I'm sure everyone at some point has played a Tony Hawk game. The original Pro Skater series on PS1 were probably my favourite, closely followed by the Underground series.

They're remaking the first series into HD, if it's as fun as the originals then it's a definite buy for me. One bad thing I heard though, they wont/can't use the old soundtrack :grumpy:

I was a huge Tony Hawk fiend in the PS1 days... as well as Cool Boarders. Too bad about the soundtrack, that will be a lot less memory revoking.

I'll definately get this IF they don't screw around with the gameplay. Sadly that's a pretty big if.

And yeah that does suck about the soundtrack, if it were my game and I couldn't get the original tracks I would just leave it without music and give the player a message along the lines of "No music today is worthy, so feel free to load up all your favorite songs and listen to them as you play." I'm sure they'll just fill it with a bunch of rap though.

Looks like they ruined the halfpipe in the warehouse, they just had to didn't they.

Also, that track was probably my favorite, it's a disgrace the real soundtrack won't be delivered.
Activision were in their golden era back then.

It doesn't look so much a HD port as more of a complete redoing of the original game, similar to Goldeneye Reloaded. I guess they can't use the original soundtrack because of licence issues and also some of those bands not even exsisting anymore!

If they did a 1,2 and 3 package together (retail) with maybe some online co op I would probably buy it. After 3 the series kind of took a nosedive IMO (american wasteland was OK).

Robin.

What makes you say they ruined the halfpipe? The warehouse layout looks like everything is in the same place to me.

Oh and yeah, Superman. We played it at my 8th grade graduation. I would argue it as being one of the greatest songs of all time.

I personally am going to LOVE playing this game, original soundtrack or not, I just really hope create a skater is in the game.

If they bring back everything from Pro Skater 3 and 4, this will be a must buy for me. It's really making me want to break out the PS2, grind some power lines, and skitch a tractor trailer .

Same thing for me

Did anyone play 2 & 3 on Gameboy Advance? They were really awesome and cleverly ported using isometric environments and 3D skaters. I was playing them for hours!

THSP2 was my favourite game of ps1.
mega pissed about the soundtrack, i downloaded THPS2 for my iphone and it had a shi* soundtrack!
i wanted the classic songs :(

I got Pro Skater 3 for the park building.... nothing else. I didn't care about learning tricks or whatever else was available.

- HD Upgrade: Game was rebuilt and polished by Robomodo using Neversoft's original code.
- Classic levels: The style and feel of the best 7 levels from THPS and THPS2 refreshed for today. Tony Hawk himself put a call out to his fans on Twitter during the summer of 2011 to decide the final levels.
- Confirmed Levels So Far: Warehouse, School 2, Phoenix, Hangar, Marseilles and Venice.
- The Top Pros: Today's biggest skate pros round out the cast including: Nyjah Huston, Chris Cole, Eric Koston, Andrew Reynolds, Rodney Mullen, Lyn-z Adams Hawkins (Pastrana), Riley Hawk and, of course, Tony Hawk himself.
- Refined controls: The skaters' animations, tricks and combos reflect the evolution of the THPS games. For example, you can do manuals in levels from the first THPS, a trick that didn't enter the franchise until THPS2.
- Endlessly fun objectives: Players pursue the same global and level-specific goals as the original games, including S-K-A-T-E, Secret DVD (used to be VHS tape!), and many more.
- Details on soundtrack and online modes will be announced soon.

I don't see why if they don't just put in all the levels from 1,2&3 and give it a proper 'HD classics' retail boxed release seeing as they are going to all this trouble.

Anyone get this yet? I was a diehard TH fan from the first game up until Project 8... even though I didn't really care for anything after the first Underground. I remember with the original Pro Skater I could beat the Hangar level in a single run. I'm hoping this game 'skates' well. I pop in Skate [1] every now and then, but while the gameplay is great, most of the world is so boring to skate in.

Well it is fun for a very little while. It plays good, but for some reason it just doens't excite me as it did before.

The fact they didn't add a two player splitscreen in it kind of ruined it for me. Framerate stutters too sometimes.

I bought this when it came out and had a lot of fun with it. They recreated the levels nicely and included a pretty good soundtrack. For some reason the skating felt a little bit off at times, but I hadn't played any TH games in a long, long, time. Lack of split screen kind of sucked but a buddy and I just passed the controller back and forth as we played through the main game. If you enjoyed the originals I don't think you'll have any problem getting your money's worth out of this.

Edit: Dunno if they ever added any DLC levels or not, but the game may have gotten better since I last played it.
