@crome : I guess that your plugin does not color the cell with bronze color if the time is lower than 10% of from WR ? So all people getting bronze but below 10% do not get bronze background color, right ?
The plug-in is actually able to manage time trials with different thresholds, e.g. this one with 20% for bronze, it's just that when I set this one up, I wasn't aware it was not 10% so set a wrong value. Corrected that now. When the next update occurs (actually in a few minutes), the colours should be accurate again.

Edit: there you go ;)

What a session I had last night at the Red Bull Ring... After nailing a 1:21:1 the night before in my first session, I knew exactly where I can gain the remaining 2 tenths and just needed to put my lap together.

But then!

After almost 2 hours of sweating, not a single first corner was taken properly. It was like I'm driving a completely different car compared to the night before, no rhytm at all, and I do mean literally not a single first corner, not one time I was able to put the first sector under 19.1, and on my first session I was doing regular 19.050, 19.030, 19.070s... Something was definitely not right, this kind of thing never happened to me before (that's what HE said), I may try again tonight, but... Maybe I just give it a rest and focus on the S2000 or the X2019, we'll see...

So, first the TT with the Honda : very easy (unlike many recents TTs), somewhat fun, but I won't go back to it.

Next, the "real" one, the Nurb24 with the X2019. I'm irritated... I went in thinking Silver would be ok and move on. But I'm close to the gold threshold already, and I know I can do it, but it'll take time. Will I resist the need to improve ?... Sheesh.... :/

I think the lack of brake bias adjustment really hinders the Mission X even with ABS on. It has a very forward bias, meaning trail braking doesn't really work. Being fast comes down to releasing the brakes at exactly the right moment.

By contrast, the S2000's small brakes means that it's pretty forgiving and I could get a solid silver with ABS off without too much effort. I'll probably shoot for gold if I get time. Again though it's a shame the brake bias can't be changed. I don't normally bother with the time trials but I admit I was drawn in by this one.

The X2019, well... I put one lap in and was just happy it was clean!

Been so inundated with work and life in general lately that I have zero time for myself. These past few months have been my least amount of Km ever driven :grumpy:

Any tips for the Porsche at RBR? Which assists are beneficial? I hope its not one of those space ship handling EVs. I might only have some time this evening for a quick stint and I want to make the most of it. I am currently on a silver streak with the two previous time trials.

As always, Happy Hunting Folks.. :cheers:

Don't even let a gust of wind hit the throttle button mid-corner or it'll understeer into the closest barrier.
Noted... So its an under steering monster :banghead:
In that case, it sounds like it will be a good challenge to set a decent fast lap.

Drive with full ESP on!!!!
I don't know if ESP is working differently on the wheel but it def didn't do good on the pad for me ( it never does for faster times in my hands, but then again, it might work for somebody else....
( i almost never touch ESP but did try it on the Porsche though in the beginning )

Just go TC1 here, don't be brave and start with 0 that's more frustrating than fun.
Brake early, and real easy throttle up until 140km/h then when reasonable straight you can floor it.
it's not that bad as it sounds, you just need to hold in on exits to get the most grip out of it.
most important...... getting fixed brakingpoints,

You got this Champ 💪

  • TCS1 and ABS weak.
  • Brake very early - not a trite comment; look at Tidgney and Mistah MCA's videos and brake 10m earlier.
  • Trail-brake - it is one of those where you feel you are never going to slow down then at the end it just stops.
  • In turns 6 and 7, it is hugely beneficial to get the inside tyres onto the kerb - as often in GT7, it 'drags' you around; especially T7 - all my best S3 times were where I managed to get that inside tyre on the kerb.
  • Be comfortable with coasting through corners - 4 (a bit), 6, 7, 9 and 10.
  • Brake on the tarmac, not the kerbs.

For me, RBR was TC1 and ABS default, with CSA strong just in case, but I think it didn't do much.

TC2 was too restrictive, at least for me, on TC1 you can accelerate harder but also you need to be more careful with the throttle, 80% is the key before flooring it.

Braking is quite tricky, there is such a small window where you need to release the brake at just the right moment, half a second makes a world of difference and decides if you will make the apex or understeer into oblivion.

