Had another go at Goodwood last night and am very pleased to have made it below 1:25 🤩

I already lost a few positions since then already (partly because of another one of @Gomario JSP's infamous early morning runs) ... but yeah, even being within striking distance to you is a big win for me. Also, @330_D: your move! 😉

What's encouraging is that I've gotten pretty consistent in the first two sectors, so the chicane has lost a bit of its terror as the great lap destroyer 🤣

Nice lap buddy!, it's getting kind of normal these days to boot up in the morning seeing you above me on the board, same this morning, so.... credits to you, you became mega fast past year, and realy uppend the competition for me and a lot of others, so cool to see a lot of you guys have been evolving like crazy.
I only have leaderboards of terror these days 🤣🤣, so well done!

Our split times after S2 were almost the same .847 for you and .826 for me so your drift on the next righthander did cost you some time cause looks like you chicane was very descent

Nice job mate! 🙏👽

...I hated it at first, but love everything about it right now......except.... yes @Barareklam 🤣🤣 it kills you, my fastest split was a 1:02.753 this morning but never even made it to the second apex of the chicane 🤣🤣
...
1:02.8** after S2 but chicane just kills it haha. Anyhow 1:24...I think I will not chase it anymore, it's just like 1 out of 100 attempts that I can pass chicane really fast without lap being invalideted this or that way...
Best of luck who is still chasing millisecond with Megane!

Btw, anyone who is monitoring tire temperature, is there any advantage of going few laps and get tires warm on Megane, is it better grip in the chicane then?
I am pressing retry since chicane kills the lap, and then I need to drive another one in order to start on valid lap...

Thanks a lot mate, that means so much. I'm doing what I can to keep the terror up 🤣

Yes, spot on analysis, the chicane was really good this time around, but the right-hander before that wasn't, even though that was often my strongest part of the lap, to the point where it feels like I'm even gaining a bit on @Metalgear9493 's ghost ... so that gives me hope 😜

New test in Goodwood :
I followed the advice of our friend Jomar (@Gomario JSP ) to pass the St Mary corner in fifth gear. And after laps and laps where this chicane of death can make you lose a good lap, I was able to improve my record and get closer to 1'24 with a time of 1'25'290
With ABS at weak

Bravo mon ami!

That is getting close to the 24's!
Nice lap, your chicane was on the edge! 🙏🙏👽

Shaved off a bit more, I think that's enough for me. Optimal is still showing another 1/2 second but I've had my fun here. I don't care what anyone else says, this abomination is the REAL chicane of death in my opinion. Dragon Trail I think gives you more leeway to correct a bad entry, even if it is much higher speed.

Closest I could get this morning was a 25.2 just not feeling it today. My left shoulder isn't great and maybe that is part of it. Anyway... I'll be back! 🍻

Back again for my weekly medal count, and this week I happen to have three of them (and they're all different from each other) to show you guys:
Gran Turismo™ 7_20241212111741.jpg

Yep... didn't bother much with this one, like some of you around here.
Only did 2 laps on this "thing", another 2 were invalidated due to going off track so... 500K for 2 laps isn't all that bad, and at least I tried! :D
Used Automatic Transmission, and TCS1.

The next one went a little better:
Gran Turismo™ 7_20241212111756.jpg

What a nice car! Sometimes it gets a little tricky to handle, but it was always a joy to drive this S2000 😍
After watching Doodle's replay and using his ghost, I REALLY improved my time...if only I had a little more time to keep at it, maybe (just maybe...) I could get even closer to Gold.
Ended up like 0.5 away from it, so to quote a very famous person I would say my time was "not to shabbbby at all"

And to top it off, there's this:
Gran Turismo™ 7_20241213120039.jpg

As I like to keep things interesting and to challenge myself, I decide to not use the scientifically approved method to go faster here: use a cow livery :ouch:
And boy, did I had to fight for this time! Used Chafe's replay and ghost for reference but still it wasn't coming along for me.
Was like 0.15 away from Gold (!!!), but I just couldn't seem to improve my time...
When I was starting to consider throwing the towel on this one (yeah, I was THAT frustated...), this miracle lap came along.

This track is definitely not an easy one, loads of very technical corners and those confusing track limits weren't making it easy on me.
Surprisingly, this is absolutely my best placing on the scoreboards to date, I've never been below 10,000 before!
I know it's gonna fall quite a bit until next Thursday, but still it's going to be a new PB for me and another Gold medal coming my way!

Hey all - busy week at work and away from home for a few days so not opportunity for any last minute improvement with the Honda.

Not sure I want to run any more at Lake Magiore... I think there is maybe 2 tenths in the lap, and it's quite an enjoyable event, but the interest isn't there right now. Had a quick go at Goodwood this morning - should be a fun event. Definitely a 1:24 in me given I'm at a ~25.3 within the first 40 miles 🤞
