Went down to BH for another go at it, and got me a little more cushion

Managed to join the 2:02:xxx club 🔥 it absolutely felt like the perfect lap, i didn't watch the time and it really felt like gold - no mistakes were made. So now i'm not sure if gold is possible. Will give it another go tomorrow, 350km is enough for today :-)
Congrats my friends, it's already an awesome score (for human players)!!
As I love this M6, I'll try it tomorrow on MP.

Tonight I decided to lap AP with the 458 until I enter gold.

Just before trying, I went to have a look at @Pesselles 1:55.200 replay, to check how he goes around some corners where I still don't have a clue. It did not hinted me much in my "how should I pass through here" turns, but I was shocked to discover that he's just coasting in the last 2 turns (where I break at least slightly and maintain throttle longer).

🤩
As already said, the livery is the key to get gold on TTs

Congrats my friend, you did an awesome work and your perseverance is rewarded as your deserve!!

Alright, it seems I have some sort of French Connection going on. 🇨🇵 😃

Last week I got a gold time at Autopolis with the Citroen Gr4, and today I was able to improve my time at Mount Panorama with the Peugeot RCZ.

The car feels fast and also more stable than my dear Porsche. With the RCZ I felt like I had much more control on the "esses" and the "dip". Not only that the corners 9 and 10 I was lifting off a little less than with the 911 RSR, carrying more speed as a consequence.

PS: a fellow member here in the forum were posting track maps, I tought it was super cool. So I posted the MP map inspired by this idea.

Very nice score on MP!!!
You're never wrong with the French cars :D

I've posted some track maps here in the past but dunno if you refer to me. Anyway, it's an excellent idea, of course!

With plenty of time left to put laps in the Land Down Under, I made my way back north to the Land of the Rising Sun in hopes of some improvement before that TT ends. After trying out the Jaaag for the first time and giving the SLS another go, I wasn't feeling it. The Jag handled nicely enough, but I could only run a 54.2 and felt in no way I would be able to gain another 4 or 5 tenths in it. I was surprised by my stint in the SLS, because I was able to get into the 53's with it a few days ago. Like the Jag, however, I was stuck with 54.2's today. I lost my mojo with it. :indiff: Well, I know the Citroen is fast. So back into the French machine I went. Immediately I was posting 54.0's. Despite some obvious mistakes, I easily set my personal best. With that said, you win this round, @Gomario JSP. Holy moly what a lap you put in with the 53.4! View attachment 1326993

Thanks mate!, inwas indeed happy with that .4xx..... did took a lot of miles tho 😂😂
Your lap looks very smooth! And I have to check because I see i haven't uploaded my lap yet 😵‍💫 so i camt compare our sectortimes now , but I think i win the most in the last sector, I'll check and upload tomorrow morning 😁, but you can be proud of that low .7 and 364 on this mega competitive trial, those top times are insane, no idea how they manage that 😳

The part where Griffin's bend starts going all the way to the Skyline is chewing up some of my time, I brake and then take too long to accelerate, I am scared I'll hit the wall so it's preventing me from breaking some low lap records at MP. Now when I get to Reid park, I let up on the gas and then press on the throttle as quickly as I can.

Ohhh you're very welcome, glad to help !
And add me on PSN, of course :)
Already did it 🙂

So.... After some coffee I went back to the TT. This time I bought a RCZ to call it mine, slapped a livery on it and I shaved another tenth. (2:03,5)

0.6 within the silver time, I guess I'm gonna call it done despite the fact I still see time to gain.
I think the top timers won't get that much of improvement at this point. So, silver it is and that's it. (for now).

Great livery! You know maybe I should buy an RCZ car and test it out on the mountain tonight!

Tried it today. First in my RSR for a few laps. Meh. I probably need more time with it. Then decided to see what all the hoopla is with the Hyundai...uhhh.. I mean Genesis. Have never driven this car ever and WOW, it's a beast! On my third lap I was at a 2:08.7 and I know I can find a few more ticks out there. Stopped there for now and will try again next week.

Hey, currently I'm at 2'08.121. I am in love with the RSR here, it handles most everything with style, the Big Dipper is a haul though.

Nailed it! Gold in Down Under with the Genesis X in 2:01,675.
I begin to understand the track.....where to be fast with no breaking at all but just coasting and stepping on the throttle on the right time.....

The Genesis X is fast, but it handles like a tank and I like other cars more to drive, because of their characteristics....

I have tested most of Gr3-cars and my favourites where Nissan GT-R, BMW M6, BMW Z4 and Porsche 911. Try these for silver....

I will retry these too, because I think they can get gold.

Cool, I see your account name. Can you add me so if you have a good replay, I can take a look Sunday? I would appreciate it. I'm a middle-skilled driver. In-between the beginners and the pros.

This is the hardest time trial to gold for me that I can remember. My optimal is right there so I know I can do it but putting a completely good lap together is tough! Need more practice I guess, and maybe a different car? 2:02.321 so far. 2:01.777 optimal. I was sweating.

Thanks the livery makers, they do make some nice ones.

Very decent lap.....with 2 points of interest.

Turn 3: Which is right before The Cutting, Isee you braked a little at the entry. You should be able to flat out and brake right after the apex....or a quater lift if you don't feel safe.

Turn 14: The dipper. No need to shift down to first...it is actually better to shift UP to 3rd, this will stablize the car and you can exit with a much higher speed.

You should be able to make gold with this two changes.

Cool man.. yeah in some cars I was doing that, just lifting on T3, and with this car a few times but this tank just kept sliding into the wall, but probably because I was too late on the brakes for T4 though in those cases. I might try a different car, just not feeling this thing anymore.. Plus I'm leaving way too much space between me and the walls but it feels like I'm going to hit them.. LOL I'll try that on the dipper too, I was trying a lot for different things for sure. That might of been the first time I tried downshifting to 1st, felt like I couldn't get the car turned. But thanks I'll try it again!

Thanks, none of the cars I tried felt very good honestly! LOL This one is tail happy for me but quick anyways. Seems to under-steer sometimes where other cars would just hook up, but still i was faster in this one ultimately.

yeah...that bmw is quit a clunker at low speed. More so than the Genesis.

Even though I now improved my time to 2:02.362 with the Genesis at Mt P I’m giving up with that car.

I’m switching to the Ford GT LM Spec II. Even though I’ve invalidated every lap so far with this car I’m turning times faster than the Genesis. I know that this is the car that’ll enable me to get gold.

If not this car, I’m not getting gold.

The car is super stable through turn 1. It’s also surprisingly agile in the twisty top section and it’s top speed is, well, you know…. This is my favorite car at Deep Forest and I feel this track in not too dissimilar.

I’m surprised it hasn’t really been mentioned for this TT up to now. 🤔

Hmmm… I’m currently touching the brake through t3 to keep the car balanced for entry to The Cutting. You’ve now made me wonder if that’s all I need to break the 2 minute barrier.

A little more. I def can get this. It'll take a little grind but it's getting better all the while. I only had about 3 good laps. I guess I don't use BH much. I should add it to my daily schedule just to get the memory of it better. I feel like every time I play here it's for the first time again. Such a cool track and so technical and such a super fine line. I beat my time from last night in the meta with the 650. That's a great car. My memory of it for the circuit experience and the driving style seems to be lodged in there somewhere because third lap in it after trying a bunch of others I had bettered my yesterday by a couple tenths. I'll just keep doing that every day until I get it. Seems to be the most efficient way with these hard ones for me.
