Today's Special Rims

I have looked all over for a thread and I just couldn't find what I was looking for so I decided to make one. Please excuse me if there already is a thread on this topic.

I recently just tried to get Nismo rims for my 350Z in Gran Turismo(I happen to own one in real life, too:)) So I did an an experiment. I bought a Nismo 350Z Z-Tune and bought BBS rims for it(to try to get its rims). Sure enough, it's original Nismo rims appeared in Today's Specials. I bought them and now I have black Nismo rims on my Redline 350Z. I tried it again so I could get bronze rims from a Nismo Skyline for my other 350Z. It failed and I lost good rims. Is there any pattern for the Today's Special rotations? I'd hate to lose any other rims.

Thanks,

Sounds like you got lucky the first time.

the rims cycle through like used cars. however, unlike the used cas, the rims change every day, instead of every ten.

Your best bet is to go there every day in the game. Eventually, the rims you want will pop up. if you have the cash, and are willing to blow it, you can just buy rims until the ones you want pop up, since days change when you buy rims. I don't reccommend this unless you use cheats, but I got Mopar Rally Wheels for my Jensen Interceptor that way

EDIT: aaaaand the other guys got to threads...geez. make me feel stupid, why don't ya?

It's every 7 days for used cars, aka every week. Just thought I'd clear that up to avoid confusion.

Yer, this can become quite annoying for a lot of people at some stage during the game, such as when I tried to purchase some good old chrome (CH) for my Crossfire....

Oh yeah, and I was wondering. In the Today's Special I noticed the Nismo rims had the letters NIO-then a number. Does anyone know or have a list of what each set of letters means? I've seen NIO, MIO, and lots of others. Do these really have a relation to the rims? Like maybe NIO stands for Nissan Optional or something...I'm just wondering.

I think there's a 2-letter code for the Manufacturer. I think the "O" is a zero.

HO = Honda
NI = Nissan
FO = Ford
PD = Polyphony Digital (the "LM editions" and other PD-created flights of fancy)
et cetera...

Some of the Today's Special wheels look great on other cars. Pity you can't put them on some racing cars.

Yeah, it is a pity. However, some racing cars come with decent rims. I don't know, but I think the Mazda 787B has some pretty cool rims:)

Yer, it's quite funny how you can buy the Takata-NSX rims, being completely GREEN! as they are, try sticking these on a car and make em' look good...👍

And yes; that is a challenge to anybody out there: throw on some Original rims from the Takata-NSX (They're under 'HO' not 'TA') and apply them to a car, and if you think it makes it looks even better post it here!

This may be possible on a 'green' car but hmmm... Good luck!👍