Personally, exit out of turn 2 (the slowest corner) is still a mystery for me, I lose so much time there, I tried with TC0, TC1, TC2, modulating the throttle in all the possible ways, but whatever I do, top ghosts just walk away from me there, I can follow them in the bumper no problem for the rest of the lap when I nail it, but that particular corner, impossible.

First test in Grand Valley :
I didn't think I would fall in love at 50 !!!! 😍😍❤️
It’s my wife who is not going to be happy !!! 🤣🤣
But all the same !!! 🤣🤣
This combo is simply magnificent !!! 😍😍
I really liked this Grand Valley circuit (especially during the TT with the Red Bull) but here with the S2000 it's simply enjoyable !!!!
Get gold in 2'15'168 with TC at 0

This is why for me it's an interesting TT, every corner is a different challenge in this car, even corners that are flat in most machinery you need to think about.

If Porsche ever shipped this car, to turn TC off you'd likely have to sign a contract to say your imminent death is not their problem 😵

Well, almost no corners are flat out here, maybe just the second part of the 8th, but everything else is dancing on ice :lol:
In contrast, I had a go at X2019 at the 'ring last night and so many corners that normally you have to brake, or at least lift for, at flat-out. Just 9.8 seconds to find for gold and a mere 18 seconds off first place.

Thanks for these tips guys. Will try with CSA off at first and if I struggle, I will turn it on, weak at first and then strong. Its what I usually do if I am struggling. Definitely TC1 from the get go!!

Thanks for the detailed breakdown. I'm not to sure about ABS weak, but I will try.

Turn 6 and 7 is always a make it or break it for me. Will keep your tips in mind :cheers:

Finally I reached gold at RBR

I'd have still half a second in the belt, but put everything in the same lap is quite difficult. Probably the less difficult area of improvement is the Wurth curve (#6). I'm very gently there. Could be better if I can handle the oversteering.

As for the Green Hell, I'm one and done here. I don't have time to devote. The car is a problem itself, the track I love but don't know well. I consider a plus that I only needed one lap to record a time. I hope it will stay.

But there is something much more positive about the Green Hell, and it's for the ages!

I'm so faster than you that I'm first in my leaderboard and the second has yet to arrive! This is dominance!!!
😎

The plug-in....
I'm using Firefox and Greasemonkey and nothing shows up when enabling script. Are there some common reasons why it wouldn't work? I've tried disabling other plugins, everything up to date, etc.. I just get nothing. 🤔 Is there a separate thread somewhere to discuss?

No, but I can contact you via DM, I'm sure we can figure this out.

Ah OK then. I did just try the combination Greasemonkey / Firefox, and that worked as well for me, but if this solves it for you, all the better :)
Yeah I probably needed to re-install greasemonkey or something.
Anyways... I was poking around and wonder if there's a line of code to add or modify that would change text color of gold block to black text instead of white? I see where I can change the background color. I may just make the gold darker if impossible to change color of txt just for gold background block.

edit - I changed it to 230,203,20 and gold block is more legible. 👍
Code:
function getBackgroundColor(tier) {
  switch (tier) {
    case 'gold':
      return 'rgba(230,203,20,0.5)';

used this to tune the color https://rgbcolorpicker.com/

edit-2
Changed bronze block to 199,144,50 and bronze is a little darker too if anyone wants darker blocks.

Code:
function getBackgroundColor(tier) {
  switch (tier) {
    case 'gold':
      return 'rgba(230,203,20,0.5)';
    case 'silver':
      return 'rgba(192,192,192,0.5)';
    case 'bronze':
      return 'rgba(199,144,50,0.5)';

I did a track guide video early on that may help explain the car.

Use TCS1 or 2. Doesn’t matter. I’ve set top times with both and also a combination of the two on the same lap depending on corner.

Without traction control engaged, the Porsche Mission X slides like crazy in Red Bull Ring..

Dog Sliding GIF
Isn’t it funny how people perceive different cars. I found the Mission X to be absolutely predictable and sure footed where as the S2000 feels like I’m trying to drive it on ice and felt much more random. lol.
