Ah yes, Try, my favourite type of oval.

The only thing that's really tough is the force feedback on high-powered wheels. A few laps with the TGT2 got my hands tingling. I did manage to get down to just a couple ticks over 35.7, though I had a mid-35.6 lap invalidated at the line.

For some "not human" players, every TT is gold, and if possible in the Top 100. And they'll fight each others here, like they do on all others TTs.

For some players, gold isn't possible on every TT. Sometimes, it's one time on two. Like many others here, I'm in this category. I'll do my best, I'll grab that easy cash and I'll play without complaining.

But for some others players, simply getting silver is already a real challenge, and sometimes it's simply impossible to them. We all trend to forgot that but there are so many players with different skill levels. No, we are not all talented, no, we are not all fast, and no, we are not equals.

So even if you find this TT stupidly too easy/pointless, let's keep in mind that's a kind reward and a kind way to encourage those who struggle to usually get silver and can't even dream about gold.

🙏
The good news is silver is still the usual 5.0% above the fastest time and still pays the usual 1,000,000 Cr. I could use that after spending 3 weeks of the last 4 mired in bronze territory.
I think it is exactly that - a combo 'gift'/ April's Fool. Fair play to them; can't accuse them of not providing variety.

Not so pleased about the change in medal cut-offs; all sorts of opportunities to screw up my scoreboard spreadsheets...
And that's the bad news. I'm anticipating my current WR+0.50% time to not be anywhere near the percentile my just-finalized time around Sarthe was, even though that one was well off the usual gold standard of WR+3.0%.

@Barareklam will be interesting to compare our settings on this one, remember that Tomahawk test 😉
Yeah, we can do that, I am looking forward to come home from work and test new TT. Whole internet is on fire about this try-oval TT.

On the opposite side from Dino TT, well I am guessing but I assume it is qualified guess, that there will not be so much discussion about to turn countersteering on strong or not, on this one haha :D

Edit: and yes @Tidgney just out of curiosity, how many laps would it take for you to gold Dino TT on gyro? I have seen your video and hear you haven't used controller for a long time, and especially not used motion control. I know many people have hard time to get used to it, so if you are curious and have time to test it, I think it would be interesting not only for me, what do you say?

absolutely true. In the current Dino TT I had a look at the boards online yesterday and basically a little over 100,000 people have posted a time. I'm currently a tenth out of gold at 1.05.922, and I'm ranked about 11,000th overall. So, roughly 90,000 people or 90% have silver or worse. And that's the people who bother to post a time. Gold ain't easy by any means...

Actually I see today it's about 113,000 times posted and I'm at about 13,000. Same point though basically.

I don't think this is possible though, at least I haven't found a way to get the threshold info from the API. So the only way would be to hardcode the 1% for this specific event, and then update the plugin every time this happens again. Which would be kind of stupid.
@half_sourly Well, it is kind of stupid, but I did it anyway. :)

The new version is here as usual.

I was thinking of leaving the Daytona TT until next week, but then I remembered that if you post a time first, the next person to post the same time is placed behind you. With such tight margins there will be thousands of people recording the same times as other people... So I'll definitely get a banker in tonight so I'm at least in the ballpark and with a little luck holding a gold and reasonable position.

It would be lame to have a gold time but rank 88,986th...

Even on day 1 it is hurting; best get that time in.
