Out of patience. Complete frustration with S3. I just do not understand it. I am thinking that I lack the fine throttle control to get the last corner before the bridge done. Such is life. Hope it sticks for a top 1000.

I found half a second last night but I've still got more to go if I want to beat my brother. Not sure if I'll bother suffering again though after what happened with the Dodge Viper time trial on Autopolis. Still, could be worse.

Not even silver? Are you joking? I'll see if I can improve but I get the impression that no matter what I do, it won't be worth the trouble. There are easier ways to earn 2 million credits.

Not to confuse you even more but allow me to share a bit more info in order so you can find what works for YOU. T15 , great advice to upshift to third, but keep in mind following thing, advice comes from alien that keeps enough speed in that corner and third is definitely right choice. Also Tidgney in his video do very same thing, third gear. Gomario says "works for me" and "if you hit it right", Again these two aliens are P 10 or 30 or thereabouts. If you look at fastest video replay, second gear on exit of T15. So not to confuse you but just to share another point of view, maybe they are turning in earlier or later than you, maybe they are releasing brake earlier than you, maybe carrying more speed, what I want to say, advice you got is definitely correct, but if you can't execute it exactly the same way they do it,( I can watch Tidgney video but can't repeat exactly what he does) , test second gear too and see what works best for YOU in that current moment of corner. (Probably can be after many attempts, in that very moment of T15 you will be able to see how much speed you carry in that very lap and decide in split second, second or third gear for that corner exit ) (Had best intentions to help, hope I haven't made it worse or more confusing, if so I apologize in advance)
First of all, beeing called alien by another one is the crown on my early morning effords 😁🤣🙏🙏

And very true indeed!, and a good thing to point out,
The whole "what works for you" thing is even day depending on me sometimes, and im probably not the only one that has better and worse days 🤣
For example...... i couldnt get 3th to work today at all there whatever i tried, then ran PB with 2nd 🤣 ( no worthy progression though .388 to .375 i believe 🤣
but there are more ways to Rome indeed
and we all stull have a sort of our own driving style and adapting to different ways takes time, although on my part, Tidgney runs those times on his first few laps were I often need sessions of 300km.

Hello there @Barareklam !

First of all, thank you for explaning and sharing your insights. I really aprecciate it.

Secondly, it wasn't confusing it all. Not even a single bit. Not only that, but I also agree with your point 100%. I mentioned something like that before however I just couldn't put it down in a very well explained way as you did.

Thirdly, I mentioned what @Gomario JSP said because I managed to get a decent time (not bragging myself here) despite not doing said T15 exit in 3rd. Also T4 I'm keeping my car on 4th rather than upshifting to 5th. Tidgney suggests it is more stable, but I just couldn't do it. I thought I could find an extra bit of time then if I adjusted my driving to those advices.

What brings me back to your (excellent) point. It may be a matter of knowing what is working instead of just copying the top guys. I guess in this TT I should worry a little bit less about replicating top tier driving ways.

Thanks again for your insights. 🙏
and don't forget that one TT can be fire for you and another one can be extremely difficult, we all have that.....exept for those standard top 20 drivers or so 🤔🤣
I watch Tidgney most of the time in my lunchbreak at work, then i now what gearing the top folks sort of use and I try to take some brakingpoint on the way.... but just as Barareklam mentioned, I just can't replicate everything too, if I use the same breakingpoints im overshooting all corners, no idea how he brakes that late and always find a way to rotate....
But most of the time it's just trying for me too, I tried you T4 in 4th this morning and was just as fast, so if it feels good stick with it..... if you hit all "good feeling corners" on one lap a pb is inevitable 😁

Case closed, take a look at @330_D his lap..... 3th gear is his friend 🤔🤣
Imma try some in my next session.... 🤣
We all learn from each other 😁

@330_D I noticed you kicked me down and with a good margin! epic time there mate, congrats!

Hello, I watched your last replays and I thought you stormed the track, impressive once again. I do admire and enjoy watching y'all's hot laps everytime and I get entertained by it.

I had another go at the Mission X. I did improve again but it was a night of frustration of being significantly up and then throwing it away on the last corner.

I also discovered a party trick in the Porsche. VR drivers do not get real time deltas but in the Porsche you do! Staring at us all this time, it’s in the dash. Once I noticed it I found I started to drive worse knowing if I was up or down on my best lap.

This was the worse, aiming for the last turn I drift off track. The delta to my best indicated I was approaching the 1:20s and I was pushing. I pushed too far….

Well done! You succeeded and passed the Mission! VR must be a really cool and fun mode to experience in the TT's.

Hi guys (and....)

Very joyful session this morning on the ocean road at Grand Valley with Miss S2000.
Honestly, I could drive this combo for hours, but sadly I also have a wife, and I must eat, sleep, take showers, etc.

