Found another lil bit! Opt time would be me in 12th or 13th-ish currently. Doubt I'll run that as I'd need the grail of all grails. Really fun to drive here!

I went to a car meet last night so I had to start playing at 3pm which is not usual for me. After about an hour, I called it quits because I just didn't have the energy to continue. Still, not a terrible time but I'm somehow behind @Pesselles so there's definitely room for improvement.

I made some more progress at Road Atlanta, 1'36.251. I'm starting to understand the turn 1 at Road Atlanta, you have to brake close to the cones and then turn right smoothly without the car sliding. The first Sector requires a lot of focus and precision near the blind corner. I'll get the hang of it, it's all about trial and error and using different driving lines and braking points between the 0-100 meter marks. I'm gonna show some videos of what mistakes I'm making. The two consecutive right turns can be tricky too, this part was also in Master license B-9. Remember that? Finding the correct braking point is key for having a strong exit from any turn or corner.
And do not get me started on the final chicane near the Firefox Factory thing. I must try to get in the 1'35.000 zone tonight. If not, maybe by tomorrow.

This place is crazy fast… feel like I’m standing still while the rest of you are all getting faster. Succumbed to peer pressure 😆 and switched over to the Viper. First 10 laps and 3 tenths faster than my lap in the Corvette and agonizingly close to dropping into the 44s. Optimal splits look promising though, and the Viper’s a fast car, it just needs some persuasion to stop, turn and put down its power lol!! Happy lapping

Positives:
I started with the Ford GT and came away horrified at how slippery it was accelerating out of the slow corners. That gives you an idea of how long it’s been since I’ve pushed Gr.3 cars, how infrequently I drive Daytona and how much of a gorilla I still am with my driving inputs.
The Dodge Danger Noodle helped me learn throttle discipline and I ended up with my best time in the Ford GT. I may revisit this, but I need a couple days to recover mentally.
Negatives:
Off throttle, the cars that I drove felt as if they had a window where it was OK to turn in, then PD noticed that I hadn’t done anything with the throttle or brakes for too long and flipped the punishment understeer switch.
The cars felt OK to exit slow corners around 95% throttle, then had no grip to accelerate at 100% throttle.
Me: This looks good. Full power now?
Also Me, but as the Car: No! 98% throttle only until the road is 110% straight, otherwise I stop accelerating.
Crew Chief: ... Are you OK?
I feel that I need to keep the car in a narrow window of braking, throttle and turning; otherwise they just fall apart. It’s as if the Gr.3 cars are intentionally set up to be hard to drive – hard for the sake of being hard. Driving them feels like all work with no reward.

Another 10 lap stint in the Viper… got there in the end albeit with a bit of a mediocre sector 1. Again the optimal for this stint was 1:44.7 so will be chasing that tomorrow- cheers

Last weekend was one of them not feeling GT7 again, shame as I missed out on the GT3 Spa after recreating the Castrol NSX so I could change the colours 🤦🏻♂️
Friday night the wife was out, so switched the PS4 on and still didn't get that feeling, so tried out MFGT and I have to say, it is nice seeing my name at the top of my friends list 🤣 and not just once either 👽😝
So onto yesterday, I finally decided to just jump back in, with a BTCC livery...
Didn't like the Ford at all 😅 so that was short lived...
Went back for a few more laps but no more improvement
From my visit to Silverstone last year, whoever recreated the livery did a pretty good job 👍🏻
I have cleaned the dust off the AMG for Daytona but probably won't bother with it until next weekend as have a busy day today and busy week ahead with work.

New test today in Daytona :
after the advice of @crome who told me to put the CSA on strong, the TC on 2 and the advice of @Gomario JSP who told me to put the TC on 0 and exit in 3rd, I decided to make a mix of the 2 !!!!
First of all I kept the CSA on strong and I put the TC at 0 and used 3rd on exiting the turns. Well I would like to thank them because thanks to their advice I was able to improve my time to 1'45'559 with an optimal time of 1'45'470

In preparation of my 2 Hour Roar before 24 race this sat this TT is definitely going to help me. We can use mediums and soft tires, so the hards will sharpen me up before for the race. I can def hit Mid 45 with some seat time… I did the Daytona GT3 race for some practice and a lil TT. You guys are truly amazing and inspiring with your driving and the way you help anyone get faster.. One of the best threads for GT7 imo!
