To much cheating

I decided to race the top guy on topgear rivals in the kia and the amount of cheating going on during the lap is shocking, at one point he/she even cuts out most of the track with no penalty. If your tire totally crosses the white line it should void the lap but it doesn't and there are to many places on all tracks where this can be done. I am not saying I would have been faster than him/her but I don't think its a level playing field when certain players are exploiting bad penalty designs by turn 10. Its like a contest to see who can find the most short cuts rather then who is the actual fastest driver. In time trials there should be a more stringent penalty system in place. What are your thoughts on this?.

A good example of this is Benchmark Test Track A-R. You can hug the inside barriers without any penalty and it is off the main track by tens of yards. This track was like this in FM3 so not sure if was overlooked, meant to be this way or never brought to their attention.

Everyone can do what the guy is doing, therefore it is fair.
I don't agree with it either but what can you do?
As for crossing the white line, I thought as long as 2 tires were on the track, it was not cheating?

I had a look at Daveyskills lap for IGN and he kinda butchered the follow through, LOL.
