Is it me or do some of the cars that you fully tune up and buy the works conversion end up being the WORSE and HARDEST vehicles to control in the game? I just bought a BMW M3 E30, bought everything for it and did the full works package. Went to try and test it and holy crap is it insane to control. I have to throttle control the entire car at like 20-30 percent or i'll immediately spin out. I remember driving one of them in retro events but i was able to control it fine then.

Tried to tune the settings and i just feel like the car is super light and sensitive.
Has anyone else have this issue or a tip to help? I'm in Elite Mode with ABS,trac low, stability and on a driving force pro.

Shift has always been this way. Some cars become completely unbalanced when you convert them, which completely negates the purpose of a race modification anyway. You'll find that some cars are better to live with in a pre-WC state, fully upgraded. Other cars only get worse - meaning they suck either way.

I hate that, i guess i gotta sell it and then re-buy it all over again. Oh well.

Ummmmm, shouldn't full on race modded cars be the hardest cars to drive? After all it takes the most driving ability to be a race car driver.

If a full beast driving car drove like a Toyota Corrola wouldn't we all be race car drivers in real life?

Some folks use absolutely no common sense before they post.....

Seriously? you wanna go that route? I had no issues driving the GT-R they give you to lap once you first boot up the game. I don't even have the same issue driving the team RX-8 you end up winning early on. My complaint was about how difficult it was to drive the car and you actually had to watch your throttle control and steering to really keep the car on the road.

I already have a few works modded cars and that E30 is the only one that's giving me issues.

You have to consider how much more power the car has going to the rear wheels once it's Works converted. You're going to have to work the throttle more on high HP RW drive cars...

Which is why i wish there was a ballast setting, would greatly help.

It's funny, because the FIA GT3 cars (and the GT1, from what I hear. I'm not that far yet) are the easiest and actually quite pleasant to drive.

Yes, the Works cars are sort of... Horrid.

There's a rather distinct difference between a full-on race modified vehicle driving around with the precision of a Corolla, as opposed to driving around with the precision of a seemingly weightless car that apparently sports buttered slicks. There's also the issue of mechanical and lateral grip - two things this game does not simulate well at all (other than the GT1 and GT3 cars). There's also aerodynamic grip, which again, other than the GT and GT3 cars, this game does not simulate very well. And that's without me divulging into a rant of everything else the game doesn't do well, again, with the exception of the GT1 and GT3 cars.

Also, I don't know where everyone develops the assumption that a race car has to be difficult to drive.

Yip GT1's are quite good to drive as well.(I have the MC12)

Also, most works converted cars have a 🤬 load of power, a lot more than the GT1 cars. The Zonda F Works is the best handling works converted car I've driven so far. Much better than my 840hp AE86:scared:

That's only if you forgot to put on soft slicks. Right now some cars become 1000 hp zamboni, yey!

Real race cars are generally very easy to drive, slick tyres provide masses of grip and a good setup leaves the car perfectly balanced.... The hard part is driving those cars on the limit, to the point where you're pushing the limitations of what the car is capable of, that is when it is hard to drive, threading the needle so to speak.

To argue this point is to disagree with half of the car enthusiast and car journalist world, never mind the race car drivers.

If only they had GT5's racing tyres in this game..everyone would be happy 👍

A large portion of the difficulty of racing comes from the other drivers. Look at how quickly an F1 driver will moan about their car if they're having to fight it around corners. The very nature of using tunes and set-ups is to make it easy for the driver to race fast.

I just bought a BMW M3 E30, bought everything for it and did the full works package.

Skip the V10 engine swap. It'll make for a far more balanced par if it doesn't have a huge lump of steel up front and way too much power on the rear wheels.

I liked the works converted Corvette Z06 in Shift 1, so I went ahead and made it my first works conversion in Shift 2. It's very unstable, it's improved with tuning, but I still have trouble keeping it straight after a long turn. On the other hand, I've fully upgraded the GT-R and it handles fine.

I will say though, that the GT3 Z06 handles fine.

Did that as well, still feels a bit weird, but i can finally "drive" the car now without 1000hp going straight to the rear wheels.

I used the Works version of that to spank Darin Macnamara in the Retro final events. I LOVE IT!

Even just some quick tuning-

Steering lock down a bit
Accel/Speed up towards the Speed side
Understeer/Over down towards Under a bit (personal preference)
Speed/Grip, Downforce- WAY UP. I cranked it, not max, but close. Hugs the corners like glue.

I know that's like cheating, like an extra assist, but I'm with these folks here saying race cars should handle well, they're build for that. Yes, tricky to drive them on the edge, but they shouldn't feel super skittish and squirrelly taking a turn at low speeds IMO.

I'm running Elite, no assists by the way. Also check you steering settings. I know it's different for wheels compared to controllers though.

But yeah, some Works cars just that way, like in Shift 1. Try a Works Audi R8, good lord, that thing is hard to handle. Yet the R8 LMS is completely different.

Haha, bought that car just to beat that event as well. I kept getting pwned by him on the first race. I'll try your tuning settings and see where it goes from there. It's just when i'm exiting a corner, i have to be very careful to not fully floor the throttle or the car will start powersliding everywhere. That was my biggest gripe and did not expect that out of the car.

Same here. I loved the zo6 from shift 1. It was probably one of the best cars to drive in the game. The new one though seems as though it is always on edge and it is absolutely horrible on street circuits like miami

I find that a good thing, This way, you actually have to spend time getting to know your cars limits... you cant just go mash every high performance part into and go rippin up the tracks perfectly. Makes it a challenge.

The thing with works cars is most put out 1000bhp+. I wish we could change the power output or just be allowed to not have 1000bhp. My only beef so far really. Makes me not wanna works convert anything.

*cough* ALFA GIULIETTA QV *cough*... that thing is so hard to handle with the Works, though, Fully Tuned (NO WORKS) it is a wonder! :\ weird...

Okay, after doing some testing runs with different wheel settings, this little beast became a bit more easier to drive. So i think it obviously had to do with the wheel settings i had before on my DFGT. With a bit of small tuning to the steering lock and lowering the tire PSI, everything felt better. Still is a little tough on exiting corners if you give it a little too much gas.

Not much of a fast driver but after three laps i was able to do a lap time of 2:05 on bathurst. E30's PI is 1864.

Shift 2 actually has cars which are difficult to control?

Never knew that honestly, been playing it like a maniac since it came out, I'm driving Elite, no assists on DFGT and honestly these cars all drive like they came straight out of heaven! And I think I've tried them all at least once,

While it's not very realistic I find that they are an absolute joy to drive and not undrivable at all, even the BMW.

Now go try the RUF CTR Yellowbird without assists in GT5: insanely fun but insanely difficult!

I'll be able to control that thing even if it's the last thing I do!

One more vote here for the Works Z06 sucking balls. It's a shame, because the stock car was a pretty sweet ride. But the Works has so much power that the rest of the car is seemingly incapable of handling it, despite the works conversion.

Anyone know how you get another Z06? Or are those who converted it boned?

I think you might be screwed. I tried doint the event again and you can't win another one. Or buy one. Strange.
