Hi, I'm thinking about getting one of these beauties when I've saved some pennies.
One thing I have just noticed is there is no D PAD on the wheel , how do you look left, right and back ?

Thanks.

There is a D-pad on the shifter unit, check a picture of it and you will see.

The left hand button on the front of the wheel looks back. As Viper said, the Dpad to look left and right is on the shifter unit.

Thanks, looking left and right is very important for me(or will be when online is updated) . At the moment I use a Driving force EX or RX as it's labelled in GT5 , just wondering if it's difficult to adjust .

Thanks.

Its slightly more awkward as its on the shifter unit so you have to move your hand away from the wheel. The G25 can be used with one hand though, so it's not a big deal.

Moving to the Steering wheels forum too.

If the OP is not in a hurry, it may pay to wait and see what change to the G25 will be made, to make it more PS3 compliant (it currently has no PS button nor is it wireless).

It will be interesting to see what Logitech actually does to it.
At the moment, I'm only expecting changes to the shifter unit.

Cheers,

MasterGT

Hi Master GT,already ordered. I saw some of your posts(Maybe on a different forum) yesterday while doing some final research on the g25 . I took what you were saying into careful consideration before ordering.

Thanks

Mine has arrived today but I think it's broke . I keep getting flashing lights on the gear hub and the wheel does not work. Sometimes it works but it just random .

Check and make sure all the plugs under the wheel have a good connection. Also make sure your wheel is plugged into port #1 or #3, try without the hand controller turned on. You can also hook it up to your PC to check all the buttons.

Thanks but I've tried everything and nothing is consistent . It tries to calibrate by going all the way to the right and then all the way to the left but most the time doesn't centre. The 2 times it has centres it's been way off centre if your with me. The wheel doesn't work in the hardware test on the pc but all the buttons do.

After speaking to logitech I was told to return to retailers (scan.co) but I'm now looking at 7 to 10 days until I get another. :grumpy: lol.

I'm really interested in getting the logitech G25 though I've never owned a wheel before which is why im sort of doubtful if its actually worth the $$.

Can someone please tell me if a wheel actually helps improve the persons driving or is it actually harder to use then a controller?
I've only played Project gotham on the xbox360 with a wheel and I found it to be very difficult to play with. I'm a big fan of racing games and want to make GT5 and the upcoming racing titles on the ps3 a more enjoyable experience for myself.

I understand that a new players using the wheel will need some getting used to, but lets say there are two good players one playing with the ps3 controller and the other with the G25, which player would have a more advantage?

Lastly has anyone tried playing the GRID demo on the ps3 with the G25, how does it work on that game?

The 360 wheel does not compare to the g25. It does though as you say have a learning curve, but after using it for a few days you will never be able to enjoy controller racing again.

I tried the grid demo with it, and it was very hard to drive using the 900 degree setting. You really have to turn the wheel like no other game I have played with it. But if you practiced enough it would be fun. One thing I did notice is that you seem to really be able to feel the cars suspension with the wheel in grid. I've never played a racing game that it actually felt like you were landing after a jump like grid. You almost feel like your going to tear up your car by going over bumps or getting to much air.

As for who would have the advantage between wheel and controller guy. I would like to say wheel guy, but really I think the wheel supplies a better racing experience more than better lap times.