Anyway, here is another sympathic improvement with my admission to the "2:14" Club:

1732963753308.png

S1: 42.353 - Possibily one of my worst S1 this morning (I had a 42.095 few laps earlier) and I did this... PFFF
S2: 45.106 - A bit more agressive, faster in the Esse (T14 - T15), but could probably do a bit better.
S3: 47.493 - Later on brakes before the small tunnel, better angle at the exit, more speed till the end.

I'm close to some very good leaderboard friends:

Overall, I'm very happy with these score and ranking but I feel like the work isn't yet over. I would say 2 to 4 tenths are still waiting for me if the planets.....

Happy week-end and lapping, folks!!

Bravo mon ami 👏👏👏👏👏
But as you say you have a wife, you have to take showers, eat, sleep... so I think you can stop there please 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Allow me to correct you my virtual friend, you didn't improve to .375 but to .374
Wonder how I know exactly ?
Well

😂 congrats on that 0.001 🤣
Anyhow I am happy with my P for now 🙂

Thanks man. It's been a minute since I felt the love with a TT. The last few have broken me. I needed this. 😂

And anywhere you can pull 3rd it will gain time on the long end. I could not keep it together with my more aggressive style in 2nd through the last chicane and forever I thought it didn't have the grunt to pull but I started last evening with the smoother 3rd and gained half a second in that corner. Depending on how you prefer it might be much quicker. For me in third, it feels much much less understeery and balanced. I also don't watch any guides these days. I much prefer to figure it out on my own. Ymmv!

Cheers 🍻

Good to see that PD haven't lost their sense for nice TT's completly.
A small break from the lap time challenges wasn't to bad either, but i'm happy to return for this great comb. 😁
The S2000 has always been one of the cars i enjoyed driving the most in Gran Turismo.

Needed a bit more time to get used to the comb, because it's my first TT around the new full Grand Valley layout.

Today i had great start and already got a 1:26,1xx on my 3rd lap and again on lap 4... but messed up the final sector both times. 🥲

On my 5th lap i was even on pace for a sub 1:26 S2 but rammed the car into the barrier entering the bridge. 🤬😂
But than i ran completly out of skill... 🤪

Luckily the skill came back after lunch. 😌

IMG_20241130_143749.jpg

S2 was a 1:26,243, so there should be another 3/10s left and the exit of the final chicane felt some kind of slow too.

New test in Grand Valley :
I decided to follow Jomar's advice (@Gomario JSP ) (thanks a lot my dear friend !!!) and change my ghost to follow that of @djolliea .
Well I did well because I was able to improve my time to 2'14'282.
But I think I can still improve it 🤞🤞(to be in 2'13 club) because there are trajectory errors, particularly on the T12 and T14.
I didn't think I could improve my time so quickly. I have TC at 0, ABS by default and I just set the counter-steering assist to low. I don't know if it was the latter that allowed me to improve my time.

My dear Jérôme,

I'm sorry to see you left our Earth for the Dark side of the game with your new green friends.

Take care and safe flight to your new planet.

Mon très cher Daniel,
I don't consider your message as a farewell message... because I am very far from wanting to leave our dear blue planet to follow its little green men but just to stay among you.
Only some TTs like this one (I really like it 😍😍❤️) will make you leave the earth but most TTs quickly bring you back down !!!!
So don't worry my friend I will always be there by your side...

😍😍🤣🤣🤣

Watched @Mistah_MCA 's guide / warning video which gave me the fear, but first session at the Nords went way better than expected.

I'm ok with the X2019 (even with the still terrible low speed FFB) and quickly got down to a low 6.21, so currently gold - a lot less struggle than the evil Barcelona rallycross!

And the back side of the Nords at warp speed is just insane...

If you don't want to see the session skip to a couple of mins to the end or just ignore this completely, that's cool as well. It is unedited :)

This is the video of my first time in VR (second time really but that was just looking round the car) video of setting a Gold time in the Porsche Mission Twitter sorry X thing.

The time is not going to set the world on fire as it just scrapes in, I can go a lot quicker but I thought for a VR vid it would be fun to watch.

There are several parts in the video where I am adjusting the goggles hence the park ups.

So here is me hitting a gold time in VR as a person that's had less than 8 hours using VR

So yeah, driving sober does help a bit :)

That's not too bad, but there is SO much more to gain still in S3.

If I can somehow do something similar I could also go well under 2:13.5 I think ... in fact my fastest S2 split is just a few hundredths slower than yours. I'll give that 3rd gear strategy a try. Awesome lap btw, before I forget! :)

Also did an initial lap in the green hell yesteday, but let's just say I'm gonna procrastinate on that one a little more. I just cannot do that one and the S2000 in the same session, it's like a completely different genre. :D

You love the race cars and I love the turds! 🍻🍻🍻

Nice time for you as well, sir!
