While the AE86 twins are the most beloved sporty Corollas of the '80s, the front-drive AE82 (specifically, the 3-door FX16 GT-S) was no slouch. The GT-S had a transversely-installed 4A-GE (making 128 horsepower in JDM trim, 112 horsepower here in the U.S.).
