Morning folks,

I needed sleep.... but could not set my alarm later than O-sixhundred because my GV laps were promising yesterday
one session yesterday opend all motivational books for me, the bad thing.... i never reached such a low bridge-split
in fact i had a lot of trouble getting it into the .1xx this morning and do restart if i'm higher then .2xx because i will never hit a PB then.

after an hour of trying with some good sectors, but a lot of bad once i finally got in that personal window of oppertunity and got a few 26.0's on the bridge but kept overshooting the next righthander after it.

Then ran a 26.107 split but absolutely hammered the last sector :):)
So..... still almost a tenth on the table but i doubt i will ever nail that.

Trailbraking is key on this one plus trying to limit the exit oversteer shenanigans by steering compared with lifting of tiny bits.
If you are on the edge over oversteer and open the steering you can prevent some sliding and go forward instead of sideways.....
I know.... basics, Duuhh-moment...

That said..... 2:12.888 :lol::lol::dunce::gtplanet:
(that should stick for the top 100 right, doesn't for my best 28 but i'll take it! )

Simply lovely...

Was all kind of close though
and the exit of the final chicae was realy on the edge, i invalidated a lot of laps there.

Happy days guys

Little update: I managed to get a 6:18 but the lap was really bad, I mean so bad that I didn't even screenshot it to share because to me it didn't feel worthy to be shared nor was I satisfied. I made that same error like last time where it almost cost me a whole second but this time it looked to be around 0.6 lost just by that same silly mistake. But the good news is that I am getting better each session just by looking at my split times. If I can carry that same pace and not make the same mistake, my time would probably be a low 6:18 or maybe even break into the 6:17 zone. This combo is not very friendly for controller users but I'm going to keep pushing through!
It is good to know that at least in theory it is possible to get gold on this TT with a controller (not that I will be able to do it). What stick sensitivity do you use?

Allright, I get the point, I'm not posting here anymore until I post a decent lap time in any of the TT's. Don't ruin my holiday spirit now! Or I'll call the Grinch.

Well, finally!

I knew this was more than possible, I was on the verge so many times, sat down tonight and gave it ~30 laps for warmup, did nothing, couldn't get under 1:21.1, but the optimal time was 1:20.761, so it just had to be done. Restarted the session, rented a car for good luck, and literally in my first new lap I did this

I'm done, tomorrow I'll decide which TT will torture me next :D
Nice lap, don't think I ever had a .7 opt!

Going from this one to the Nords is a nice transition as it's another throttle-balancing act on racing softs. It's actually quite relaxing compared to the Porsche.

You must teach me your ways - I've been hanging on for dear life and spitting expletives. And I'll have to go again given I'm back in silver.
It's relaxing, you can have a nap in most of the corners! Just scraped a 6:19 yesterday and that's hopefully enough to move on to the S2000.

Hope you are following a ghost, it's a serious timesaver! Learn the hidden knowledge of the ghosts and then turn them off 👻

Congratulations, is incredible to get gold with a controller, what settings are you using? And any tips on the aproach? I very far from gold, 10 seconds, but silver is within 2 seconds or so. If you can share a replay even if is a bad lap for your standards will be amazing.
Very sorry, I did not see your post. As in settings do you mean assist? I have no assists except default ABS. My transmission is manual. As for tips, just practice is all I can say, watch the top 10 replays and learn what line they are taking. It's not an easy combo and it is a long lap with plenty of mistakes on the way but that also makes room for lots of improvement to be made. I'm not too sure about sharing a replay but I'll think about it.

After 2,500 km spread across multiple days, I finally achieved a decent time... 6:20.735.
I hope it will hold.
I used TCS 1 throughout the entire run, ABS set to default, with 10 sensitivity, no other assists, and manual transmission.
In case anyone would like to see the replay, you can find it under the "TTNUR" or "NURTT" tag (I forgot which one I used).

The new sector optimum time from all replays is now 06:10.069.
The gold cutoff time would be 06:21.171.

Thanks, I'm trying to follow a close ghost to gold (6:22 or something) in AT, I can follow him in GP section, need practice, and when I will confident try to practice MT, but being realistic, this is a very difficult combo to gold it for mere mortals.

After a slow start, I am whittling down my time. Started with TCS5 and am now down to TCS 2 except using TCS3 at T2/3, Karusell, and one more (after the 4 fast right hander, it's a slow left.. Also using AUTOmatic.

Finally a low 6.20 at the Nurburgring!!

