@A_Higher_Place you are really cementing yourself into aliens territory it looks like.

Got a bit of a late start to this one again, but it's fun one for sure.

Great, now I'm motivated to break out the NSX GT500 again. That is actually what I used last time at Spa and scored a silver lap. So I'll stick with that and keep the TCS at 0-1. Good luck guys and aliens, xD.

Morning folks,

I had a serious look again this time at Spa,
Still think it's not the best car for the track but maby it's the gearbox?, there are to many points exactly in the middle of 2nd or 3th gear on exits which is even harder to choose a gear with an atmospherical engine.

But the real buggers are Speaker's corner and Campus for me.
Speaker's is a mystery, 3th is too slow and second is so hard to time right, and if you are slightly off you loose a huge amount of momentum for the straight after that.

Stavelot Is a real time winner IF you hit Campus right, but that bollard is killing me most of the time but was good at my hotlap

Full send at Stavelot Is very satisfying

But......Blanchimont full send.... hell no, I ain't got the b*lls for that on a hotlap 🤣

Insane how some of you end up in the 17's 🙏

I wanted to dip into the 18's today and after some restarts I finally did a 18.98 something.. , that became a 909.....8xx ...6xx... and eventually a .477 @1.18%

So not to Shabbbyyyyy at all for me on this combo, top 100 isn't going to work for me here 🙈🤣, but ill take this!

Next please! 🤣

Hi folks

Happy New Year!! I was busy losing my mind at Tsukuba last night, there is something absolutely frustrating about that track and I think low speed corner physics don’t help in GT7, grip seems a bit of a mystery so low speed turn in just seems to be turn and hope and with those sports hard tyres if you get it slightly wrong and overheat them it’s game over.

So a challenge, but not necessarily the most fun challenge. I am off to work tonight so might be me done for this one, special shout out to @half_sourly for and incredible time and presumably done without steery cheat modeunlike cheating heathens like me!

Getting used to @Vule being ahead of me and @A_Higher_Place if you want to add me on PSN I can be below you too!

Thank you sir, but no, steery cheat modefully engaged for this one. Tried it without, but I'm not good enough for that. ABS weak made quite a difference too for me.

It is a great little challenge - short enough that a mistake and reset doesn't matter, slippery enough to make it difficult, even with steery cheat mode, good precision on brake release and lines required, but great fun. On my best run my S1 wasn't great (24.25), but I had close to optimal S2 (27.47x) and S3 (10.49x) - the .47 and .49 might be other way around? - but I'm done now, probably. I think I saved the lap so will put it on here later.

EDIT: Video added

Nice breakdown, I did try with ABS weak but found I didn’t have time to learn exactly how much braking pressure I could get away with rolling into turns, it seemed like the WR ghost was definitely using ABS weak too but I couldn’t get it to stick for me! steery cheat modemade the biggest difference for me, car felt a lot more natural as it sometimes does with it and far more consistent in its responses! Let’s hope those times stick for a top 100 finish 😎

Very very smooth run, you can't see any under or oversteer.....my lap was a workout, you seem to do this onehanded while excel-stats- updating with your right hand ..
🤣🤣

Or maybe, being from another planet and all, he has 4 arms and he's able to hide a pair of them when he goes out among the humans on this planet?

Yup, ABS weak all day for this one, but you are right, you need to learn and feel the car while turning, it can make a big difference if you get it just spot on. Of course, getting one corner spot on usually means you screw up the next one and so on... :D

And the steery cheat mode is a must here :D Unlike on Spa, where it completely dulls out the already understeery NSX, it cannot be done, I must turn it off completely to have some rotation.

Today I had time to devote to the second TT, again in the NSX, but this time in the GT500 version.
Before my inactivity I drove a lot of GT3, so I was very curious to see how fast I would find the pace.
Spa is one of my favorite tracks, but omg the bollards are a pain in the ass. I've ruined countless laps because of them.

In the end, a 2:17.909 is on the clock.

The lap was pretty messy and I missed 2-3 apexes completely but I'm still happy for now. Without the mistakes, a 2:17.4 or 5 is possible. But it will be a struggle to get the lap together.
At the moment that's enough for the top 100 but I don't think the time will be enough.

I’m with you @Dolph Drago, samesies! And agree with an angryish @Evilmuffin this thing loves to understeer but when it gets rotating it’s a lot of fun and is very easy to get the power down early. I like it but yeah Spa is a challenge… I always find the long straights give me too much time to think and the bus stop chicane, ugh.. many a perfect lap has been torpedoed there.

Happy to be in the 2:17s but a lot of work needed to get that perfect lap, I should be away until Sunday so see you then good people

I have rejoined the fold with a proper wheel and rig after an 18 month absence and it is quite the fright. Guys i was pretty close to (MatM, Kosmos, Revengel, Malta Saab) I am a full 1+ seconds off them in the SPA hot lap.

I just cannot feel the edge of the grip level on wheel like i can on a controller and over or under shoot the corners.

Chastening.

Well no wheel/ VR for me as I have a nasty cold. So in my misery last night I tried this one on a controller, auto gears, CSA weak, ABS weak.
it was almost impossible for me to gold w/ pad but I managed one clean gold lap.
My brain is writing a lot of checks my thumbs can't cash on this one. I feel like I'm driving with boxing gloves on w/ a pad. But somehow I did this one clean gold lap.

And a vid just because for me, with a pad and AT, this was a miracle lap.

Not sure I'll be doing many TTs in the next few weeks/ month. Not because I don't want to, but because my brother had a very bad accident last night and I have to go to GA to be with them. I was up doing this TT last night trying to keep my mind occupied, waiting for news on the horrific situation.

These TTs are good for that, keeping your mind occupied, kind of like riding a motorcycle. You need total concentration.

Good news, my brother and his wife will live, but my bro may never walk again and I can't even believe it.
Thanks for any and all condolences in advance. I may be absent for a while.

If you're a praying kind of person, please say a prayer for my bro, his name is Eric. He's the best brother anyone could ever ask for.. 🙏 Thank you.

I gave your post a thumbs up for the lap time. That was before I read your spoiler. I'm sorry to hear about your brother and hope things turn out the best they can! 🙏

Keep chugging @Gorefast hope you beat me soon!!
Congrats, great lap time! I also hope to beat you 😁 but that's still to prove. No matter how much I love that track ❤️ and the NSX it seems that I am rather slow.

Wow, i think it's the first gold for me in spa. It took a code brown lap with a code brown ^2 moment at blanchimont

I don't think i can better this, and i don't care if it will not stay, I'm just happy to be right now right here at the university of race

Nice achievement!, not the easiest track to gold!
I realy hope that's going to stick for you!, otherwise..... you have to go again  :):)

Great job!

Hey TT plug-in users,

sorry for the inconvenience, but you'll have to yet again update the script from greasyfork.org if you want to continue using it. On the plus side, it will now update lap times much more frequently (every 10 minutes) for the top 3000 ranks. Everything below that will be updated every two hours as before (I have to draw the line somewhere, sorry).

@BWX and everyone else who might have customized the script to their likings: the only change is the backend URL, so you can also do that on your own if you feel comfortable.

In terms of actual driving, there's not much to report. Didn't have a lot of opportunities this year so far, and Spa doesn't appeal to me all that much to be honest, but at least I have a safe gold at 2:19.489. I expect to be back in attack mode at Road Atlanta on Thursday! ;)

CU guys.

Edit: just read your last post @BWX. All the best for your family! Stay strong!
