Only 1 Million for me this Christmas... :(

 Just kidding! This Time Trial was pure pleasure. That turn 1 at 300 km/h was spectacular! Thanks to Adrian Newey ;)

Red Bull at Road Atlanta and Corvette at Watkins Glen where my two least favourite Time Trials. Both complete opposites in terms of driving styles! I guess I'm fussy and far from an all-rounder!

Well guys - since many of us are in the same painful boat fighting with this one, how about some comic relief? Have a laugh at just a (very) small sample of the ways I've managed to crash at Road Atlanta in the Red Bull...

Oh and something else that just happened too...

Managing to roll this thing is an impressive feat in its own right! Of all the mistakes I've managed to do with this TT (literally every other one in that compilation I've also done at least once), I hadn't managed to flip it!

And with tuning enabled.
I didn't even noticed that!, that would be interesting, again this is going to be a pain in the a*s for sure, no track limits but just corners....... alot of them
I like the Nordschelife tho, curious see what the gab will be this time with the top guys!
Let's set up some tunes and crush those basterds

Ohboy.....the Nordschleife is here 🤣🤣
With the NSX

Ugh... The Ring is the only track in the game left for me to gold, I didn't even try once, it's a total unknown. I always leave it for later, doing something else. And there was no tune in this forum that could help me like the NSX, it was always so oversteery and slidy...

I don't even know if I'm going to try this :D

The ring is fairly doable to gold, even on DS4, altho i did it before the use physics update, must be better now, so this would be the perfect time to do this, get to know the track gold it with the hevay m6, and then have fun with the lighter NSX afterwards :)

if I remember correctly fastest ranking time on circuit experience is 6:18:xxx so I wonder what it will be now... but hey one thing is sure, it is much faster to repeat road atlanta when full lap is 1 minute , not 7 minutes like Nurburgring....

Mistah already getting 6:57.xxx

I remember some of us doing this challenge with a stock one. I think I got around 7:57.xxx. Would be interesting to see my time with a tuned one.

Here are the results of the 13th TT - my triskaidekaphobia has taken a turn for the worse.

On a personal front I ended up 350th with a 59.787; well happy with that.

On to the next one and being so close to Christmas I am sure it will be a nice easy track, a solid and steady Gr.4 car on racing softs and no tuning, because that would just be silly.

That's a lot going on with both tuning and nordschleife.

Maxed out the power and weight and jumped in without any tuning. Impossible to drive. Tried to tune it myself. Felt terrible. Changed to praianos nsx 02 suspension and LSD settings which felt a lot better even if that tune is for different power weight track and tyres etc. Actually pretty fun. Feels like a race car that's a bit more wild. So I guess that can be a foundation.

But it's probably pointless to try to tune yourself unless you really enjoy it as tuning will probably become a non-factor as soon as a good tune gets posted on here or by a youtuber. But might still be a few seconds to gain over such a long course by improving on whatever becomes the meta tune. For most people that's beyond the scope of skill and interest though I think, but it means the top times will be that much faster.

It took me days to learn the circuit experience combo well enough to gold it, and that's not even within 3% range from the top times I'm pretty sure, so I don't have high hopes for this one. And what's even worse is you can't practice the sector's individually.

The last tt took up most of my gaming time so how much I put into this one will depend on the dailies. Missing some racing action and don't want to just spend ages maximising apex speeds and taking crazy lines around corners (and instead of 5 or so there now about 80 or something to figure out)

Is that sarcasm? Cause you know... New TT is on the Nordschleife with the Honda NSX Type R ('02)😅

Edit: Now that I read your comment again I'm 99.99% sure it's sarcasm lmao

Quick question- to widebody or not widebody? I seem to remember widebody causing a lot of drag and reducing top speed? Does it offer enough improvement in cornering to outweigh this? Or does it make no difference to either?

Thx for great stats as usual, surprised suzuka was harder to gold.

You can make that 100%

Watching @Mistah_MCA stream at the moment and seems widebody is the way to go for the downforce.
snc

You're welcome.

Thanks for the stats.

If you're in the mood for more data analysis there's a couple things I'd find interesting to know:
1. Result history of world tour drivers.
2. Total number of unique participants across all time trials.

The second one I can't do because it uses nicknames - see here.

I could have a go at the first one - as long as the list is not too long - if you gave me GT7 nicknames.

Yeah I guess there would be some uncertainty and one would have to use the highest number of duplicates from a single TT as an estimate for the number of individuals with the same nickname. But definitely inconvenient to do and not just as simple as combining all the lists and removing duplicates.

For the world tour drivers I believe their DR is listed as S (at least they appeared to be on the road Atlanta website time trial board the last time I looked at it). If that doesn't work I will have to try to come up with a list.

...

But it's probably pointless to try to tune yourself unless you really enjoy it as tuning ...

Or you know what you are doing, which is not my case.
I think I know what I'd like the car to do, but don't know how to work the tuning to achieve it
Hopefully some good people will post their, and hopefully their tuning will go in the direction of having a stable-not-that-perfoming car instead of a aggressive-always-in-the-grass car

Awesome stats!!! Thanks for compiling them! Interesting that Suzuka was harder than the last one! I certainly felt the opposite!

One thing that would be cool to add - percentage of players who have got gold on every challenge.
