I might try again soon with the Beetle and change up my driving line a little to try to get closer 1:18.000

I did get an '02 WRX STI and might try to get top 5 in 4WD.

Also, upon sorting all cars on mygranturismo.net by price, the only two race cars are the Beetle and the Nissan mm-R Cup Car '01. The best car other than Evos/STIs and that is FR looks to be the Chevy Camaro SS '00. I have one in my garage, but as the rules go, I have to buy another from the UCD. I'd really like to use it. mygt has an average price for the car of 20,629. I am 100% sure that I have not driven the car and have not done any upgrades. How do you all feel about me using that car and basing the price off of the 20,629?

Have you noticed you can install Racing Air filter on your New Beetle cup car for 450 cr (should fit in your budget) :D
By the way , how many km/miles have you on the odometer on that beetle?

I have been using my beetle from garage with a bit under 5000km on the clock.
But as I don't have the exact prize availeble I haven't bought any upgrades , not even changed the oil.
Just changed the suspension , brake and downforce settings. (202 BHP /420PP)

Cheapest Camaros from UCD (wrote the prizes down along with mileage and colour for budget car challenges like this)

Chevrolet Camaro SS '00 59873km Bright Rally Red 15,519
Chevrolet Camaro Z28 Coupe '97 86187km Cayenne Red Metallic 13,720 Cr.

The reason I haven't posted full cost for previously mentioned cars is that the New Beetle cup car and
that the lancer runs are still unfinished. (going for a 1'17.5 in the lancer)

I have been seraching for the UCD databases for the car mileages and prizes to get cars from my garage in use.

I'm doing my laps with only ABS , that is the only driving aid for me. So , no SRF.

My list of cars for 25,000 Cr budget challenge.
I thought I'd share it with you all.

Wow can you really get silvia spec-R '99s in the 13-14k range.. paid 20,269 (I thin) for my current one and that landed me and overall nr.4 and a fr lead... Gotta get refreshin' on that UCD yo

Yep , the one with 57705km comes with 231 stock BHP. (no oil change)
And the one with 65002km on the clock comes with similar (231) BHP figures (even thought it has a little less power (about 0.5 BHP less)

So , getting the 65002km one is a good trade , 0.5 BHP less , but 756 Cr more to spend on tuning parts.

I reached my goal time I set for the Lancer:

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII RS '01 1'17.456

catalyst converter 500
racing air filter 450
sports ecu 1,000

oil change 250
sports flywheel 650

total 24,764 Cr

specs: 357 BHP 1320Kg , 492PP

DF 0/5
ABS3 brakes 2/10

Sports Hard tyres (stock)

Here is the lap:

Well…we can't argue with that…he wasn't cheating after all. Damn I wish I bought that car, it just popped up yesterday and since the UCD reset, I havent seen another one yet…

Stay tuned for today, have spent 2hours refreshing my ucd and got myself a cheap evo and silvia, the evo is a VI T.M '00 the silvia a spec-R '99.

Btw my fast ff car was a dud, it's the mm-R cup car and capable of 1:20's

Keep racing yo! :-D

Edit: ps. I know refreshing the ucd that much is insane and makes me a serious nugget

Oh dear…the leaderboard is going to get a thrashing…again. Still, good luck with it, hopefully you'd get 1st with both of them.

Subaru Legacy B4 RSK '98 17,060 Cr
Oil Change: 250
Sports ECU: 1,000
Racing Air Filter: 450
Catalyst Converter: Sports 500
Low RPM Turbo Kit: 4,500

All in All 24410 Cr.

Let's see how i compete with you guys:

...And a 1:25.172

Could have done much better with less weight. It turns like a boat... :|

I too tried the mm-R cup car and got to 1'19s , then with SRF in 1'18s.
And after that I tried the New Beetle Cup Car , 1'18s in 10 minutes.

Good luck with the Silvia and Lancer AndyKosch.

Supra RZ '97
Cost 24260
+ 300 Oil/wash
= 24,560

Time: 1:21.991

The car was a blast stock, I cant believe how stable it is. In better hands it could have probably beaten the 1:20 mark.

Volkswagen New Beetle Cup Car '00: 24,218 CR

Oil Change: 250 CR
Wash: 50 CR

Total Expense: 24,518 CR

Time: 1:17.930

With some suspension tweaking I'm sure there are a few more tenths to be had, but I'm out of patience for tonight so I'm sticking with this as entry #2. What I really need to do is get my line down going through Bacharach and into Gambon; that's where I'm really inconsistent. I really think that with a better driver there's a strong chance that this car could break into the 1:16's, but it's not going to be with me I fear.

