What was the advert for, specifically?

A torrent in and of itself is not illegal.

Its offering me GTA for free and another game which I cannot remember. Its a google ad.

It's not necessarily illegal. Many developers host their software on torrents, which you can download for free. Activation though, that's another story.

Are you certain that what is depicted on the ad is illegal?

My bad I just clicked on it and it's offering a GTA mod for free not GTA for free. Sorry
