as someone else said here recently, I might run the Circuit Experience to dust off the rust.

Then, I usually run a stint of laps on my own to see how I can perform on whatever basic skill I have.

Then I'll watch @Tidgney and sometimes TheKie's replays to see where I'm not hitting the right line or braking point.

Then I'll go back and apply those techniques to see how much I can improve often also chasing their ghost, which usually helps.

I'm happy to say that over time, I get farther and farther on my own. It used to be that my skill could get me into silver and then the extra help from the videos/ghosts could push me into gold. Now more often I can get into gold or very close on my own, and then the additional hints push farther into safety.

As with anything, practice pays off over time.

Depends on how you look at it.

I always use the ghost of TheKie25 or @Mistah_MCA , thanks to them both !!

Well as someone say, Genesis+monza was an easy one 🤣🤣.
Took me 6 lap to even managed to have a clean one not a bronze started with the hurricane .
Then i tried various GT3 i own Renault , super silhouette , Ford , Audi and Porsche.
Choose to have a go with Porsche .
So after maybe 15 lap i managed to do 2.07.704.
Slow but bronze , and now i put away the need to have at least the bronze and if i come back on it as i really enjoyed it , i will have a free mind to attack.
For the moment was more a fight to keep car inside track 🤣🤣🤣 , no real braking point , accelerate when i feel was safe enough etc 😂😂✌️
Hope you all will enjoyed it and managed to get your goal.

After over 200km of driving, I finally strung together a lap I was happy with. I generally will avoid driving the meta car, but the GTR seems pretty competent, if a bit skittish. There's still a few tenths to be had, mainly in sector 1 and the Dipper (a 2:01.5 was the optimal). I'm super impressed by the guy in 1st, almost 2 tenths in front of everyone else! Hopefully that means my time is safe... Feel free to add me on PSN, I need some times to chase ;)

10 more laps at Autopolis with the Ferrari this morning before getting to work.

No improvement of the best lap but worst lap time was only a 1:57, medium was the lowest with 1:56.895 and optimal lowest too at 1:55.701 (clear gold)

Only S3 was improved on overall sector times.

This TT brings back memory of my own visit to Bathurst back in 2017 for the 12 hours race, and was my 1st ever in person attendance of any GT3 races. Was rooting for the factory McLarens though unfortunately #59 was retired after Quali and #1 lost 5 laps early on. At least it regained all those lost laps to finish 5th overall.

So guess which car I picked for this TT. 😉 Now at 2:00.748, would really like to get into 1:59!

One of the (too) many photos I took during that race. 🙂

It's coming, it's coming, keep on!!!

Well...... Bathurst......what a scenery..... just beautiful, the lightning.... the greens..... the sky..... and every I lap take T1, stamp on the throttle in second gear and as soon as the grip fight is over i look left at the sun....., and i did a lot of it this morning.... over and over again   .
This combo realy doesn't bring out the best in me, Gr.3 and Bathurst, for me..... nr.1 most difficult track in GT7, Nordschleife ain't got nothing on it.....

you just have -100 % NO room for error and it looks like just NOT hitting the wall on you exit does already invalidate your extreme work you did....this is even a workout op PAD

It was a long time ago where i didn't gold a TT in the first few laps, but for me this one took almost 200km to even gold it this morning, and only a handfull of laps were valid, the hole "i am mister full send from the start without any buildup" kind of made it very difficult for me here :lol:

I love it tho, but it's going to be a real struggle for me trying to catch my leaderboard!

BRAVO even if it's not yet the most shiny medal, you deserve a huge BRAVO for your perseverance!!
It's only a matter of time and patience, you just need to string your best sectors all together.

If I can add my 2 cents :)

The Ferrari is an excellent choice for Autopolis: excellent brakes, excellent grip, excellent speed!!

Sector 1: 22:300 is the max here but close as possible to 22:000 to maximize your chance to lower your final score.
Sector 2: 38:000 would be perfect to score at 1:00.000 (or below) before the hairpin.
Sector 3: 55:700 gives you the keys to the gold club.

Once again, you're already in gold with your best sectors. Just need to gain few tenths to gain here and there :)

GO GO GO !!

Currently my best sectors are as follow :

Sector 1 : 22.014
Sector 2 : 37.908
Sector 3 : 55.588

"Just" need to string them all together 😅
