Gorgeous design, I like the redesigned details, lights, and contrasting top colour. I think the normal GT86 tries too hard to look aggressive with the angry face and big fake exhaust pipes. It's not ugly, and it's a sporty car, but stock it can't match its own looks.

It's difficult to learn more about this edition, but it appears the original concept was built by Gazoo Racing and shown at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2013. It was presented again in 2014, accompanied by a spider version built by Toyota Original Accessory and Gazoo. Given PD's good relationships with both Gazoo and Toyota, this would be quite possible to include.
Interestingly, both cars have a unique rear end to match the soft front lines, but I suppose for production this was unfortunately scrapped in favour of the normal GT86 one if the Road & Track photos are up to date.
