This will be really fun!
Don't get scared by "Red Bull X2014" if you haven't driven this, the Junior is a really fun car to throw around and goes totally reasonable speeds.

Gosh dang you guys are fast out there at Maggiore. There are TWO cows faster than me!
I had a good time with the Huracan here. It took me a while to grasp trail braking this thing as it's super prone to oversteer on the binders, but eventually I softened up and the brakes become a great tool for getting the car to turn in. After a while the Huracan just did what I wanted it to do.
I couldn't drive it well enough to get my goal of a 2:04, but I'm happy with where I landed considering the competition here was bonkers!
Great job everyone! Excited to see the final leaderboard.

Did a last stint this morning at Lago Maggiore, with the Genesis, to see how it would end up with the car I used in the start but with better knowladge of the track.
I'd say it wants to widen the turns more than the Huracan and at first it seemed that I won't be able to improve, but my lap times were not bad and not far from the Huracan.
And then, the miracle lap happened, 3 good sectors, only sector 1 was not good, and I ended up improving, and entering top 10k 😁
After those 5 laps and this improvement secured, I went back until the time was finished but no improvement after that.
In the end it is 144 laps, and maybe I should have stuck with the Genesis, I caved in to the mad cow illness but that may not have been the best course of action for me.
Anyway in the end I am very happy with the result, gettting in the 2:06 and inside top 10k is a very satisfying result 😊

Just when you think the TT combos are starting to make sense again…
I got a few last laps in at Lago, still love that combo! One of my favourites in recent times and just a shame I only managed two short sessions to try it, life is wild right now and no let up till January so that might just be it for me this year 🥺
I’d like to try Goodwood in the Megane before it finishes but my gut feeling is that I just won’t have any time in the next week to do so

Well, I am proud of myself, I took the initiative last night to gun it and run 10 more laps and on Laps 9 and 10, I improved both times, 2'09.447 and 2'09.331. I'm glad I was able to make it into the silver club. You know what, if I had spent more time on it I may have gotten a time in the 2'07.000's and possibly would have earned a gold, but it's no big deal. However I'm enjoying my ps5. Had to flip it over on it's correct side.
@Dan_Tes What model ps5 do you have, the original or the Pro? The Pro was about $700 and didn't fit in our budget. The best time to get a Playstation unit is during Christmas and the holidays. I hope I don't have to start using my smartphone to record my laps, it's gonna be a hassle, but...

It will be a little better if you use SDR instead of HDR in GT7 but it doesn't fix it.
I realize this is off topic.. but it is topic adjacent I guess LOL.
I'll still put it in a spoiler as to not clog thread. I couldn't just not answer since I kinda know what's going on.
When you record in GT7 the PS5 uses a 10 bit color space wrapper and the file it saves looks like an HDR file when you look at the info in a program like mediainfo. Maybe not HDR, but still has a 10 bit color space. That's when you have a webm file. There's an option to record MP4 files and that only goes up to 1080p in GT7 recording, and that might work for direct upload if you also use SDR in game, not sure.
But when uploading directly to youtube (edit- uploading the file), there's an incompatibility with the file structure or something, I can't remember exactly, with the way YT re-encodes HDR vids that are recorded on PS5, and it doesn't process them properly. I think it has something to do with the meta data. I think you can modify the metadata and make it work but I don't have those tools. I read an article that explains it somewhere but don't remember the exact specifics.
Same thing happens when you upload a file from PS5 directly.
Sometimes a video player on PC will correctly "convert" the 10 bit file to play correctly on an SDR display on your PC, there might be a setting you can turn off to see what it will look like on YT. But if you are running HDR on your PC it'll look fine when playing it on PC. On youtube SDR or HDR files are washed out when when playing them in SDR. In HDR youtube player the HDR vids look better but they are still washed out and not re-encoded correctly by youtube and they look terrible on regular SDR youtube.
One solution is to take the file and put it into a video editor that can convert it properly to an 8 bit color space file. My old editor can't. It can't even read or use webm files or HDR files of any kind. So I can either run the vid on my PC in a video player and record the screen with Geforce Experience which actually looks very good but is way too time consuming. Or I can convert the file to an 8 bit color space MP4 file, put it in my old video editor, and then play with the levels till it looks ok. It'll never be perfect but can get an "ok" looking high bit-rate 4k 60 vid. I use Movavi video converter for that conversion. It's still way too time consuming though. Best thing to do would be to get a capture card probably, or a video editor that could quickly convert the files properly.
This particular vid was recorded in HDR I think but file is still treated the same by youtube even if it's been recorded in SDR on GT7/ PS5.
I'm not a pro at this so I could be explaining this wrong but anyways..

Youtube or Sony could EASILY fix this. I think it's probably very intentional. Kinda like when trying to transfer files directly from iphone to windows over USB. It's broken, has always been broken, and will always be broken. They do not want you to have control of your own files. They want you to pay for storage and pay for their services. Yeah my tinfoil hat is firmly in place 😆.

edit- I never got handbrake method to work before but I tried again with good results. Worth a try.

To be fair it's easier and quicker with less steps to snap a pic and upload from your phone. I have been guilty of that I think, when I was in a hurry.

I got scared when I saw this was the red bull.... Then realised it was the junior which I love as you can be so aggressive with it!
Pleased with this lap. Tidgneys pad lap is my target now, my optimal is a 1.45.2 atm so I'm going all guns blazing for this one! Just need to be braver on the final chicane. Annoyingly, if the chicane was the first corner, I'd try and nail it, but when I see I'm on a good lap I'm probably more cautious than I should be 😂

Agreed, I didn’t see it was the Junior earlier and after driving it wow.. the feedback is just perfect unlike the x2019, very easy to drive precisely! What a thing!

Ok, I'll try it that way. Or I can just save my replay in the showcase, people would just have to look up my recent laps in the gallery of my profile. I'll let you know what I do. I didn't know you had a Youtube channel. I subscribed to it a week ago. Brilliant driving lines on that Goodwood lap.
Heard rumours @TumeK5 @newmedia_dev can't get into the top 100, still lots more time to be found using a controller. 🫵🏼

People want the easy way and not having to boot up the PS to search for an ingame replay imo, like i said before, if you are looking for tips and tricks and input on you laps you have to put in some work yourself by uploading your fastest ( only the fastest lap ) onto this thread, just configurate your share butten to double tap for screen recording.
In my case i edit everything in Sharefactory-studio, so go to showcase/my items and hit the option button on the Duelsense when selected my recorded replay and load my recorded replay into sharefactory, from here i can edit and directly export to my linked youtube acount.
( linking have to be done in another section of the PS5 ( users and acounts / linked services )
But saying "hey guys my replay is ingame check it out" ain't going to get you a lot of reply's ...just saying.