I'm a little late to the party, but this was fun. I'll be trying to find a couple more UCD gems.

Skyline GTS-t Type M (R32) '89 - 97,588km (RWD)
$12,358
$250 - oil
$450 Racing Air Filter
$1000 ECU
$2500 Stage 1 Engine
$8000 Sports Soft Tires

$24,558 - Total
242 HP, 425 PP

1:20.464 sec

BTW, the magic was in the tires. I had originally tuned for max HP with comfort soft, but the best I could manage was 1:24.3xx despite 279 hp and 447 pp. Bought the SS tires and pulled off a stage 1 turbo, fly wheel, sports cat, and sports exhaust to stay on budget.

Found another high-miles car that was worthy.

Skyline GT-R(R-32)'89 - 99,852 km (4WD)
$22,283
$1,000 ECU
$500 cat
$450 Racing filter
$250 Oil Change

$24,483 - Total
332 HP, 465 pp

1:19.206 (It helped that it came stock with sports hard tires)

Only a GSR, not the RS, but my best time yet, nonetheless.

Lancer Evolution VI GSR T.M. '00 - 54,885km (4WD)
$23,784
$250 oil
$450 Racing air filter
$500 Sports cat

$24,984 - Total
328 HP, 474 pp

1:18.552 sec
(no, I couldn't shave that last 0.004 sec to overtake Onboy)

Volkswagen New Beetle Cup Car '00: 24,218 CR

Thats the turn i need to prefect as well. There are so many different lines in there that its hard to hit the same one every time. What was the suspension tuning you used?

Oh, I nearly forget, HotRodKing, you found a Camaro yet? And I just pick one up for 15,565cr!!! Soo cheap!! And already, the FR leaderboard has been crushed by it, so good luck trying to beat its time, which I'll post later.

Laptime: 1:18.204
Cost list-
car-15,565

yeah ive been busy with school. I haven't even looked much for the car. School ends in two weeks so we have lots of work to get done before finals. Once im done with school I will have so much more time to play GT. :indiff:

Been alot of development on here lately...seems like everyone is on the hunt for the Beetle Cup Car lol.
I have a lil something for RWD...was trying to push for the top but I don't know whether i'l beat the lead time now set by Onboy!!

Edit: looking at your breakdown Onboy your over budget and therefore the time is not valid!

Really? I must have done something wrong with the calculation cuz it said I had 750ish left.

Edit: yes, the calculations were wrong and I've overshot the budget by miles, I apologise for that and will be having another go at it later

Sorry Onboy...good time non the less but I like it to be fair :P
Looks like I can aim for the top as I'm close but I'm off to the gym first so hopefully knock a time in before this evening

Damn guys, I'm over my head with work and meeyings but by 24h from now I should have my times in.. which will be nice since this.time around i got 6.5k more to spend per car on my current top times :-D

Good racing guys

Had a go just now.
Mitsubishi Evo VI GSR '99
car - 23,862
oil - 250
sports air filter - 250
sports intake manifold - 500
total - 24,862
time- 1.19.494
I did 18.4 but that was black flagged, a very questionable decision if I may say so, then I just couldn't get turn 1 the same as before

240 SX '96 - 90,275 km (RWD)
$13,705
$250 - oil
$500 - cat
$450 - racing air filter
$8,000 - Sports Soft Tires
$650 - Sports Fly Wheel

1:21.017

I tried downgrading my tires to Sports hard and adding a susp or HP but once again, the tires were the differnce-maker.

I have a new-comer to the FWD board!

FTO GP Version R '97 - 80,040 km - (FWD)
$12,956
$250 oil
$8,000 sports soft tires
$500 cat
$450 racing filter
$1,000 ECU
$1,500 Sports Exhaust

$24,656 - Total

Edit - Lap time = 1:19.495
(I've almost forgotten the lap time two other times. You would think that might be important info to include)

I tried swapping out my sports exhaust for a semi-racing flywheel, but my average laptimes stayed about the same. I've never messed around with brake balance this much. I must say, the FTO is a solid ride on SS tires. I tried a prelude and civic type R before I found the FTO and neither was post-worthy

Only adjustment so far was 2.5 degrees of camber all around. I ought to take some of that out of the back, lower the front a bit, and soften the front springs a little because right now the car's anything but neutral and really wants to understeer on corner entry.

The issue with Bacharach is just that there are so few visual markers that it's really a bear to hit the clipping point. I've got a nasty habit of entering Hammerhead too hot, but at least there I know what I'm doing wrong.

1.25.267
98 miata
Sport soft tires
Ecu

Cat

400cr in the bank

No aids other than abs 1
Pretty good time for sub 170hp car
