"24th of July, 2012."
I'm guessing that this is actually supposed to be a different date.
I also accidentally made my challenge due on the day.

And I'm going to look for a JGTC right now. :D

Uh, terrible mistake :( . I don't know how have I managed to forgot the current date but it's certainly not good for me to be lost in time. (Post updated, deadline is on the 31th of July, 2012)

lol, I did the exact same thing in my race.

I am going to enter with the Nissan Motul Pitwork Z (JGTC) ('04).

Are cars exclusive?

I was going to take this as well as I have two of them and not used them in this game save.
Nissan Motul Pitwork Z (JGTC) ('04)

If they are exclusive then I'm going to drive my old car.
Toyota WOODONE Tom's Supra (JGTC) ('03)

Lol even that's wrong, I think you mean 31st of July, 2012.

PS I'll compete, I just have to see which JGTC cars I have floating around in my garage.

I guess I take this a bit more seriously than every one else.

I went to arcade mode and tested every JGTC car available to me, I even bought the 2003 GT-R just to see what it could do. (Although now I'm worried because I tested the Takata NSX, but not the Raybrig/Arta/Castrol ones. :nervous:)

I had some free time so I've already run the race. The car was somewhat tricky to handle, and I had to change my driving style to suit it. I had more wall brushes than I would have liked, a few AI incidents, and a 10 second spinout. So overall not bad. I don't know which JGTC car I like better, the Mobil 1 NSX or the AuCerumo Supra, they were both fun to drive. And I clocked my best lap while this song was playing.

You don't have to buy them all to see which is quickest, (though I'm sure ultimately its the only way to see which cars suit your style the most). Be lazy like me, let the forum tell you which is fastest.

Not really so, you can take Pitwork if you like it.

I also use Famine's car list to see their performance although I always find myself driving the most beautiful of them in addition to the coolest engine sound.
I'm really gonna try to reach the top-three this time. During BH-21's JGTC seasons, Raybrig was also tested on R246 circuit but I couldn't find time to correct small tuning mistakes that came from adapting the car to different circuits. Hopefully, I will overcome this problem.

By the way, the deadline should be correct now. :sly:

That is a very impressive list.
But I needed to test out which one was best on both hard and superhard tires.
(Quite a big difference between a few of them, some cars only lost a second, whilst others lost 2 seconds.)
Also, you can see that with the Arta/Casrtol/Raybrig, the times can vary by almost a second, even though they are they same car. I would've needed more consistency with my times, and 10 miles isin't enough to fully exploit a car.

Edit: Done the race, that was more fun than I thought an hour and a half race was going to be.
I still lost about a second a lap at the end due to concentration difficulties though. :ouch:
I'm still satisfied with the time though, I'll do a full race report after the deadline.

Results declared, check post 1 for further details.

Congratulations to Bopop4 for his marvelous time!!

We didn't had any close combats though, the closest gap was around half minute between two drivers. Well, It was a very fun and interesting race :).

Wow, I actually won a big race. :)
The start of the race was pretty good, after a bit of testing, I had found that a pit stop adds 33 seconds to your total time, and that I could go 17 laps on super hard tires.
I could go 10-11 laps on hard tires, and with 2 seconds separating to two compounds, it was logical to do 5 stops on hards then to do 2 stops for super hards, and then the final 9 laps on hards.
(Extra 2 stops = 66 seconds, extra speed from 2 seconds a lap for 51 laps = 102 seconds.)

As I ran the race, I found that I could make the tires last till lap 12, which would reduce my pit stop number to 4, saving another 30 seconds.

I also knew about how much fuel I burnt off in each lap, so when I came in to stop, I would only have 8-10 points of fuel in the car, (to be on the safe side.) and I would only have to fill up to the 45 mark, which saved time in the pits, and on track.

My best lap was a 1'28.962, but in the last 15-20 laps I started to lose concentration and thus lost about .5-1 second a lap.

I think I only did 1 half spin, and Ai contact was minimal, apart from when they turn into you. I did have a problem with turns 7 and 8, it would seem that once every 2-3 laps I would nick the outside wall, which is sad because I lost a few tenths each time there because of that.

Overall I think that I ran a good race, thanks to Matej for organizing the event, and my fellow competitors for pushing me.

Last, Oh well someone has to bring up the rear.
I tuned the car so the tyre wear was fairly even (less rear down force) on R1's then did the race, where I found the R1's easily lasted for 15 laps. - best lap 1:34.888.
The results say I should have at least tried the other tyres, but when I was practicing, the R1's didn't feel slow (which they normally do), and turn 6 required only a very light lift, which I find is a good indicator of whether a car has too much or to little grip.

Congrats to Bopop4 for taking out the race, and to everyone else for beating me, and a round of applause to Matej for hosting, I think I might do a bit more research if there's another round.

In the works right about....now.
And you had to lift for T6?
It was flat for me every lap, with Hards.

1. Cool
2. Well if it was a 1 lap time trial, I would have made it flat out, but over a race distance on R1's (Super Hards); a small lift = safety margin. And hitting that outside wall when the tyres are under load = spin.
Basically Bopop4 + Pitwork Z + R2's = average 5.1 seconds (per lap) quicker than Shotamagee + Pennzoil Nismo + R1's; so there's gonna be some noticeable difference's somewhere throughout the lap.

Lol yeah, I found that I also had to lift at T6 when I was testing some of the slower cars.
(Although an NSX should be flat through there.)

Guess it's time for my report:

Best lap was 1'33.838.
Pit stop performed every 12 laps, Racing Hard tires used on both front and rear sides (after dealing with a setups I have managed to accomplish equal tire wear; that could be my greatest achievement for this event).

I also had very small, microscopic size AI contacts that are not worth mentioning except only one of them. It occured near half of the race at T3 corner, I tried to overtake AU Cerumo Supra from outside line but I wasn't fast enough so she compressed into me during corner exit, I probably lost half of the second there :ouch:.
I also had a very terrible spin after trying to overtake Xanavi Nismo at corner T6. They always slow down at that point, so in order to avoid collision I had to brake and steer quite hard; this movement proved to be bad for NSX health. I lost exactly 8 seconds there (my car totally stopped during spinning process) :grumpy:.
Apart from this I had a very clean race and refueling process was also executed perfectly (single box left almost gone on the indicator before pitting in).

T9 corner is very difficult, somehow I can't cut there like I should so I went for a safety side - brake on a straightway and enter with a 80% of corner's possibility. Each time I lost about 0.100 seconds but it's worth it.

T2 corner was a problem only in early days of NSX preparation; in order to gently pass those curbs I had to soften stabilizers (rear was one click softer), I think I was faster at least 0.200 seconds per lap there 👍.

Corner T6 was not a problem but only if braking and hard steering were avoided. I wanted to pass it with a full speed, so downforce was raised a little bit.

Corner T4 was interesting too. The best job can be done if you brake during corner entry and clear the corner with a full throttle. Second action was not a problem apart from the first one since braking during cornering works only with blue and orange tires but with green ones it creates oversteer :ill:. Since that's the only place where such a foolish thing can happen the best thing to do was to brake on a straightway and took outside line. It's a safety margin but time loss is not notable.

Well, it was a very fun event, I learned a lot about downforce affects on tires. It really feels great to have equal tire wear on a car like NSX. Nice !! :)

Thank you guys for participating, there is nothing better than a fresh, fast competition to deal with. 👍
