Well for $600 i can get a Samsung T260 26" LCD Monitor (1920x1200) with HDMI input or for $949 i can get a 32" Samsung LCD TV with HDTV tuner 3x HDMI and full 1920x1080 resolution. Now I currently have a 22" Samsung monitor with 1650x1080? with no HDMI, which my brother wants to get because his 19" square viewsonic is getting dated. So that leaves me a good excuse to update.

Now this will be used as a computer monitor 90% of the time with the other 10% being used for my PS3 to utilize my cockpit for GT5. (monitor will be setup with my cockpit all the time. Ive already got a 46" Bravia X series for my actual tv which sits in my room that the PS3 is almost perminatly connected to (however i cant use my cockpit with this setup) and i have a 32" Hitachi thats close to 2yrs old in the 2nd lounge area that the Wii is connected to, however its only a 720p TV and with only 1360x768 im not even considering running that for a PC monitor.

Anyway what do you guys think?

So which one would you recomend?

For PC use (hence, being close to it), the 26" is going to look sharper from having smaller pixels. Its a tough call. I've used my 46" as a monitor and been pretty close to it without having a reason to complain about the relatively low pixel density. You'll really appreciate a bigger display when you use your cockpit, but I'd also have to say that using a 32" display as your primary one is probably going to get annoying.

I almost forgot, the 1920x1200 will likely stretch the image from the PS3 to fit. Some monitors have the option to display "dot per dot" or 1:1, which will leave black bars at the top and bottom to preserve the aspect ratio.

Just a few things to keep in mind. Go have a look at the two if you can and decide if a 32" is too big or not. If money isn't an issue, the 32" will probably be the better pick.

bought the 32", PC sims is so awesome on this hehe. Once i fiddle with settings its quite useable for a normal every day monitor.
