Okay, we all notice (hopefully) that if you put camber on your car and take it to the tracks, you can see the wheels sitting on an angle. Well, last nite I took an Alfa Spider 2.0 to the 400m track and I noticed that if you put sports tires on with normal tires that there is a difference in size. The sports tires clearly make the wheels bigger, since they're supposed to be low-profile. It's kinda hard to notice, but it's there!

I even did a test, and had one of my housemates switch the tires around while I wasn't looking, so that the front would be shod with sports and the rear normals or vice-versa, and then I tried to guess which was which. Tried a couple other cars and there definitely is a difference in size. How cool is that?

Shame they didn't pay that much attention to detail on the other parts of the game. Have you tried any of the other GT games to see if they are the same?

No, I haven't checked out GT1 yet, but it's probly the same deal. I know in GT1 you can see camber. I thought that was the coolest thing: one day I was racing a Viper and put like 7° of camber on the front wheels and that's the first time I noticed them angled out. I mean, the tire thing is barely noticeable. You can only see it in the 400m or 1000m replay cuz the camera is sitting right beside the car.

I always thought the tires (or wheels from the wheel shop) made the wheels bigger... big rims on a Mini, anyone?

Hmmm, well I haven't tried this yet. This would be harder to judge since you can't have different sets of wheels on the front & back of your car. Well, maybe some of our hybrid experts could enlighten us...

I think there are seperate codes for the front and back wheels so it should be possible to put different tires on the front and back. I also found a code where you could change the size of the tires but I have never tied either of these. I bet Hybridvr could inform us.

You can put different tires on front and rear - the bit in the car settings where you put the stuff on has two bits of tires: front and rear. it drops down a menuwith the tires you have bought. You can put sports on front, hard slicks on back etc..

Hey give me some credit! I know you can put different tires on, I'm talking about different wheels...like a BBS up front and a stock rim in the back.
