Hi,

tl:dr
when no soft tires are available do you use rains as softs? Am I doing something wrong?

I started a rerun of my career (60/50) and flew through the formula rookie.

I went up to the sportscars lites if I'm correct in the catherham. In the first race I just couldn't drive the car confidently due to thhe tires losing heat. And since there are no softs I switched to rain tires. I'm now able to keep up with the ai and race confidently. Do others use the rain tires as softs when no softs are available? Am I doing something wrong?

I used the wets by mistake during qualifying but cant remember the series. All my lap times dropped by a second at once. I'm pretty sure it shouldn't work like that or else racers would use them in real life also they should wear out pretty fast in the dry. Races that start dry and end up wet can usually be won easily by just starting with wets and avoiding the pit stop that the ai will take.

Have you tried the lower triers after patch5? Because now I'm even more confused. The slicks feel like the hard slicks do after patch 5. Note I didn't have this issue with the formula rookie but I do have it with the sportscars lites. Simply changing them to rains dropped my laptimes at donnington national by 5seconds as now I could actually go on the gas after a corner.

I shall try and make a quick clip tonight and see how to upload it.

Also note that when softs are available grpC, gt cars a lot of formula cars have a soft tires option which is a better option over the rains the sportcars lites don't have this option.

I've only played post patch 5 and yes I also too with wets could knock seconds off qualifying with the sportscar lites. I switched back because I've been tuning and posting times here so bogus settings would get noticed pretty fast!
