We really are dealing with extremely fine margins here.
 
God almighty! Finally 1'09.641, I'm in the bronze territory. This is incredibly hard to get a low time on because the car has sliding syndrome. I'm gonna try to better it tonight and record it and let you all take a look. I don't like that right turn before the finish because it messed up some of my good laps.

What happens most of the time is I'll get hasty and not pay attention to my surroundings. Then I misjudge the speed and I end up either missing the turn or I'll brake too early and waste time. I'm only 5 seconds away from @Dolph Drago's time, he got 1'04.666.

Turn 1 is a major issue for me because I'll brake too early and not let up on the gas/throttle enough which costs me time, and it affects my Turns 2-3. Then my rhythm is off. So there's a lot of things about this TT that baffles me. The way some of the track is laid out/designed. Gold is going to be a doozy and I mean a chore here.

I'm gonna have to give it my all, with the help of you guys. There is a lot of tricky braking points to learn here in order to get the best optimal time, and it's going to take work and patience. It won't be a stroll in the park, that's for sure. I still have the TCS set at 2-3 because I'm afraid that my car will lose control when braking and cornering.

Well I'll keep in touch with my progress, take care. I'm getting ready for bed soon, I usually stay up for 36-48 hours straight, I have insomnia meaning I stay up for 2 days. It's wearing me down, but I've got to be the warrior in this situation, pushing for the gold!!

That won't help you at all. What will help you is shifting down to second gear for turn 1, because that will give you more stability on corner exit. This will maximise your speed as you drop down into the valley, setting you up for the very fast left-right section just before the crest on the other side. When you get over that crest, you should be in 4th gear before hitting the brakes and shifting down to 3rd for the right hander. Once you've exited that corner you should be on the ripple strip heading into the last section, where you get into the gentle right hander that you should take in 4th before hitting the brakes and quickly turning to the left. Make sure you slow the car down enough to open up the entry for the last corner, as that will allow you get a good run onto the main straight.
 
Well, I'm getting ready to stop in a little while, I'll just have to continue working on it when I get up later. I'm burnt out, ran 78 laps today and only got a measly 1'09.641 out of all the other laps I did. This is not a sprint, it feels like a marathon.

And I'm switching to MT, AT is not my friend here. It's hindering me from improving my lap time.

@Dolph Drago any thoughts? I saw your replay. I'm trying to copy what you did at T1, but it's hard.

🤣 thanks mate, I must admit that it's not going backwards indeed, but that does count for a whole lot of others here, seems like everybody is evolving into mega fast drivers here, that community leaderboard does realy bring the best out of all of us!

@Barareklam Well that was fast into the .6xx 🙄😱, I was expecting it to be a handfull with motionsteering due to the mega delicate slides but seems to be quite working for you apparently 😳🤣🤣, that rev-limiter I did hit a few time myself on a hot exit, PB below is also on the last km/h before hitting that 🤣😱

That first corner is indeed a weird one, sometimes I have almost no squeeek and am slower then ever, and sometimes I fully drift it and seems to quite fast on the exit..... weird one for sure, just like the last one 🤣

That said, I had a few laps in this morning, I was devastated stuffing up a megalap a few laps after this one beeing -150 before the last turn but invalidated so done for today

But finaly into the 5xx....

Wow, this is rough! Amazing time, congrats! Getting below 1:15 is definitely in the cards for me, but almost two tenths when the margins are already so thin? I don't see that at the moment. Will send you a friend request as well, should make for some interesting competition. These are our results for the last 18 TTs :D

Good morning everyone! My morning run went smoother than expected. Kept finding more time, and as i expected the last corner can really make or break your lap. This one got me into 1:04 🔥

I swear to god these time trial are like drugs. So addictive. I didn't want to take another run but had a feeling there is a bit more in me.