Ah, there you are, Tribal Chief! I sincerely apologize for blanking on your GTP name in my previous post. :guilty: Four of us smashed in there together at RBR. Impressive time you've got at the Nurburgring, as well. I don't know if I can get into the low 20's and high teens the lot of you are setting.

So it seems my assumptions were correct, fixing that error put me at a very low 6:18 time and knocking down a whopping 0.8 off my previous PB but still I'm not too satisfied as I know there is still room for improvement. Now it seems like I can definitely get a 6:17 it's 100% possible after getting better and better split times through various failed attempts, the real challenge is chaining it all in 1 lap so I am going to keep going until I get it. Also I still have yet to improve my time at Grand Valley but honestly I'm having a blast at the Nurburgring I just really like this track even if the car is terrible, this is such a fun combo in my opinion but I am going to eventually head back to Grand Valley!

Nothing gets my interest like an NA VTEC Honda, and the s2000 is one of the best there is. This trial is super fun which is a relief after the past couple we've had (looking at you Rally Cross). Initial time is a 2:13.324 which places me 83rd currently but I'll be looking to improve that time.

The whole of Grand Valley feels like a weakness to me, I lose time through basically every corner and I don't think I really nail any corners except for the right hander in the tunnel. My best lap also felt extremely rough, which you can tell from the replay, there are lots of small twitches and the steering through the corner isn't smooth.

I forgot to take my normal screenshot of the time/rank etc so here's a photo of the car instead

As for the Redbull at the Nurburgring...

Well, fellas. I better start getting packed for my trip to the cold north known as Minnesota tomorrow. Some of you may know I've got spinal cord issues which have been severely limiting my walking abilities lately, so we'll see what the Mayo Clinic has on offer. That means no hotlapping for a few days, but I plan to hop on here to check out everyone's progress while I'm away. These alien times you guys are putting down are getting downright ridiculous. I definitely want to get back to the Nurburgring when I return and push for gold even though I'm not a fan of the X2019 and it'll likely be a fruitless effort.

(I promise the rest of my posts in this thread will be on-topic. If anyone is curious or wants to know more about my condition, feel free to PM me. I don't mind. :))

No problem mate, keep pushing at the Nurburgring, it's a question of practice with the x2019.
The Tribal Chief believes in you ☝🏻

Very good result with the S2000, a fun & chill TT and a relief from the insane X2019.

Same story here. Almost golden and my so-called friends are one second faster after their first stint. But why hurry when you enjoy the ride?!? 😀
View attachment 1408975
Some minor damages while looking for the limits but good fun because of understandable driving behaviour. The hunt is on!
Second stint over 10 laps and even more fun. I forgot to save a screenshot but some might see me rather close at this TT after some mediocre results during the last weeks... Right now I am just below 2:15 and might gain at least one tenth if I improve the righthander before the bridge. I enjoy this a lot and for another week. Have fun, fellow time-attackers!

300km later, we have a questionable gold at the Nurburgring. There is definitely a least 2 seconds on the table here, but I'm struggling to even finish a lap in this car without invalidating the lap or spinning. Traction control has been turned to 1 (for the second time in 2 weeks) purely because this car will just break if it doesn't like a bump.

The Redbull is simply too low to be on the Nurburgring, the switch from the GP track to the ring makes the car bottom out and behave weirdly, the entire first sector of the ring is spent bottom out over kerbs and camber in the track.

I'm still yet to get through the Carousel without popping out of it mid way through the corner. I've got no idea how the top time takes that corner so quickly whilst staying in the banking.

Definitely will need to come back here to try and get a safer gold, but I'd much rather be driving the s2000.

Well that's demotivating.......
Starting your session place 19 global, run a PB with minor improvement from 1:12.888 to 1:12.879 to exit the session and noticed you are placed 21 😡😡🤣🤣🤣

Ran my PB with ABS default for thr first time, normally I don't notice that much of a difference in ABS but on this combo I do , default has a lot more difficulty rotating in T1 but I can brake later on several corners, maby ill do another session on this one, kind of depends on what we get tomorrow 🤣

Time to master the ABS: change the setting depending on how far you are into the braking zone.

The problem is I can't change it duing the lap 😁 in my ideal world I could assign it to a button, I'm faster in T1 on weak but T5 is better with default 🤣
I just can't get the best of both world, but I think i could be faster with default, I'll try 😁

Could you press pause down a straight and change settings, then carry on? Not great for flow, but a trade-off.
