The first thing I noticed when I picked up the game was the look was alot more cartooney, unlike THUG 1. But it works for the comical feel of the game. This game is VERY funny at times. I laughed and laughed when the game introduced Pauly "wheels Of Fury". There are many special characters in the game including Jesse James, Bigfoot, Shrek, and even Bam's Dad, Phil Margera. There are many other characters, but there are too many to be listed. The game can be VERY long if you want it to. There is a story mode, and a Classic mode that is like Thps 1-3. The soundtrack is a bit of a step down except for a few songs. Jimmy Eat World, Johnny Cash, Frank Sinatra, The Explosion, Three Inches Of Blood, and Ministry are just a few of the bands on the game. And Also, most Important band of All, METALLICA!!I have only seen Metallica Songs in two games, An offroad game, and now this game. And this game they couldn't have picked a better Metallica song, Whiplash off of Kill 'em All. There is even a trailer for Some Kind Of Monster. but anyway, On to the gameplay.

the gameplay has all the elements from THUG 1 and then some. for example the Natas Spin. you can jump up on fire hydrants and spin around for a long time. the levels are awesome, my favorite would have to be Skateopia. I wont reveal the level you earn after you beat story mode, but I will say it is VERY weird.

All in All the game has so much stuff it is hard to review it without a very long post, but if you liked THUG, you will like THUG2 even more. I give it:

graphics: 9:tup:/10:tup
gameplay: 10:tup:/10:tup:
Fun: 10:tup:/10:tup:
origionality:10:tup:/10:tup:
overall: 10/10

i like the game. it's cool, but for the second time it froze when i tried to save my game. making the data corrupt. i had everything beat except getting all the gaps. i don't think i'm willing to beat it all for a third time.

stupid game.

You're not the only one! I just came here to report exactly the same thing. I just unlocked New Orleans and then ... I thought it was a pretty good game, but now I probably won't play it for months, or until I know the cheats to unlock all the levels etc. I don't have time to go through all the again.

Really stupid game!!!

i hated it in the beginning, but once i started unlocking stuff it kinda got a bit interesting, it was the classic mode that kept me playing, i dont like the combo goals tho. the pro skater, triangle and the old levels are great

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one.

Seriously, do not buy this game if you're a fan of the previous Tony Hawk games, you'll want to puke when you pick up your controller. I've played every single Tony Hawk game since the series came out years ago, and when I say I played them, I played them to death. I can say that after playing THUG2, I'm done with the series. Too many sequels have just destroyed this classic series. This game tries way too hard to cater to the 14 year old "Punk'd/extreme sports" crowd.

It seems that with every sequel that they run out of actual content to put into the game, so they focus less on the actual skateboarding and more on the MTV/Jackass/Punkd crap for commercialization. The other problem is when Tony Hawk games try to do things other than skateboarding, the results are almost always horrendous. I don't understand why they can't just keep it as a skateboarding game, and nothing else. It's sad, because the Tony Hawk series has always been one of my favorites to play, I spent countless hours mastering each sequel as they came out, but after renting this one, I just couldn't stand it. This series seemed to peak at Tony Hawk 3. THPS4 and Underground were fun, but as each came out, the focus became less and less about the skateboarding.

I'll give it a 3/10, but those 3 points are only given for the classic mode.

I don't know about anybody else, but this series just lost one fan with this **** factory of a game, it makes me absolutely sick.

Way to ruin a great series, Neversoft. 👍

Yeah, I agree with Max Powers. I've played every Tony Hawk game except for the first. When THUG came out and introduced us to getting off your board and the story mode and all I thought it was great, but THUG2 seems to focus too much on bad comedy based on Jackass - which indeed CAN be pretty fun from time to time - and less on the skating. Yes, I admit that Jackass can be funny sometimes, but not in a skateboard game with Tony Hawk's name on it.

They could either have named it Bam Margera's Undergound (2) or just remove all the boring "comedy" in it and make a good skateboarding game out of it
