Top Speed Gearing for Jaguar XJR-9

Has anyone got any hints as to how I can get my Jaguar XJR-9 to accelerate well and have a top speed of 250mp/h+ on La Sarthe I (As well as II), from the top of the straight to the first hairpin? I have tried my Jaguar and the road is too bumpy for the current gearing, and the car isn't making 245mp/h. Can anyone give me any advice or gearing and/or suspension settings, as well as some tips. (I want tuning tips, not driving tips, I'm brilliant around La Sarthe anyway.)

Now that this is in the Tuning and Settings forumn, can someone help me. I would like my XJR-9, as I have said, to get to 300mp/h and still accelerate brilliantly. I can make it just about touch 250mp/h, but don't know how to get to 300mp/h. Can some please help me? I've been stuck for ages trying to sort it out.

I have done the transmission trick, and have the final gear ratio on at 2.125, with the normal 5 gears on as high (Numbers-wise), as possible. Hope that you can help.

You should have a look through the 300mph thread which is usually at the top of this forum. Toronado got his XJR-9 to just over 300mph.

Acceleration and top speed are usually mutually exclusive though. You usually have to choose a balance between one or the other. Also a car set for 300mph is probably not going to be any use when it comes to corners.
