Today's daily races...

Is the selection normally this bad? Three one-makes in one day, with one of them being the exact same race as I played 6 days ago (Golfs around Kyoto). I have only played the game on three different days and today's selection was really disappointing. I want to race in racing cars, i.e. LMP1 and GT3 cars, not production Mitsubishis and VWs. I don't know if it's just me but as a Formula 1 fan above all, I find production cars with sports tyres not very fun to drive.

Usually used to be an one make, a gr.4 and a gr.3 race. Last days is changing a bit. One day we had 2 gr.3 races, sometimes gr.4 get an endurance race, with tire wear instead of gr.3.
Gr.1 or Gr.X races, we never had in Sport Mode.

I really don't like those city tracks. It's an SR killer. There's no run off areas and people drive like their lifes depending on it...
I think I'll avoid city tracks from now on.

if you are only interested in in race c for example you can do 1 per hour.......

I was actually hoping for an online system like Driveclub. A new race every 5 minutes. Although that wouldn't work on the long run, as player numbers decline. In Driveclub only the free PS+ tracks are currently populated.

As for the daily races. I guess PD is trying to get/force people to actually buy cars they don't own yet.

Depends on who you're matched with. What I'm finding is even in SR S is that people have no problem ramming you from behind and using you as a cornering aid but aren't quick enough if you decide to let them past and get on with it. Few times I let idiots get past only to catch them up again after a couple of corners. Now if I could trust them not to spear me into the next wall, then it's a good track to have some close battles as the slipstreaming really comes into play, but I know if I slipstream past, then they'll have me off again.

I only had two goes at the B race and had similar results, both times, gaining 2-3 places as the idiots racked up penalties.

The Golf race was the same. The first attempt I won (only my second online win so far!) as I'd qualified 3rd and had a good battle with 2nd (The pole sitter must have fluked his lap as his race pace was massively down and he was dirty as hell and ended up finishing last due to spins and incidents). My second and third attempts were less sucessful. Race 2 staring 4th I failed to scrub enough speed on the long right hander after the esses and ran off onto the grasss dropping down to 9th, I then got stuck in a sandwich of idiots who bombed the slower corners and scrubbed speed on the faster turns. The third race was similar, by now in the evening people had pulled a few more seconds out of their laps and I was now 6th, again bumper cars into the two chicanes and not wanting to lose any more SR I cruised it home.

Sport Mode is rapidly becoming a qualifying only affair. If you don't qualify in the top 5 then you're not able to get away from the idiots (or as I found the other night on Dragon Tail even 4th doesn't stop you being rammed on the first corner and given a 10sec penalty which rapidly became 30secs by the next couple of corners).

Thats fine but why 3 races? For a game that want you to race online there is little to race. It was gine one but then they changend it!

No idea how many people racing. PD insists in dividing players by region, also needs to partner them as most evenly as possible in terms of SR and DR. May it's afraid in certain hours, some races wouldn't have players. With just three races, happened to me (DR D, SR B, at the time) being put to race with drivers from DR A - SR B to DR D - SR C, it was at Alsace, which isn't a very popular venue to online racing, so I could guess not many people lobbying for the race.
Of course the A/B player pulled away like a rocket, some of the D/B and D/C had no idea of racing lines or braking points, some 5 seconds slower than the guys just ahead of them, thought they could make their race in the first corners, bump festival.

Jeez too much moaning.

Well yesterday's races were truly awful, one make, reverse tracks and punt fest Tokyo.:yuck:

At least today there is a Gr.4 race at Brands Hatch which can be good if you can avoid the punters in their Meganes, that car is too fast in a straight line and then they use you as a brake to help them corner or if they get past they just block you through the slower sections. At Bathurst that Megane will be unstoppable, it's that much faster than most other cars. Still only one race an hour too when you could easily have two.

I quite enjoyed the GTR race yesterday - once I got the hang of driving it :D The differences in quali times were hilarious, had it been 10 laps I probably could've lapped someone

Today's Gr.4 is the only one to tempt me, but as @ASH32 says, it comes with risk! Maybe I'll stick with the Huracan for stability under fire, rather than my nimble 458.

A Gr.4 race is good enough but one good race per day isn't. Is there a Gr.1 or Gr.3 race today? And I can't believe if it's true that there haven't been any Gr.1 daily races at all. Why put the most incredible racing machines in the game if you're not going to encourage people to use them? Surely they would be the most fun races.

Those pesky Megane punters have to deal with a severe lack of cornering ability from the shopping trolley, which kind of balances out the power advantage ;)

3 dailies isn't enough, didn't there used to be like 5-6 in beta? A variety of different classes would be nice, yesterday was weird as it was one make across the board even in the FIA races.

That is true over 1 lap pace like qualifying but if a quick driver is using one in the race it's near impossible to get past, even if you are in it's slipstream it pulls away on the straights, you then can close right up again only for it to pull away again.

It needs balancing but as you said you can't just reduce it's power because it would be unusable then.

I'm just sick of the same tracks over and over again 180 races and seems like it's been on the same 5 tracks lol i'd be happy with 2 laps of Nurburgring oh and Sport mode should be non contact that would sort a lot of problems out
