Hi,

I followed your settings and the skyline is really fast, my question is, what is your best lap time at Tokyo Route 246, I'm only using Turbo Stage 2 and my hp is 582, can you try that and tell me what's your best time. Thanks.

hey guys

I wasn't happy with most of the drift settings i found online, so i sat down with my skyline and after several hours came up with these settings. I haven't tried them from scratch but i can tell u what they are currently.

if you think 4wd drifting isn't for pros, think again.

this car will let u slide as much as you want, but if u mess up a drift it still has the front wheels driving traction to grip you out of a bad spell.

firstly buy the best r34 skyline from the nissan shop and get everything there is to be bought, all the good stuff, stage 4 turbo, triple clutch, fully customized gears, weight reduction all of it.

get some tyres too, i'd recommend getting all the racing ones, since they tend to dictacte how much ur car drifts, the more slippery ur tyres are on the back, the quicker ur car will start to lose grip, common sense yeah maybe.

make sure you change the oil and wash it, then take it to laguna seca and go to settings:

F/R

spring rate 9.0/20.0
height 94/94
bound 1/1
rebound 1/1
camber 0/0
toe 2.0/0
stabilizer 2/2

brakes 24/11 - this isn't all that important
lsd (leave as default i.e.)
10/10
40/40
20/20

gears (forget fiddling with the gears, set auto to 30 and leave it at that, it really doesnt affect drifting)

downforce 0.29/0.35 - important! (as little downforce as possible on the back)

ASM 0
TCS 1 - yes tcs can be 1, even when u drift, setting it to 1 avoids unnecessary spin when ur parked in the sand and trying to get back on the track

vcd 15% (this is important, varying this will severly alter the characteristics of the drift, i suggest 15%)

front tyres - super soft (i think thats T8)
rear tyres - medium soft (T6 i think)

both front and rear can be on medium soft or both on super soft. they will each give different drifts.

i don't e-brake drift, i brake before a corner and then use the throttle steering to guide me through a drift, this setup works better than any other for me. if u want to show off u can drift for as long as you want on any corner, if u need speed this setup will also allow that. i beat my best grip time in this car on laguna seca. i managed to get 1:15:500 or thereabouts for a lap of that track.

if you are a beginner choose super softs front and back and floor it when exiting the corners, the back will slide out, to bring it back in just countersteer and release the throttle. it should be very easy to control.

if u want to slide more, put less grippy tyres on the back.

in my opinion this car feels a lot like the skyline you get when u select 'drift' in arcade mode. but since it has over 1000 horse power, you dont have to wait for ages on the straights, since the car arrives at corners much faster!

feedback very much appreciated!

cya, and good luck!

Good work. But most of the drifters here don't pay attention to lap times while we are having a drift session. We just enjoy going sideways in the corners, that's all (at least for me). :)

me too:D :D

well, the settings you listed are beginner settings. generally a higher hp car with sticky tires is far easier to control than a low hp sim tire car. and you mention that 4wd gets you out of bad situations, exactly why beginners prefer 4wd. i dont recommend maxing out any car at all..its far too unrealistic and far to easy to drift.

as for lap times, that isn't what drift is about. if you're drifting to try to get lap times..you shouldn't be drifting.
