New stint tonight after a rather and annoying day of work, but something strange happened.

Was doing rather mediocre laps, not as "good" as at lunchbreak, and in lap where I was coming onto the bus-stop with a meager -0.1s on the best lap of the stint yet (1:47.512), I somehow managed to exit bus-stop with more than a second and it was growing 😱

Would I be able to carry it until the finish line, with only a very easy long banked turn???

YES !!

And I find myself "deep" into gold territory totally by surprise, with a lap far better than my overall optimal

It is easy to spot the lap on the lap recap, all best sectors except S1

Evening fellas,

Off topic...

Not that heavy on the replies from my side due to a bad few days with a sudden sort of illness, weak, a head that felt like been hit by a train, and dizzy like a hamster on whisky... so had to take it back a notch.....but I'm back again... 🤣

On topic

Congrats to all you Daytona warriors, I see there is some serious competition....😱😱
How the heck is everybody so fast here?
I was glad I ended in the 44's but that seems kind of slow now 🤣🤣

Meanwhile I took a look at the international board for Road Atlanta..... place 95 the evening before closer isn't the best place to be if you want to stay on the first page 🙈🤣

My fastest recorded S1 with the focus was a .061 but had a sort of twitch on the hand while braking for the right hander after so totally stuffed it up 🙈, and never could replicate the S1 ....

Was a good S1 though!

But went out again trying to secure the top 100..... and after some laps the S1 times just werent't there, mid .2xx's only but then finally a .170 with a descent 2 righthanders after,

Went all in on the last chicane by dipping in VERY early to straighten out the exit what almost went wrong, that was very close on the exit 🙈🤣🤣 ....but.....between the lines 🤣 and finally into the 31, 's and 68 on the board 🍾🍾

1:31.935 😁

Happy lapping mates, and let's see what we are going to get tomorrow 😁

Pardon, @Lomic ! It is one step closer to a sub-46 lap time with a new optimum of 1:45:7xx. Feels good but not yet finished...

I gotta grind hard these next 7 hours. Honestly I don't know if I'll be able to get into the gold zone, maybe silver? But I'll have to use MT and possibly ditch the face buttons. I still don't like the blind corner and esses/turns in Sector 1/2. People can risk losing time if they don't pay attention and apply more critical skills there. We will see how it goes tonight, but I can't promise anything.

I hope the next TT takes place at BB raceway, at least there won't be many crazy turns and hairpins/deltas to dodge and drive through. But I know some will be against that decision. What PD should start doing is letting us choose from three tracks and whichever one gets the highest vote is the track for the current TT. That's fair because most of the time, about 50-60% doesn't agree with PD's choice of car/track combos. Some might think it's too hard while the rest of the group think's it's a piece of cake.

You said that tousands of times already.. JUST DO IT or stop writing the same thing over and over and over... You can`t expect to improve if you do the same thing again and again. Try a different approch.

The people here gave you so much great advice. Use it and you will improve.

and EXACTLY tied with me! lol...I'm going to try and get back on top if I can. No luck this evening.

With a few hrs left I thought I'd try the focus one more time, previous best was a 35.1. It was tough as I'd been driving the karts but by lap 5 I put together a good lap for a 1.34.102.......... gold by a bees appendage. Hope it makes the cut as the karts are too much fun to spend more time grinding that bus.

@NevilleNobody Good job man, I'm not worried about gold this go-round. Enjoy the 2M! I'm not a wheel fan TBH, afraid my legs will cramp up from stepping on the pedals so much while driving like a maniac, xD.

EDIT: Great, I'll still at 1'36.251. Damn, I thought I would get in the 1'35.000's but nope. I followed the advice of GT_Tuga, Dan and Neville and it still didn't work. I talk but I don't act quickly enough. That's the issue with me and the game.

New stint at Daytona before work.

Faqed up bus-stop at first lap, too bad, all the remaining of the lap was pretty spot on, so lap 2 dead.

Did the same (but by a much smaller margin) on lap 4, so lap 5 dead too.

Best lap 1:47.265, far away from yesterday's miracle lap.

No improvement anywhere, including any sector.

70 laps in

Not looking forward to next TT...

Gave Daytona another try to put me a bit more safe in the gold area.
The Viper does not agree with me, so i gave the trusted Ford GT another outing.
1st lap set a banker of 1.47.1 what is only 2/10ths from my PB at the time.
2nd lap 1.46.4xx

That puts me safe in gold. Maybe I'll try to get the elusive 1.45 because optimal was showing 1.46.131

First to give that Ferrari a go🤌

Very pleased with another top 100 finish, still absolutely fighting for it and i love it.
68 at Atlanta it is! :):), old PB would have still been 96 though :lol: but i did sleep a lot better!

This morning i did a short stint in the Viper and for the first time had a couple of .9xx when up the banking but chicane hated me, did go from 44.980 to a whopping 44.970

But now....... this new TT...... yes, haven't even driven a meter but i know i'll love this one, i can remember the Testarossa beeing a bit understeery but i do remember overdriving it was easy, so slow will prob. be quick!,

Can't wait to try that out

Brilliant, I'm jumping in right now!!

@Gogga Good morning, enjoy the brand new TT at Brands Hatch, and I changed my settings this time.

L2:Accelerate
R2: Brake
Square: Shift Up(MT)
X button: Shift Down(MT)
Thanks Chris. I'm not so active here lately and my game time is almost non existent. I do however very much enjoy the read through this thread when I do have a minute. Its always great to see everyone's progress.

PLEASE DO KEEP TO THIS BUTTON LAYOUT. It's the only way. Keep at it, it will become second nature.

Goodluck

Not on GT7 much lately, but still doing the TTs at least once a week. This one has surprisingly pleasant handling, although the tyres need to be up to temp, where optimal grip starts around lap 3 going into 4.

guys @All you gt planet TT ninjas, I am a bit confused about tire temperatures, do they have impact or do they not have impact, I know one of you claim one thing, "restart and lap 1 tires are best" and some claim we need few laps for tires to reach best performance.
Asked Tidggney on youtube and here is his answer.
What are your thoughts, lap 1 or few laps?

I agree with Tidgney. I almost always restart, so most of my times are lap 1 outcomes. I'm no ninja/alien, but I've had a few top 100 results and over the first 123 TTs have been on average in the top 0.57% of drivers. That of course is not evidence, as I might have been doing better if I do multiple laps, but it is context.
