Hey folks! Back home thank goodness and feeling rubbish this morning meant everything including some cockpit time got put on hold, think I might have inherited @Gomario JSP ’s illness 🤧

First attempt at Brands Hatch, I didn’t know what to expect with the Testarossa; an older car on sports hard tyres could be a recipe for an unruly nightmare but it’s actually nicely balanced and controlled unlike that ugly Focus RS trial that brought out all of the worst of GT7 physics. There is the occasional unrealistic out of control spin but on the whole it’s nicely balanced goodness all round!

All assists off an ABS normal. Are people who are setting really fast times at Daytona in the Viper using CSA or not? Feels like one of those trials that it could really help.

I’ve uploaded my usual lap to YouTube and a VR version below it if anyone is interested 😁

I was fighting with Focus on RA until end and didn't made it to get gold.
And I was so close, already on 11th I set my PB, that unfortunately stayed that until the end.

I like the new TT with Testarossa at Brands Hatch, still no lap at Daytona bcs I hate when they have zero imagination and put whole class to choice.

All I'm using is CSA weak. Nothing else. I also have always thought that for road cars it makes them slide more like a real car. Not that stupid snap oversteer like this game feeds us.
I hadn't thought of it this way before but that's actually a really good way to look at it 👍🏻

It's official... Aliens do get catch illnesses...

All humans left among this group, jump into this TT now, we may stand a tiny chance 🤣

(jokes aside, @Dan_Tes @Gomario JSP hope you both get better soon... preferably after the TT though 😉)

uh guys we're going to have to calm down a little anyway !!!!! What are the times you've been giving us for several weeks !!!!

You all scare me !!!!! 🤣🤣
You are sick... or maybe the invasion is starting... it is no longer the COVID epidemic but an alien mutation !!!! 👽👽 🤣🤣

Scully...Mulder at work !!!! 🤣🤣

more seriously I congratulate you all on your rankings and your times at the start of the year !!!! You are strong, very strong and you have made enormous progress :bowdown:
Bravo at all 👏👏👏

I was hoping for a good long stint in the Ferrari but my alarm clock and me.... no friends..
overslept like a baby this morning meaning i only had about time for 60 miles at the hatch.
but i did shave of some time

this one is realy fun!, but now i'm at work doing less fun stuff 😂😂

Should me plenty more time to gain here cause it was a very sloppy lap

@Dan_Tes good to hear you still can get sick buddy, that means deep inside there is still a connection 😂😘

So after a bit of a TT hiatus, I came back last night to run a bunch of laps at both events.

At first I went to Daytona, hopped into the Viper* and put in a bunch of laps, trying to get my braking points right and re-familiarising myself with this circuit. Abandoned a bunch of laps where I got a bit greedy into the braking zones (mainly around the first right-hand hairpin) or stupidly clipped the barrier trying to get up speed before the line, exited back to the home screen to see I was sitting in bronze, placed approx. 93,000th! Aaaaand, somehow I'd actually hopped into the old AMG GT, not the Viper! Didn't even spot the difference (they're both silver and similar proportions) and no idea how I managed to not spot it when I switched - quickly - through the views on one of my laps. Even saw "Sauber Engineering" on the rear bumper and didn't twig!

Anyway, I then re-ran the event with the actual Viper. I only put in one lap (two abandoned attempts with similar symptoms to those described above) and it was a safe silver at 1.48.4XX. That'll do for the moment, but I will be back to make some improvements on that. Daytona is not my favourite, by a long shot, so it'll be a massive struggle to get gold.

Over to Brands Hatch - one of my favourite circuits - and I decided to use my green high-mileage Testarossa and leave the super low-mileage Nero Daytona and Rosso Corsa cars in the garage. Being limited on time I only ran a handful of laps, but ended up with a fairly safe silver (can't remember the time, but I was ranked in the 5,000's so it'll be fine for the moment.

