Road cars are not my strong suit really. Looking forward to the next GR3 one at Daytona.
Same here :)

But I guess it's like that for most people, at least the competitive aliens, I have the impression that it's much much harder to enter let's say top 50 in Gr3 TT than it is in any other road car TT, not many people like them and they just gold it and go back to daily racing or whatever...

As for this Focus TT, man, it's so hard to put together a proper lap, but at the same time, it's so addictive, because there is so much time to be found everywhere. I had some amazing sectors individually, but it's always something. I'm at 1:32.299 currently, I firmly believe 31s are on the table if I learn how to exit to the back straight properly, and if I achieve that, I'll be happy and leave this alone :D

First session in Ford at Atlanta, 50km, start to kind of like it, I think

I Nokia style shredded some rubber at RA just now, good to have a idea of the car, uppend some apex gears and tried to fight the car a little less what seems to work for me, should find some extra time on the TV tomorrow, but a good start today, fun challenge, I'll take these ones any day instead of a GR3 altho I look forward to Daytona 😁😁🤣

First time since New Years' that I have had time for a session. May be the last for a while, going in tomorrow for another new zipper. Hopefully I'm faster when I heal. Time will tell. Not a bad first session at Spa, but I needed another half second for this one, so another short(6) top 1000 streak ends. Apparently it's my turn to be the easy rabbit.

First attempt at Road Atlanta. I think I'm really going to enjoy this one, although it did give me some headaches in the beginning. These days I often just watch the WR (or fastest available) replay and then try to follow its ghost immediately. This works fine for me in general, but it means I often need quite a few attempts to even complete a valid lap because I'm pushing too hard instead of finding the limit organically.

For this one I had a hard time even completing sector one without the lap time turning red, until I found out that I was simply too timid with the brake trying not to unsettle the car. You can be really aggressive here as long as you brake in a straight line.

For now I'm happy with the result, enough to sneak just past @Gomario JSP (in his Nokia disguise ;)), but I think a few more tenths are definitely possible.

Nice one, assuming traction was off?
Traction control is normally always off unless it's something absolutely bonkers haha

@Tidgney always thanks of your video. Depending on the specific challenge I choose when to look at them. They are playing for me different roles: target / insperation / confirmation, but they always are a permanent marker in my learning process.

Out of curiosity (and a bit off-topic): I guess you are using SimDashboard or similar to get tyre temps. Is there a way to also extract or desume tyre consumption? I know TT doesn't consume tyres, but here and there I'm driving endurance sessions for fun in cockpit mode with no overlays using SimDashboard on my cell, and I'm not sensible enough yet to have an opition on that without looking at the actual overlay info.

Thanks
No worries at all! I use Simdashbaord via an emulator. I've never looked into that but I can't see why not? Essentially I believe any information that Gran Turismo is showing is blasted out on the network absolutely everywhere but I can't confirm 100% that is the case. Sorry I can't be more help!

Wow, you're on it today bud! It's great we're using the Ford Focus car this time. I think many players will find this TT to be smooth and pleasant. Those blind corners at the beginning can be an issue, you have to use extra caution. Plus the area where the blue/yellow sausages are can mess up your lap, (it's around Sector 2). Those two consecutive right turns at Sector 3 need a good line for better lap times, so timing is the key here. I'll do my best and try to get a high silver. It depends on how much effort I exert here. Good luck to you and everyone participating in this challenge.

Now I really want to know who you're hiding behind that black bar though ;)
It was just someone on my friend's list that didn't agree - per say - to be posted. But now that I think about it, that doesn't even make sense because we all (myself included) do it all the time; it's not like their face was visible. My intentions were pure as I was trying to be respectful but on second thought a waste of time. Ah well...

Not a bad first stint.

I owned a 2012 Focus ST for a short minute and absolutely loved that car except that it was a Ford and it acted like it. 😂

Fun trial. I'll be back!
Hey, I saw one of SammySnakeRacing's video's last week about the Barcelona RedBull TT, he's also a great tutor too. I gotta get to work at Spa, the money won't fall in my lap. I have to work hard for it! And good luck to you man.

Man, this thing understeers like mad for me unless I get a fortuitous slide on corner entry and square off the exit. There are quite a few tenths out there if I'm a little smoother in spots. Optimal was in the .4's. But I didn't want to burn myself out on day 1, so it wasn't a real long session. (Very lucky I kept it on track long enough in the final corner to register a clean lap! :scared:)

Hi everyone. I haven't posted in a long time but have kept on time trialing consistently.
I got so frustrated with the tsukuba nsx that I didn't bother improving my time when I finally slipped into gold. Big mistake. Missed gold by .04% due to some aliens deciding to come out of hibernation last second. 😂
Congratulations to @Pesselles for avoiding this fate by the slimmest of margins.

If any of you would like to add me in game I would be glad to have you. My leaderboard is saddeningly short. 🙂

My PSN name is insomniacsloth. I guess I am going to change it to Wilsonson(some number) soon because GT7 is easily 90% of my play time.

Got started on the Spa TT last night. After 5 laps I thought I'd absolutely smashed it, found the rhythm and nailed a gold time; only to find out I was halfway through silver at 3.98%... I'm not sure why but this is a circuit where whenever I think I've done amazingly well I'm still ages off the top times. Need to try work out where I'm losing time against you fast guys!

First real ( not Nokia-style ) session with the Focus, and i am beginning to understand it a bit more,
now i only have to find some consistency on S2.
PB lap with a bad S1 there my fastest of today was a .243 and this lap was a .320 but it's difficult to be "slide-consistent"

3th and grass are your friends here...., tracklimits are not that bad actually!

T1 is such a blast if you nail it with some brake/throttle weight playing !

@crome found some! 😁
I'll await your .350 or something 🤣

Pure abuse of tracklimits

Have a good weekend folks,
