The activity, not the user, is much more accessible lately. I don't really know when it happened, because the last time I went to Google Mars it was a rather poor effort compared to Google Moon, and of course especially compared to Google Earth.
They've fixed that, and it's now a very complete model of the planet, with some very-high-res imagery in many places, and 3D models of (as far as I know) everything we've put up there that worked once it arrived, plus panoramic photos taken by the landers and rovers. not to mention the geography notes all over the dang planet!