I didn't set a really fast time, but I can answer, like in most cases, it numbs the car a bit, it's harder to turn sharp, but it adds stability for sure. Mind you, the track is so bumpy and the Viper has so much torque, especially for RHs, CSA doesn't help as much, you will still spin. It's frustrating, and also inconsistent, sometimes I floor it and it just sticks and goes, but in most cases it just spins the rears and you lose the lap. Luckily there is the Testarossa TT so I can forget about Daytona

Hello there (early braking)

I had another go at Brands Hatch with the V12 Italian Red Headed. I set CSA up to strong, adjusted my braking points and got down to 1:38:359.

Which is currently 2,39% and 0.6 seconds into the gold range.

That should hold (I guess) and I hope it will because I'm not going back unless my gold is at danger. Didn't like this combo it all.

The car is fine, but BH is not a track I really like.

First test of the new TT at Brands Hatch :
if I remember correctly, last year the TT83 on this same circuit with the Nissan Silvia, allowed me to reach 178th place in the world (my record still in progress).
And for a first test with the Ferrari I'm rather happy with it even if I'm still far from there.
With TC at 0, ABS by default I was able to do a time at 1'38'264

Wow the Testarossa is a handful, really struggling for rotation, she just REFUSES to turn. I have a lot to learn with this one, tough track for it too, may need to try and trail brake, maybe left foot brake and and balance with some throttle to tuck the nose in?

At Daytona I am really struggling to beat my 47.1, the two right handers are super tough, feel i bleed a lot of time there. I am not sure of the line, if I square it up i lose time mid corner but can blast out, if i take the traditional line i just cannot put the power down early enough.

If I may say something about the Ferrari since I also had initial difficulties with the thing, I'd say early braking is your friend. One of the very first things we adjust when the car is not turning in as we want/need is the braking point.

So brake early, let the car coast a little, and see/feel when you can hit the throttle again. Fight the urge to do late braking and to overdrive the car. Slow in fast out is key.

Gold is achieveable if you are patient with the Red Headed girl.

I am surprise dhow aggressive Dolph's lap was (replay at top of this page). He is turning in very early but man he had 3 moments where he was mm from death.

Sitting at 1:37.3xx as of this morning at BH. Optimal is for a 36.6xx that I just could not string together. Hoping to have another go at the weekend.

@Dan_Tes I used CSA weak for the Viper. Like @Vule said, I find it to be pretty unpredictable but I didn't feel like I was limited for rotation.
Cheers guys! I always go hard or go home with CSA so I tried it on strong, as @Vule says it’s not the magic pill but it does seem to allow me to get on the power more consistently and therefore I think it’s making a positive difference. Now it’s just a question of ABS default or weak; the latter seems to be what the world record lap was set using but I’m finding myself consistently slower than with it on default. Any thoughts folks?

I’m not here to break your heart @A_Higher_Place But merely keep up with my 50th in the world ish average placing for 2025. If I finish one thousandth of a second slower than your best time I’ll be happy

(Just kidding I’m coming for you)

Nah, go for it! I'm punching way above my weight in this TT. If I can stay top 100 then I'm happy! I probably won't be able to run my 44 flat opt so manifest whatever evil is in that little girl to get yourself up there ;).

I always use weak abs. Can't say I tried normal/default for the Daytona TT.

Getting into the gold range is one thing, fighting for top leaderboard ranks is an entirely different game.

We have dozens of top 100 players around here, some even say they are from a different planet. 😁😁

Hello! I just completed my first lap at Brands Hatch and did fairly good, 1'44.095. I just uploaded my video with sound, so give it an hour or two. I'll post my run here later on this afternoon, but you guys in Europe are probably at nighttime by now, it should be 6:00pm over in Europe/UK. Graham Hill is hard to perfect, you can understeer and slide/crash if you don't brake early enough. Braking late will cause the car to miss the turn going downhill and you'll end up in the sand trap.

This new TT is exposing my limits....
No way i can make it
I tryed, i tryed again
And again
And again
My brain refuses to do it

I really cannot change the livery. It must be plain red, nothing else

Pwaaah. Quite happy with this but I can feel a 36 is doable if I lock in.

ABS Weak, no other assists.

Lovely car to drive around here though. Really great combo. Interesting to get your head around at first, the medium speed understeer onto exit oversteer certainly makes for some challenging corners.
