I was busy for a day or two and this thread posts ... oh my dear... so many posts to catch up, New TT... this car, that car..... Amazing guys, keep up good work!!!
 
What is it with these TTs and horrid undriveable Genesis (Genesises? Genisi?)?
Sticking with the RCZ (nice round the twisty bits, a bit underpowered on the straights) and the reliable old 911.
Gold seems out of the question, somewhere around a 4% silver would be fine for me.

So far Genesis is the meta, it's a bit tricky to put the power down compared to lets say a Supra or AMG, but damn it's fast.

Historically MR cars don't do very good on the downhill here, but maybe RS tires solved the problem, I didn't try any so far.

Tried the RSR, Genesis and 458 yesterday. 458 does great in T1 and up the hill, but the dipper gets me everytime, no matter how smooth i try to take it. Rest of the track is pretty good again. You can brake way later and also be on throttle earlier than in other cars (at least my opinion).
RSR feels very good, lacks speed compared to the Genesis. Still i think RSR is my go to car this week as it's just nicely planted out of the corners.
Best time a 2:02:5xx so far.

This is good to hear - I have a fresh RSR from the roulette wheel of doom and some of my fastest liveries are on the RSR! Time to dig through the back catalogue and get something suitable for tackle the mountain.
 
So, Group 3 at Mount Panorama:
  • love the car selection
  • love the track
  • really suck at it :D

All in all a pretty good indicator that I will spend quite some time with it. Unfortunately I'll be away the whole next week, so let's see how much I can do over the weekend.

I did a 90 minute session yesterday with no further guidance and only barely dipped into silver with the Genesis X, so let's see how far I can take it from there. I didn't really have a big problem with invalidated laps, I guess this just means I didn't push it enough yet.
 
New test today in few lap in Autopolis and a few short laps and I decided to change Gr.4 and try the Ferrari 458. And I'm really surprised because by making a few mistakes I managed to do as well as my best lap with the 650S. With a time of 1'54'6xx and an optimal time of 1'54'0xx, I think I can get closer to 1'53. Now I have to be consistent and, above all, concentrate.
 


Gotta say, not a huge fan of this track. I remember this being one of the hardest circuit experiences for me to complete.

First tried with the Ferrari GT3 but it's too slow on the straights, then the Genesis X because it seems to be the Meta but it doesn't suit me at all.

Then switched to the RX-Vision for 3 Laps because i gotta work soon, but this car is a lot nicer in corners and still fast on the straights. I just botch the uphill corners everytime - hate tracks with walls 😂

Anyone got some other car suggestions? Going for Gold on this one as my Autopolis gold seems safe enough.

You could join the movement and hop in the Porsche RSR...
 
I'm terrible at the mountain.. This one is going to be a tough gold for me (if at all). The Toyota GT500 is fast here though. I can easily pass @Metalgear9493 ghost at the end of the straight after the mountain. I fly by when the ghost resets. Car lengths. I can't understand how I'm so slow everywhere else. Oh wait. No turns on the straight. 😂😂😂

I will say that I totally enjoy the struggle though. This track has been very difficult for me for as long as it's been a part of the game. I think the circuit experience there took me the longest of any I've golded. Hopefully I'll have the time to grind it because that's what it's going to take.

I didn't take a screenshot of my bronze but I'm a tenth away from silver currently.
 
No improvement this morning at Autopolis but I had tens of very satisfying consistent laps with the 458.

Sector 1: from 21:957 et 22:236
Sector 2: from 37:820 to 38:001
Sector 3: from 55:559 to 55:782

My optimal is around 1:55.4xx and it's time to get help from ghosts and videos because I feel stuck in a kind of "comfort zone" with these very similar laps, over and over.

And to maximize my chances to enter the Sub 1:55 Club, I've also applied my special livery to the 458...

Subsidiary question: am I the only one who washes and drains all the cars I've used during the day, every evening? :rolleyes:

The RSR is def te next i'll seriously going to try, always love the way it handels, and i hope it will do some good here, but i have no idea if it's already in the top 100?, can't check due to beeing at work.

It is pretty good but with 2 problems. Total lack of power going up hill. Very hard to get the dipper right.

Can't solve the power issue, but since it is easiler to get the line right, I ended up losing only a little of time compare to the Genesis. The dipper is tough tho...I don't think I had even gotten it right once. But if you win the lottery there, you can easily gain 1 to 2/10s.

Definitely a tricky one isn't it? Initial foray in the Porsche yielded a 2.02.5 but I tried a couple of (invalidated) laps in the Genesis at the end and it's definitely faster, albeit more challenging to get round. I've got 14 golds in a row but there is no guarantee with this one I think, even if first session went ok.
 
lol..,man I'm slow. I started in on the MP TT last night. It's a track I love and am pretty familiar with ("so you're saying there's a chance"). First few laps were like...2:12. lol. Not even bronze. After about 25 I managed to get down to 2:05.2xx. More than a second off silver...and that felt like I was barely even driving the car with any sort of control! I don't think gold is even a thing for me in these TTs...silver looks to be my limit. I hope I can find another 1.5 seconds or so to at least get that here...