For every "good" lap I had 3 red ones but in the end .379s better.. Really pleased with the time for my skill level

You shouldn't exaggerate either !!!! 🤣🤣🤣 Seeing @PlanetJanet go below 1'04 boosts me even more !!!! But unfortunately I only have 2 days a week to hope to improve this time. But it’s a very interesting challenge. It makes me happy to have you on my friends list because the pilots like @Gomario JSP @Dolph Drago @Evilmuffin ,etc.. have become too excellent for me to follow !!!! It's another dimension 👽👽 🤣🤣🤣

Sounds easy I know, but key fot T1 seems to be braking dead on the 200 board and brake to just before the apex and let off the brake completely to rotate that last bit which you realy need if you dont want to lift again on the exit, otherwise you loose a huge amount of time once you get up the hill

Last turn is hideous indeed 🤣
 
The first and last turns at Sardegna drive me nuts. I can't figure them out. I'll get round them feeling like I nailed it and look at the timer and see I've lost 6 tenths! I did about 50 laps last night and still no improvement on 1:06.3xx.
You're right about the last turn, it is annoying.

In the first turn, I use the 200mts sign as a breaking marker. Hit the brakes hard, down to 2nd gear and aim for a tight exit. What I try is to get the car lined up as early as possible so I can hit the gas and leave turn 1 behind.

Edit: @Gomario JSP you posted your reply as I was writing mine. Glad to see I'm on the same dtiving approach as a fast driver like you.

My skills are still lacking, but the thinking is right at least 😂😂😂

You are so close to 1.04, you can make it for sure :)

Looking at the chart more closely, it nicely illustrates what I already suspected: I'm not very good at race cars, and I don't enjoy those TTs. The spikes are all race car TTs, I do much better in cars like the Dino.

You're right, you're much better on TTs with cars like the Dino than on Photoshop :irked:

yeah every once in a while I'll get the first just right and come out up a couple tenths. Those are the laps where I hit the wall in the right-hander after the esses. lol...

I was so busy keeping the car from understeer/oversteer/psychosteer to properly get the corner entry right. After 100km or so my brain was fried 🫠

Optimal is actually in the mid 1:04.5s, but getting there is another story.

@Gomario JSP @Dolph Drago I think you 2 will win this one, but at less I'm above @Dan_Tes .....yes...me totally taking advantage of him being busy and can't play 🤪

After struggling for 100's of miles to get my 1:04.841 yesterday, it took all of 17 miles tonight to nail down a hot lap. Sector 1 was MUCH better than I've ever had, and I didn't even have to slide it through turn 1! We'll see how long it takes for @Evilmuffin & @Gomario JSP to blow me away. :P

Beautiful lap dude. I'm just catching up and watching videos this morning. Holy cow. So incredibly smooth. Love the way you handle loose cars. Just clean.

Yeah nailing everything is a real challenge here and getting consistent with the delicate yeeting is a real struggle, on my PB lap I almost lost a tenth by the time I got uphill due to to much steering input but nailed the righthander after that even gaining on Tidngey , so a .4 is definitely in there but it just have to stick all .... don't know of that is going to work 🤣🤣, I'm not realy looking at optimals here because it's such a short track and just restart when something bad happens 🤣🤣
 
Wow, I actually have no clue what this car is doing half the time. The Dino that is. I can lose anywhere from 5 tenths to 2 full seconds at pretty much any corner on this track. It's crazy. And it can happen a different way every time. I can watch a tenth of a second bleed off every 100 feet on a straight at full throttle! lol...I'll get a few laps where I feel like I have a good handle on a given corner, and then the next few laps I'll be losing the back end every time at the same corner. I can't carry any speed at all through the second of those 2 right handers. It's drop to 3, slow right down and hope for the best. Sometimes I'll think I'm through safely and start on the throttle and the next thing I know the car is wallowing into the wall. Gotta manage that weight transfer I know, but wow it's a knife-edge! So frustrating! I'll go into the final turn 2 tenths up on my current best lap and get through the turn feeling good about my life and then watch as the tenths vanish on the straight and I end up 3 tenths down by the S/F line. It feels like none of these corners have an apex...it's a guessing game every time.

I'm taking a break and having a bowl of cereal right now. :lol:
