The Dino is a joy to drive. Just enough oversteer to make it fun unlike cars such as the Genesis VGT which just want to kill you. Like last week, I ran my laps before watching any guides. The only difference is I was staying in 3rd gear coming to the final corners, though I don't know if it makes much of a difference. Other than that, I still haven't gotten the turn-in point for the last turn right yet. Most laps I lose a chunk of time there. And I'm hit and miss on whether I get a good slide into turn 1. Oh, and I'm already behind both @Evilmuffin and @Gomario JSP despite running a sub 15. :grumpy:

Ooft as everyone gets stuck in to the new TT of course I’m a week behind at Le Sarthe :dunce: I thought this one would be a snooze but the Veyron is just about quick enough to be interesting; only really really picky track limits are stopping me from really enjoying it here (why PD whyyyyy)

Plenty of time to be made here as corner exits are so so critical; it’s just whether I have enough time in the day to actually grind this and get it as neat as possible (even then I doubt I would get anywhere near @Evilmuffin ‘s insane time 🤪🤪)

Buttttt now that the tiny little alien icon has been added @half_sourly ’s leaderboards I feel I need to cancel all weekend plans, put my phone in flight mode and grind the crap out of this until I get that top 100 👽 🤣

Midnight time trial session? Yes, midnight time trial session. Another round with the Italian Impostor and a gold time of 1:05,4 (!!!!)

I keep calling the Dino an impostor, but maybe that's me the one right now with the impostor syndrome. I shouldn't be able to gold a streak of TTs, let alone in the first day.

Well done, my friend, that's a brilliant score! Welcome in Yellow territory :) I was sure you'll seriously improve your previous PB!

Apparently, you found the key to manage properly the T7, right? That's still my "sensitive" point, as my braking point is still not precise enough to turn with the perfect speed on the the best line possible. I'll work on that, trust me :mischievous:

I also had a midnight session, right after Robin Mckelle's concert yesterday night and:

Sector 1: 28.463
Sector 2: 37.272

I guess I can shave some tenths, mostly on the 2nd sector.

This non-orange beauty is a blast to drive 🥰 no matter what the ananas pizza eaters like @Fezzik may think about.

I don't know what to say now @Pesselles , only one thing comes to mind..........TRAITOR

On the other hand second thoughts come to mind also ,so be aware of how low you can go, thoughts like this for example .

What to reply to someone like you, dear Grumpy Old Dude?

I wait for you in Yellow territory, so stop losing time posting useless messages here, move your fat belly, and show to Mary you can also be a real man on GT7...

After Pesselles time i am feeling a little better now. :D

But don't tell him i cheated thrice.

1.) I only use the rented cars. So i chose the orange one of course.
2.) I used TC1
3.) I used countersteer light

2.) & 3.) brought me a lot more confidence.
1.) brought me half a second. :D

Great time mate. Most of the time I will buy my own cars following the rules and regulations of each TT.

Why I'm not surprised to see you faster than me, and as fast as @skydragon49 ?
Damned guys, I have no other choice than saving 0.3 sec on my current PB.

But sorry, I refuse to paint my beauty in pinapple color and eating orange pizzas... :dunce::crazy::lol:

Just a short, rather distracted first session yesterday, wasn't enough to form a real opinion yet. Started out completely lost like @Touring Mars , but giving in to using CSA definitely helped a ton, so you might give this a try. It was enough to get into gold with a 1:05.832, which is all I'm looking for in a first session, but just when I started to get into the groove I had to stop. I think three to four more tenths could be within reach, but more than that? Probably not. Maybe if I find a pineapple-themed livery :D

Next try tonight, if time allows. CU folks.

I keep calling the Dino an impostor, but maybe that's me the one right now with the impostor syndrome. I shouldn't able to gold a streak of TTs, let alone in the first day.

I know the feeling, but the reality is: you're simply getting better. Accept it :)

I think I might be developing hunger for golds (🤑🤑). I'm surprised I managed to get into gold on my second stint, took me ~160km's, countless retries, and surprisignly no frustration at all. Shame that by hitting retry I lose all the sector data from previous laps, but when I messed up before the first straight I had no intention to continiue with lap. My prediction about 4.19.xxx was right on spot, but after yesterday I feel like I could get it to low 4:19/high 4:18's - my ghost was faster in some turns when I did this time and I had 4.19.2xx invalidated on last porsche curve by a whisker. I feel that my gold is safe so I can start working on gold with dino.

One more note - I watched @Tidgney guide for this one. Most of the time I try to figure things my own. That 4:15 looks so smooth and easy but when I get to driving I can't see myself getting even close to that time. Saved me a lot of time but I'm pretty sure I missed all braking points and turn entries because of the cockpit view 😅. But still it was a great reference point.

Have i thanked you and the rest of the community for making me better? My 2024 account is the first one where i am really trying in the TTs. After 6 silvers in the beginning of the year i now have a streak of 4 golds, hoping to get 2 more (LeMans still at 2,79%).

So: Thank you!

Of course there where not any bad ones like Maserati on Mount Panorama, some VGT around Yamagiwa or Aston Martin Valkyrie on RBR this year up to now. Bronze (or worse) will come...

@Gomario JSP

Go back to bed, there is nothing to see here 🫣

There is def more in it if indeed we figure out the last corner, do you drift it?, do you squueeeek the hell out of it?, or smooth your way thu?, there seems to be a sort of dip in it that makes you get the idea that you stuffed it up ..... but if you try to be faster you'll end up to far off....

That tracklimit of the last corner is also a mystery for me???

@Dolph Drago still early mate!, i'm sure you will sandwich yourself pretty soon  👍 👍

Merci my friend 😃 but not gonna lie I feel very surprised that I'm sitting on a lap as good as this one. Like I'm the impostor here, not the Dino.... 😂😂

Tidgney suggests that the T7 breaking marker is the second yellow arrow sign on your left. I'm actually breaking a little bit after that, at the beginning of the white/red curb.

I'm sure he's right (of course he is 😂) but at his breaking marker I still don't get the right exit speed. Meaning: I'm not brave enough to attack the curve as he does.

Which I hope I can improve, but I'm not 100% sure if I can.

And yes, this thread rocks. The social aspect of these TTs is something else.

I know the feeling, but the reality is: you're simply getting better. Accept it :)
Thank you Sir, I hope I am. But one thing I know for sure, I'm having fun again with GT because of those TT. 🙂

Didn't find any motivation to turn on the PS5 yesterday, I'm not sure if I'm looking forward to this TT or not. I love old cars and the fact, we're getting to use some of them in GT7 instead of just staring at them. But I tend to struggle with those soft cars when you should slide them rather then driving a clean line, as i find it extremely difficult to find the right timing and really commit to the slide.

The results for TT68 are over here. I will update the interim results later or tomorrow; work...

Please have a read through the notes and see the attached Excel file - it follows the suggestions on here - and let me know if you have feedback.
I've updated the opening post of the results thread with the index of TTs and the second post with the community leader boards.

  • Thanks for providing information to populate the new columns.
  • Overall the changes to the scoreboard seem to have been welcomed.
  • According to this post I misinterpreted the Alien etc. rank; I put it against the latest results, but it seems the intention was for it to be against best ever results. I like seeing it against current, so have kept that and added a similar column for best ever. Now that I attach a 'values only' Excel file adding columns is not an issue, as I can hide them. I've chosen to show the best ever rank. If you want to see your rank for this TT, open the Excel file and unhide all columns
    • Same goes for those who want to look at DOB, PS version, VR or not, etc. - look at the Excel file and unhide all columns.
  • I have also hidden the column with the arrow showing whether your current result is an improvement on your best ever. Reason is that that information is already there twice - once by looking at your current column and best column; one by the green background on current where you've beaten your previous best.

First try today in Sardegna with Blue Dino. Get gold with time at 1'05'587 with optimal time at 1'05'299

I find driving the Veyron Gr.4 @ Le Mans to be quite relaxing, in a way.
Yes, me too. I really enjoyed that TT. It is a bit of an odyssey, but holding it together when you are up on your best time for the last sector is challenging. Glad that the track limits are (far) more forgiving than in GT Sport, but there's still a few oddities in there (kink before Indianapolis, I'm looking at you...), but even so it was relatively easy to bank consistent white laps on this one, unlike some other TTs I could mention (RBR, I'm looking at you...)

No improvement on the final day obviously, but it was tall order to begin with. Improved the optimum slightly to 46.7, but managed only 46.9 in an actual lap.
Also starting to miss on my personal challenge of staying inside top 50 of our leaderboard, but with the constant influx of fast players it's getting harder and harder. :dopey:

On to Le Mans - the track I love since GT4, but it's not easy to be fast compared to the top times (didn't manage to gold the Gr.1 TT last year).

oh.. man... @half_sourly you really know how to push our buttons to try get faster.... damn... :D I was laughing at @Dan_Tes when he yesterday said, "If I knew there would be icon for Alien status I would drive whole night to get it" and I was looking at leaderboard from RBR and first 3 on podium got alien badge and I was on fourth place thinking same as dan tes, well I could have pushed just a bit more, regardless that life is very busy right now.. anyhow ... with this intro.. now you added a CROWN !!!
man I was only once near to @djolliea I was literally 0.005 behind... and now ... there is a new temptation... a CROWN... hmmm man.. I mean I love you man but hey... hey... so looking forward many sleepless nights now... damn hahahaa..... a CROWN... for P1.... damn... well well well... maybe one sunny day, lets hope :D

I guess when @Gomario JSP sees it he will start turning his alarm to 3:30 in the morning to get it haha :D
