Soon...
I'd like to make a tuning garage but i'm not so good with Tuning the Suspension, transmission, and Downforce. If anyone would like to join this garage just post in this forum. I will post a tune sometime next week.

How much do you pay? Hourly? Flat rate? Salary? What are the hours? Benefits?

i'm kidding....

Remember that you will need high-quality tuners for this job, it is not as easy as it may seem by looking at the other garages. You better come up with some amazing cars, and not just Type-R's  But hey, I'm always there to support you. I won't promise to be a full-time tuner, but I will be there once in a while to help you ;)

EDIT: Holy cow, man! I just realized that you can't tune what is basically there to tune! I can't help but laugh.

Cats, let me give you some advice:

A guide for having a successful tuner garage with multiple owners.

First, read the tuner manuals in this forum. They are great material to get you started and help you very much with understanding the many adjustable parts of GT4. Now you should at least know what you're talking about. ;) Further on, tune the hell out of many cars, enter tuner competitions and ask fellow tuners for advice!

Second, look for other guys who are willing to tune with you. Ask them to PM you if they are willing. Make sure they have read the manuals as well. ;)

Third and lastly: Start a separate forum were you can discuss many things that need to be done before you can do a decent opening. This also comes in handy when you'd like to do something together and PM-ing can get a bit unorganized.

After this you do a grand opening, with hopefully a bunch of cool cars!

Just remember, it takes time, very much of it, to gain interest in your garage when there aren't that many people around willing to review your tunes. So don't give up easily.

I hope you appreciate reading this, and have a good day! :)

Great to here! that you are making your garage:) 👍:tup:For the name,I LOVE Top Gear!!

EDIT:I'm not going but instead I will get a years subscription for the magazine

I'm glad Vince replied before I saw this thread. I would've said a similar thing but in not such a nice way. :mischievous:

Look at it this way lolcats. If you can't tune a car decently, WHY EVEN BOTHER OPENING A GARAGE?? :nervous: It becomes a case of the blind leading the blind, and if people follow someone who can't tune a car properly then they are completely stupid. :dunce: I'm not trying to discourage you though, I'm just advising you that if you do open a garage up, you need to be up to a certain standard that most people expect when they drive a tuner car from one of the tuner garages. This is what I suggest:

Like Vince said, read Scaff's Tuning Guide first. 👍 That will give you the fundamentals to actually understand what's happening to the car if you change a suspension/LSD/brake setting. Buy a cheap, decently handling car from the used car lot ('88 Silvia K's [S13] for example) and do a little bit of engine work to get around 250-300hp and get every other part fitted and learn to adjust each item one by one. ;)

Secondly, go and test cars already out on offer to the public to see what the standard of a good tuning company is. MFT, RRV, RedZone, GME, Shogun, ETZ......all of us won't let a car go out to the public unless we're satisfied with it ourselves. Personally, if I'm not happy then I know the customers/drivers won't be happy either so I won't release it until I am happy. The results show with all of us in the top half of any tuner cup field on any occasion we enter and always scoring good marks. :D

Thirdly, don't be scared to ask if you think you're stuck, we'll always help out, and you may find yourself becoming a tuner at one of the big cheeses (like little 9yr old SVX who's joined shogun!!) because we are noticing the efforts being made by guys like yourselves and some of us like different perspectives of the same issue. :sly:

Thanks guys. I'm pretty good at tuning the Suspension after 2 hours of reading about it on the internet. 👍

Yes he did, I wanted to put him under my wing. He will get to release a car in a few hours, I think he will turn out to be a good tuner. He just needed some more help. A tune can't be out in one or two hours, It takes to to get your garage off the ground.

If I would do it over again, I would have learned alittle bit more of what it took to tune, now I have to go back and redo some of my tunes. Good luck and take your time, it's not a race.

Thanks Shoman for your kind words

You will be, just like he will be with the right help! and somebody willing to take the time to work with him. Lolcats PM me and I will be willing to help you and your shop!. Just pm me your best tune and I will be able to help you.

:lol::lol::lol:
I'm not a very good tuner either. I considered opening a tune shop of my own, but I figured that I need more experience before I start something. Maybe for GT5, if it ever comes out:grumpy:

Alright LolCats. Just entered a sort of tuning competition in the Spot Race Challenge thread, and I've decided to help you with tuning. Just PM me the car you want me to help you tune. By the way, I found something you may find interesting:

Transmission:
Downforce:
LSD:
Suspension:

That way you could think who is in charge of each important part of the car. Since you asked only for Downforce, Suspension, and Transmission, I'm asuming you can tune LSD, in case you can't, I will. So it would go like this:

LSD: LolCats, Codename L.
Suspension:
Transmission:
Downforce: Codename L (I'm taking this part, I'm pretty used to tuning downforce, recently tuned my Elise for running in the Nürburgring, with a time of 7'28.7xx in S2 tires :D)

It's up to you, my friend ;)

yeah, school sucks at times. But we all need to go through this dark period, to enlighten ourselves. ;)

One day, you will do something you like and earn money with it.:D

Or, do something you don't like to do, or worse: do something that school didn't taught you to do, e.g. racing  :P

Oh my gosh. NO time on your hands sucks. I can barely muster enough time to post this letter. But Expect a tune by this friday or early saturday morning. I'm going to orlando ON Feb 27-march 1. Don't expect any posts then but I will try to tune the Honda S2000.

I found out I suck at tuning and are a better Car reviewer. Some random Admin or Moderator Please lock this thread. It would be great. Thank you :sly:

Hey I would like to join (I am really good at tuning the gearing and somewhat the suspension)

Oh yes, a question..........
How much do you pay? $25? $45? $100? (hourly)
